Based on Italian archival sources, this paper analyses Tommaso Gallarati Scotti's (Italian ambassador to the UK) view during the electoral campaign, as a part of a diplomatic action aimed at resuming the traditional Anglo-Italian friendship brutally interrupted on June 10, 1940, at the time of fascist "stab in the back": a hard task to accomplish, even after the resumption of full diplomatic relations between Rome and London, in 1947.展开更多

METHODS: Rat fibroblastic-like liver derived cells (rFLDC) were obtained from collagenase-isolated liver cell suspensions and characterized and their phenotype profile determined using flow cytometry, immunocyto- chemistry, reverse transcription polymerase chain reac- tion and functional assays. RESULTS: rFLDC exhibit fibroblastoid morphology, ex- press mesenchymal (CD73, CD90, vimentin, m-smooth muscle actin), hepatocyte (UGTIA1, CK8) and biliary (CK19) markers. Moreover, these cells are able to store glycogen, and have glucose 6 phosphatase activity, but not UGTIA1 activity. Under the hepatogenic differentia- tion protocol, rFLDC display an up-regulation of hepatocyte markers expression (albumin, tryptophan 2,3-di- oxygenase, G6Pase) correlated to a down-regulation of the expression of the biliary marker CK19. CONCLUSION: Advanced hepatic features observed in human liver progenitor cells could not be demonstrated in rFLDC. However, we demonstrated the presence of an original rodent hepato-biliary cell type.展开更多

In recent years, some teachers have introdnced it into university teaching. Characteristics and demands of fine arts education internship ask for application of the form of electronic portfolio internship for teaching evaluation, enabling instructors to make internship preparation for students' internship period. Teaching experience accumulation and reflection could bring a more systematic and comprehensive evaluation of teaching and internship can enhance internship students' awareness of the importance of internship, and make good sorting in internship effectively. Self-reflection and conclusion are conducive to exchange of internship experience, promotion of learning ability and cultivation of a good learning attitude of life-long learning. In internship evaluation, teachers can determine evaluation objectives by applying the electronic portfolio to help students select portfolio of internship, gather the information needed in teaching, make teaching recommendations, solve practical teaching problems, and finally make a multivariate evaluation of internship students, to really make art education internship contribute to students.展开更多

Most were peasants, largely illiterate, and with no sense of an Italian identity as their ancestral home had only been liberated from centuries of foreign rule in 1861. This study utilizes primary and secondary documents, as well as archival sources and interviews to determine the role of sport in the transition to an Italian identity, and then an American identity within the assimilation process. Second generation youth adopted American sport forms, and some became national heroes in contrast to the stereotype of Italian gangsters. By the 1950s Italians had become icons of popular culture, yet negative stereotypes persisted and assimilation remained fragmented.展开更多
