Thermodynamics and kinetics of chlorination of Kenya natural rutile particles in a batch-type fluidized bed were studied at 1173-1273 K. Thermodynamic analysis of this system revealed that the equation of producing CO was dominant at high temperatures. Based on the gas-solid multi-phase reaction theory and a two-phase model for the fluidized bed, the mathematical description for the chlorination reaction of rutile was proposed. The reaction parameters and the average concentration of gaseous chlorine in the emulsion phase were estimated. The average concentration of emulsion phase in the range of fluidized bed was calculated as 0.3 mol/m^3. The results showed that the chlorination of natural rutile proceeded principally in the emulsion phase, and the reaction rate was mainly controlled by the surface reaction.展开更多

The calculated lattice parameters are well in agreement with expe...We employ density functional theory to study the mechanical, electronic and thermodynamic properties of the cubic NiTi in a prssure range of 0 -40 GPa. The calculated lattice parameters are well in agreement with experimental values and other calculated results, showing that the B2 NiTi is mechanically stable and no phase transformation occurs with pressure go-ing up to 40 GPa. The bulk modulus B, shear modulus G, Young's modulus E and B /G of B2 NiTi improve linearly with in-creasing pressure, implying that the volume change resistance, shear deformation resistance and elastic stiffness could also be strengthened by pressure. The pressure could also have an influence on the ductility of NiTi. The density of state (DOS) of Ni-Ti indicates that the bonding nature of B2 NiTi is metallic combining with covalent bonding, and pressure has no significant in-fluence on the electronic properties in a pressure range of 0 - 40 GPa. In addition, the dependences of temperature and pressure on Debye temperature ⊙D ,heat capacity Cv and Cp are further studied to figure out the thermodynamic properties of B2 NiTi.All above are especially useful to further study the properties of NiTi.展开更多

At the Habonim type section, the pedocomplex dated by archaeology and luminesc...The paper addresses the controversial question of the role of clay-sized dust in the formation of paleosols in coastal eolianites, Israel. At the Habonim type section, the pedocomplex dated by archaeology and luminescence to 45-135 ka ago shows at least three paleosols, not separated by non-soil sediments. The oldest reddish paleosol (apparently related to MIS 5) is magnetically enhanced, leached from carbonates, with signs of bioturbation and strongly aged clay coatings. The reddening is due to very fine, -20 nm, poorly crystallized, superparamagnetic (SP) hematite, as determined by Mossbauer studies. In subsoil, lithorelics of eolianite are found. Over time, the soil surface aggraded due to accelerated fine dust accumulation alongside local slope wash. On younger materials formed magnetically depleted vertisols, dominated by smectite-type expandable paramagnetic clays. In thin sections, vertisols exhibit strong stipple-speckled and striated b-fabric due to shrink-swell processes, impregnative calcite nodules and Fe-Mn redistribution. The uppermost hydric vertisol shows the strongest expression of juxtaposed features of recurrent calcite and Fe precipitation. This paleosol developed on colluvial soil materials, as evidenced by mixing of clay coated and uncoated grains of quartz and calcite allochems. M6ssbauer spectra show high amounts of Fe(III) incorporated in the clay structure, low amounts of SP goethite and absence of SP hematite. Whilst magnetic susceptibility drops in vertisols to minimal values, increase. The latter along ferrimagnetie grain sizes with differences in the hierarchy of microfabric features is taken as indication for lithologic discontinuities which may have resulted from continuous, albeit variable and low-intensity, input of eolian clay from both remote Saharan and local sources, roughly dated to the earlier to middle part of the Last Glacial.展开更多

As such, it is of outmost importance that governments consider language learning as an educational priority. Mozambique is no exception to this rule, as it has also already acknowledged the need not only to teach languages of wider communication such as English, French, and Portuguese, but also the Mozambican national languages. The present paper discusses the importance and value that is attached to multilingualism in Mozambique and focuses particularly on Foreign Language Teaching and Learning at tertiary level. This paper reports specifically on data collected through a questionnaire given to first year university students at Universidade Pedag6gica in Maputo, in June, 2008. Quantitative data are collected from 74 English majors who are learning French as the...This paper intends to make a comparative study of the vocabulary strategies used in 1st and 2nd foreign language by English majors. Quantitative data are collected from 74 English majors who are learning French as their 2nd foreign language, using a questionnaire designed mainly on the basis of O'Malley and Chamot's classifications of learning strategies. The subjects' beliefs in vocabulary learning are also investigated through the questionnaire. Findings show that vocabulary strategies used in 1st foreign language could influence, to a certain extent, their counterparts in 2nd foreign language, but significant differences still exist in many vocabulary strategies employed by the subjects in 1st and 2nd foreign language learning. Reasons for the differences are also analyzed in the paper. Finally, feasible measures are proposed to improve 2nd foreign language learning and teaching in Chinese universities.展开更多

The photochemical reaction of sulfur dioxide (802) with tetraphenylporphyrin magnesium (MgTPP) has been investigated in dichloromethane (CH2C12) solution at room temperature with illumination by visible light. C...The photochemical reaction of sulfur dioxide (802) with tetraphenylporphyrin magnesium (MgTPP) has been investigated in dichloromethane (CH2C12) solution at room temperature with illumination by visible light. Conventional fluorescence, UV-vis, and MS spectral analyses showed that under these conditions, SO2 was initially photochemically fixed by MgTPP to form a 1:1 molecular adduct. On continued irradiation and maintaining the flow of SO2, MS and XRD results showed that MgTPP is re- markably effective in the photochemical reduction of SO2 to sulfide (S2 ). The kinetics of the photochemical reaction of MgTPP with SO2 was studied in a SO2-saturated solution. Under irradiation, the reaction follows pseudo first order kinetics for MgTPP, having a half-life decreasing from 106 to 57 min as the illumination intensity is increased from 350 to 600 Lm. This investigation of the photochemical fixation and reduction of SO2 by MgTPP is of key interest in elucidating fundamental pho- tochemical reaction mechanisms associated with porphyrins in the presence of SO2; furthermore, the analysis of the photo- chemical reaction may offer new opportunities for the fixation and reduction of SO2 to less harmful species.展开更多

The common motto is the idea of gift. The gift of the death of Christ in the economy of salvation is the target of Derrida's deconstruction. Anselm himself enables this. However, there is in Anselm's theology of Trinity a metaphysics of the gift of being and of being other, elaborated with regard to the procession of the Holy Spirit. And it is possible to submit the original gift of the Holy Spirit to the same kind of deconstruction, that is, of economic reduction, to which the gift of the death of Christ had been submitted. But both the construction and the deconstruction of the theology of gift resort to the same kind of analogy procedure. And economy does not enable us to think the gift as purely as does theology.
文摘Effective assessment is inseparable from good teaching and learning. Just as a good tutor would practice different techniques of teaching, an assessor would usually use different strategies of assessment. Moreover, the different activities of assessment, such as teaching, are additionally executed at various times during the semester, thus, we can know in which way the student is learning. An assessment strategy lays out a well thoroughly considered choice of assessment methods that are aligned with the aims and learning outcomes. Because align the assessment with a specific kind of learning outcome, the tutor needs to choose a suitable technique of assessment. This paper draws upon a case study of the first year architectural design at Pharos University as another way to deal with realizing "how to design your assessment plan". Throughout the form of criteria based assessment, assessment can help to review the students and instructors feeling and reactions. Finally, we can learn to assist towards enhancing student learning through assessment. So, we can attract the consideration regarding the advantages of reviewing current assessment practices, and of accepting different ways to deal with assessment methods, in this manner profiting together student and tutor.

文摘This paper intends to make a comparative study of the vocabulary strategies used in 1st and 2nd foreign language by English majors. Quantitative data are collected from 74 English majors who are learning French as their 2nd foreign language, using a questionnaire designed mainly on the basis of O'Malley and Chamot's classifications of learning strategies. The subjects' beliefs in vocabulary learning are also investigated through the questionnaire. Findings show that vocabulary strategies used in 1st foreign language could influence, to a certain extent, their counterparts in 2nd foreign language, but significant differences still exist in many vocabulary strategies employed by the subjects in 1st and 2nd foreign language learning. Reasons for the differences are also analyzed in the paper. Finally, feasible measures are proposed to improve 2nd foreign language learning and teaching in Chinese universities.

文摘Reciprocity has core significance for understanding basic human living conditions:our social nature is founded on reciprocal relations,and reciprocity strengthens the ties between people.Reciprocity-based anthropology is a kind of cultural logic,one that stresses the interaction between different groups.Fundamentally,it involves studying forms of the mutually beneficial relations involved in complementary differences.This perspective reconciles differences,creating a communicative space for diverse cultures’coexistence,symbiosis and sharing.The various channels formed through human activity include ways in and ways out,constant incomings and outgoings,the coexistence of different cultures,ways of life and ideas,and complementarity.The launching of the Belt and Road Initiative includes channels with multiple characteristics and functions,so research on this topic involves the analysis of society and culture based on roadways rather than locations.
文摘The classical thermodynamics reflects the significant relationship between the heat and the temperature. On the basis of the relationships, according to the mathematical derivation, this paper structures the conceptions of generalized heat, generalized thermodynamic temperature, generalized entropy and so on. The series of conceptions in the classical thermodynamics is merely a special case of the generalized thermodynamics. Based on these conceptions of generalized thermodynamics, this paper presents the new expressions of the first law and the second law of thermodynamics. In other words, these expressions are endued with new explanations. The Eq. LZ = kTS given by this paper provides theoretical basis for these new expressions.

文摘The photochemical reaction of sulfur dioxide (802) with tetraphenylporphyrin magnesium (MgTPP) has been investigated in dichloromethane (CH2C12) solution at room temperature with illumination by visible light. Conventional fluorescence, UV-vis, and MS spectral analyses showed that under these conditions, SO2 was initially photochemically fixed by MgTPP to form a 1:1 molecular adduct. On continued irradiation and maintaining the flow of SO2, MS and XRD results showed that MgTPP is re- markably effective in the photochemical reduction of SO2 to sulfide (S2 ). The kinetics of the photochemical reaction of MgTPP with SO2 was studied in a SO2-saturated solution. Under irradiation, the reaction follows pseudo first order kinetics for MgTPP, having a half-life decreasing from 106 to 57 min as the illumination intensity is increased from 350 to 600 Lm. This investigation of the photochemical fixation and reduction of SO2 by MgTPP is of key interest in elucidating fundamental pho- tochemical reaction mechanisms associated with porphyrins in the presence of SO2; furthermore, the analysis of the photo- chemical reaction may offer new opportunities for the fixation and reduction of SO2 to less harmful species.
