First, based on the analysis of the use-case diagram, the upper ontology is illustrated which includes resource library ontology and user ontology, and evaluated from its function and implementation; then the corresponding class diagram, resource description framework (RDF) schema and extensible markup language (XML) schema are given. Secondly, the metadata for online learning resource repository management is proposed based on the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative and the IEEE Learning Technologies Standards Committee Learning Object Metadata Working Group. Actually, it is an effective learning strategy to complete the communication task under the help of native language, which should be acknowledged. Using native language to explain specific words or grammar rules can take advantage of the limited class-time efficiently and increase the class efficiency; using native language to discuss teaching method and solve the problems for the students can promote their enthusiasm. In these specific teaching processes, native language is an important teaching resource. Understanding the interrelation between information diffusion in online social media and user web interests can help the web ecosystem stakeholders in developing new services and designing efficient systems with optimized resources. This paper explores whether or not one can infer the trends of topics in the web by observing the Twitter microcosm. Using data- sets collected from Twitter and two representative web services (Google and Alexa), this work con- ducts a comparative analysis between trending patterns of topics in Twitter and in the web by consid- ering both the temporal and spatial perspectives, and finds that individual topics in Twitter and in the web share similar trending patterns both from the temporal and spatial aspects. Nevertheless, the tren- diness in Twitter can precede for a few hours and is highly unstable compared to the one in web. The application of these findings is also discussed on ad keywords planning in Search Engine Marketing. 展开更多

The present study is to explore the main obstacles to the development of lexical competence in advanced English study. It is conducted by having questionnaires and interviews among 220 students and by analyzing the teaching materials. The findings to the study indicate that the main obstacles are caused from the following aspects: neglecting the importance of developing vocabulary in the advanced study; neglecting activating the students' directing sense and detecting sense to difficult words; low rate of word recurrence in the teaching materials; requiring distinguishing the shade of the difference between synonyms excessively and too meticulously; overemphasizing the "negative transfer" of mother tongue; and some other obstacles to the development of lexical competence. 展开更多

An assessment of the role of Art as a resource for learning and development of the child has become necessary now that education appears to be the yearning of all especially in the developing countries. This paper seeks to assess the role of Art in learning and development of a child. The paper stresses that the child needs Art to learn because children's attention is drawn first by pictures (Art works) before letters of Alphabet. According to the paper, children become more knowledgeable and creative as they participate in Art classes where they are given opportunities to express themselves while engaging in drawing and painting exercises. This leads to self-discovery and development in children. By this, entrepreneurial spirit is also imbibed. The paper also notes that children who would not ordinarily want to learn have found pleasure in learning with Art and computer. Here the use of cartoons and animations become appropriate in teaching the child. Children also become more adventurous and creative as they find pleasure in drawing with application software like Corel Draw, Microsoft Paint, and so on. Finally, the paper emphasizes the need for Art to be wholly infused in the curricular of schools especially the primaries. This will be a strong factor or agent of development in children. It is a pilot project which intends to explore, develop, build, collect, select, analyze, and prepare an action plan for that purpose. The strategy is being used at a Federal Institute in Brazil--IF Sudeste MG, Rio Pomba campus. The subjects involved in this process of investigation are students of two classes who attend their first year at High School integrated to technical courses. The methodology involves the use of a school journal as a teaching and learning resource to encourage literary reading and the production of different genres. The goal is to establish an interaction between the reading and writing mediated by a young and playful context offering an additional instrument for instruction, aimed at the use and reflection of the language. 展开更多

In the paper, the authors present their experience and results related to the design and management of the on-line course "Development of e-learning resources based on the EUCIP (The European Certification of Informatics Professionals) certification scheme", which was organized under the auspices of the international Leonardo da Vinci project Sloop2desc (Sharing learning objects in an open perspective for development of European skills and competences). The course was primarily aimed at teachers of informatics. Out of 64 participants that applied for the course, slightly less than 50% managed to reach the last course module. In line with other research, the authors' experience showed that in order to minimize participants' drop-out rate, a sustained communication flow between tutors and participants was necessary and specific assignments had to be provided by the tutors, along with guidance. The authors expect the participants who successfully finished the on-line course to become a some kind of ambassadors for the introduction of the EUCIP scheme in Slovenia. 展开更多

This paper presents the multi-step Q-learning(MQL)algorithm as an autonomic approach to thejoint radio resource management(JRRM)among heterogeneous radio access technologies(RATs)in theB3G environment.Through the'trial-and-error'on-line learning process,the JRRM controller can con-verge to the optimized admission control policy.The JRRM controller learns to give the best allocation foreach session in terms of both the access RAT and the service bandwidth.Simulation results show that theproposed algorithm realizes the autonomy of JRRM and achieves well trade-off between the spectrum utilityand the blocking probability comparing to the load-balancing algorithm and the utility-maximizing algo-rithm.Besides,the proposed algorithm has better online performances and convergence speed than theone-step Q-learning(QL)algorithm.Therefore,the user statisfaction degree could be improved also. 展开更多

In that case, the Quality of Experience(Qo E) has received much attention and has become a key performance measurement for the application and service. In order to meet the users' expectations, the management of the resource is crucial in wireless network, especially the Qo E based resource allocation. One of the effective way for resource allocation management is accurate application identification. In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning based method for application identification. We first analyse the requirement of managing Qo E for wireless communication, and review the limitation of the traditional identification methods. After that, a deep learning based method is proposed for automatically extracting the features and identifying the type of application. The proposed method is evaluated by using the practical wireless traffic data, and the experiments verify the effectiveness of our method. 展开更多

From Importation to Innovation: The Perspective of Organizational Inertia's Effects

Based on an explorative embedded single-case study, this paper analyzes its import-based innovation process, identifies characteristics of manifestation of organizational inertia's effects, and reveals organizational learning's effects on firms" organizational inertia. The case selected is the successful practice about typical technology import of internal combustion locomotive, electric locomotive, and diesel engine, owned by Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Ltd Company of CRRC. Based on analysis, it can be found that firms'organizational inertia exhibits primarily negative effects, positive effects and a combination of positive and negative effects in different stages of imitative, improved and indigenous innovation respectively. Further analysis of typical events shows that explorative learning mitigates organizational inertia's negative effects, while exploitative learning enhances its positive effects. From the angle of organizational inertia's effects, this paper deepens understanding on the mechanism of transition from technology importation to indigenous innovation, and provides inspirations for late-coming firms to break the vieious cycle where technology importation leads to more backwardness.. 展开更多

Many students are reluctant to learn after learning for a time, because it is difficult for reality, and it is not easy to consolidate, that 45 minutes of English learning environment also appears to be a little frustrated, as many students who have been admitted to the University said during the learning process of the entire university, they spent seventy percent of their energy to foreign language learning rather than their own major. This not only illustrates the importance of English teaching but also shows its difficult nature, the main reason is our bad English language teaching environment, there is a lack of communication in English language environment, however, the network information and the development of modern multimedia technology has greatly improve the English teaching environment.
