[Method] The data set covered three provinces in northwest area. We detected hemoglobin of the sample pupils randomly chosen from the 3rd-6th grade of 305 rural elementary schools in 26 poor counties, and carried out questionnaires among them. [Result] 25.24% of the pupils had anemia, most of them were girl and the lower grade stu- dents. The multiple-regression revealed that the eating habits and family condition had certain impact on their anemia. [Conclusion] Anemia is still a serious problem of rural pupils. Improving diet conditions, providing balanced meals, enhancing the knowledge of the principals, teachers and parents about anemia and the importance of students' nutritional status and health contribute to the prevention and treatment of anemia of rural pupils.展开更多

The results show that: the physical development of children reach school age Hunan Province Han good, but the boys of height, weight and chest are still differences between urban and rural areas; respiratory function developmental level decreased to varying degrees, both urban and rural areas need strengthening exercise to improve respiratory function. Speed, endurance, power and strength endurance, strength, quality has a different rate of increase quality trends, and most has no specific differences between urban and rural areas; Felicity decline, but rural girls group performance has increased, shortening the urban and rural areas gap. Due to substantial improvements in the living conditions of rural, urban and rural differences have been gradually reduced, but from learning, family, social pressure, and the lack of good exercise habits, sports teachers and other reasons that students can not ensure adequate exercise time, which affects the Han physical level students in Hunan province, hoping to enter primary school-age children start, the implementation of the "National Student Physical Health Standard" and strive to ensure that physical education and physical exercise, strengthening and improving school sports to promote quality education, comprehensively enhance physical fitness of students in Hunan province.展开更多

Some transitioned from face-to-face instruction to online instruction. The aim of this study is to investigate the perceptions of both the instructors and the students as regards second language acquisition through online education at a rural university. The study was implemented in the context of teaching and learning English as a second language in an online education environment. The course material is based on The Net Languages Learning Platform, which is available at http://ide.yok.gov.tr/, and the course level is general English pre-elementary. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used in this study. For quantitative data collection, a questionnaire was employed to understand the reasons for low student attendance on online courses. For qualitative research method, observation was carried out, and interviews are designed as data collection techniques. Purposive selection was used for selection of the participants. The findings revealed that online education needs to be modified. The students are eager to improve their second language competencies; however, they do not want to waste their time on an easy course level.展开更多

A comprehensive measure of the fragmentation of cultivated land was made in Jiangsu counties and its temporal and spatial evolution characteristics and driving process from the perspective of landscape ecology were discussed. The results are as follows:(1)The overall fragmentation of cultivated land in Jiangsu Province presents that the eastern coastal areas are low, the interior of the west is high, the fragmentation of northern and southern Jiangsu is high, while the fragmentation of mid-Jiangsu is low.(2)The degree of fragmentation of cultivated land in most area of southern Jiangsu and midJiangsu showed an upward trend, while the fragmentation of cultivated land in northern Jiangsu showed a downward trend from 1985 to 2008. The degree of agglomeration of cultivated land is weakened continuously, the area of high value agglomeration is decreasing and the trend of "polarization" is weakening.(3) Topographic condition is the decisive factor for the formation of the difference pattern. The change of rural residential land, cultivated land and the scale of urban land use plays a role on the cultivated land fragmentation index, among them, the change of rural residential land scale has the most significant effect on cultivated land fragmentation.展开更多

Date collected by referring to the different parts of rural water and waste water company of Kermanshah Province and checklist were completed. The study showed the volume of produced water and sold water has increased and the water loss percentage has decreased. High cost of water production compared to revenue of sold water and water loss resulted in significant detriments in terms of the water production costs. Water loss level decreased from 33% to 30% as result of measures taken to reduce water loss but, it is still 15% higher than the world average level. Also the reduction in number of water resources and increase in the number and volume of reservoirs indicates a lack of water and a growing need. As result of high water loss, waste of costs in the contrast of water production cost and also because physical water loss accounts for most of the water loss of villages, necessary measures can be effective in reducing loss and have economic justification.展开更多

Therefore, what the natural tourism projects should first be "the economic value of the natural resources". However, after the man-made planning and being given the humanity, they have the "economic value of the human resources". In the construction of the future path of the development, we should also have the dynamic study on the subjective preferences of the Chinese consumers. The change of these subjective preferences directly results from the change of the levels of their own income.展开更多

It is argued that the mainstream approach which considers ecosystem services as an externality has many shortcomings and fails to consider institutional and political aspects---all very critical for the design and implementation of a PES (Payment for ecosystem services) project or program. The complexity and the diversity of co-evolutionary relations between ecosystem services and socioeconomic activities are spatially or territorially specific. In this sense, different types of PES market have to adapt and coevolve with different ongoing development processes.展开更多

In China, due to the urban-rural dual structure, these changes turn out to be more complicated. Spatial restructuring are suggested as the main strategies and spatial supporting platforms for urban-rural development. However, the theory still lacks solid methodology and support from systematic empirical studies. This study seeks an adequate scientific methodology and discusses the difference of urban-rural transformation in plains and mountainous areas. A case in Shanghang County, China, demonstrates: 1) The compound ecological niche model can be a suitable approach in urban-rural restructuring, especially in mountainous areas. 2) The urban-rural development area with highly inappropriate, slightly appropriate, moderately appropriate, and highly appropriate areas are 1273.2 km2(44.69%); 906.1 km2(31.80%); 509.4 km2(17.88%); and 160.1 km2(5.62%), respectively. 3) The "deserting villages" in mountainous areas play positive synergistic roles in urbanization, in contrast to the "hollowing villages" common in plain areas. 4) The central town-village will become the most important settlement in mountainous areas. Therefore, we suggest more attention should be paid to environmental capacity in the construction of central town-villages. This study significantly extends the understanding of "hollowing village" theory and regional planning.展开更多
