面向国际中文教育的中医文化教学体系构想

中文和中医同属于中国文化,也存在显著的专业差异。在国际中文教育的背景下考察中医文化教学,既需要遵循国际中文教育的一般规律,还应考虑中医学的专业属性。国际中文教学中的中医文化具有不同的主题类别和呈现方式。依据《国际中文教育用中国文化和国情教学参考框架》,同时参照非物质文化遗产的类别划分,从中医的专业性和文化的层级性两个向度,对中医文化的知识内容与元素作出合适的定位,并且提出中医文化教学体系的构想。

Reflections on Non-English Major Postgraduate English Teaching Reform

This paper presents some reflections on non-English major postgraduate English teaching reform. The author points out some understandings on the English proficiency of non-English major postgraduate students and curriculum changes in the reform. The author thinks that postgraduate English teaching reform is a systematic project, with a goal to meet the practical needs of postgraduate students and improve their ability to use English in their study and work. Hence, every effort of the reform should be made to satisfy the practical needs of the students and to make their English study contribute to their achievements in their own subject area.

斯文·赫定与翁文灏--兼论斯文·赫定与地质调查所的交流与合作

地质调查所所长翁文灏与瑞典探险家斯文·赫定在20世纪20至40年代交往密切,共同推动了地质调查所与斯文·赫定在中瑞西北科学考察、西北科学考查团研究论著出版、编制中国西北地图等方面的合作与交流。文章利用瑞典国家档案馆藏未刊斯文·赫定档案文献资料,以翁文灏与斯文·赫定的往来通信为主要研究对象,结合其他与地质调查所相关的档案材料,论述二人20余年的交往,可揭示长期不为人所知的最早的中瑞西北科学考察协议全貌,以及后西北科学考察时代的中瑞科学合作与交流,为西北科学考查团、地质调查所及其中国地图史研究提供新资料。

Optimization of the Conditions for Using Sewage to Cultivate Navicula tenera

[ Objective] This study was to improve the biomass of Navicula tenera, and thus to provide reference for achieving the industrial production of Navicula tenera. [Method] The feasibility of using sewage to cultivate Navicula tenera was preliminarily investigated based on the consideration of regional characteristics; and a series of culture conditions including the nutrient source of nitrogen（N）, phosphorus（P）, iron（Fe）, silicon（ Si ） and the salinity in medium for culturing Navicula tenera, were optimized by single factor test and orthogonal design.[Result] The optimized conditions for cultivating Navicula tenera using sewage are as follows： the water from Xiaoerlou Artificial Lake of Nanjing University of Technology as basic solvent; 360 mg/L urea; 150 mg/L N2HPO4 · 12H2O; 50 mg/L ferric citrate; 2 000 mg/L Na2SiO3 · 9H2O; 2.0 mol/L salinity. Navicula tenera was strongly adaptive to sewage and could well uptake the nutrient sources in the sewage. Under the optimized conditions, the culture cost decreased, and meanwhile the biomass of Navicula tenera reached 4. 766 g/L which is 3.57 multiples over original medium and 1.9 multiples over optimized medium No. 1.[ Conclusion] This study laid a foundation for the combination of culturing Navicula tenera in large scale and sewage treatment.

Accurate and precise determination of lead isotope composition in selected geochemical reference materials

Lead(Pb)isotopes have been extensively employed in tracing sources of Pb and its transport pathways through the environment.However,Pb isotopic ratios in related geochemical reference materials are scarce.Here,we report high-precision Pb isotopic ratios measured by Nu Plasma II MC-ICP-MS using calibrated ^(205)Tl/^(203)Tl=2.38865(NIST SRM 997)for mass discrimination correction.The long-term external precision(2SD)for NISTSRM 981 of Pb,BCR-2,and BHVO-2 are 0.31‰(n=105),0.42‰(n=11),and 0.25‰(n=5)for ^(208)Pb/ ^(206)Pb and 0.16‰,0.53‰,and 0.07‰for ^(206)Pb/ ^(207)Pb,both respectively,and their Pb isotopic ratios are in excellent agreement with the recommended values.Using this method,we report for the first time Pb isotopic compositions in shale SGR-1b(USGS);coal CLB-1(USGS);stream sediments GSD-17,-21,and-23(IGGE);soils GSS-12,-13,-14,-15,and-16(IGGE);plants GSV-1,-2,and-3(IGGE);and human hair GSH-1(IGGE).

The Improvement of CET4 Test

College English Test Band IV has aroused argument among students and English teachers, especially about its validity and reliability. The key problem of CET4 lies in that it lack of validity and its shortcoming results in some negative influence on language teaching. In order to improve the positive backwash of CET4, we must first make clearly six questions concerning validity of test. At the same time we should consider other factors when we reform the CET4.

IELTS考试因其具有科学性、公信度高、客观性强等特点 而被有关专家认为是目前国内外各种英语测试中最为可信和有效的、能够比较客观地考察出 考生的实际英语应用能力的测试体系。我国目前的英语测试大多仍注重考察学生的英语语言 知识，难以客观、公正地反映学生的语言能力。IELTS测试体系为我国英语测试系统的测试 模式、内容和评估标准的改革和完善、提高测试的可靠性和有效性等提供了宝贵的可鉴之资 。

Shallow geophysical investigations at the Akhmim archaeological site,Suhag,Egypt

Ground penetrating radar, electromagnetic terrain conductivity, and electric tomography have proven to be effective tools if they are combined together to investigate archeological sites. We have conducted a geophysical survey at the Akhmim archaeological site, the main objective of our survey is to locate additional buried structures for further excavation. Geophysical data were acquired in the area using the GEM-300 multi-frequency terrain conductivity profiler, the SIR 2000 ground penetrating radar, and the Syscal R2 resistivity meter systems. The results of the integrated interpretation show a number of buried features and a strong linear zone about 1 m wide that coincides with the suspected trend of a buried wall. There appears to be two parallel ridges of strong reflections on either side, indicating two parallel walls extended East-West and a room is identified at the bottom left comer of the site. Moreover, the interpretation results of some selected GPR and dipoledipole resistivity profiles adjacent to the open-air museum suggest the existence of a second statue of Ramses Ⅱ to the right of the previously discovered statue which could still be buried in the sand.

A Zooarchaeological Study on the Origins of Animal Domestication in Ancient China

A series of criteria such as morphological metrics, pathology, age structure, sex ratios, relative proportions, archaeological phenomena, diet analysis, and DNA studies are established for identifying the origins of domestic animals in ancient China in a scientific way. Using these criteria, it is established that the earliest domestic dog has been found in southern Hebei Province(ca. 10,000 BP), and the earliest domestic pig in southern Henan Province(ca. 9000 BP). Domestic sheep have been found in the Gansu–Qinghai region dating from 5600–5000 BP, and domestic cattle in eastern Gansu Province(ca. 5000 BP). Domestic horses from the period 4000–3600 BP have been discovered in eastern Gansu, and domestic chickens have been identified from sites in eastern Henan Province dating to ca. 3300 BP. Although the locations and time of the origins of animal domestication vary, they are mostly located in northern China.

Evaluation on washback effects of College English Test Band 4

The paper is an evaluative research on the possible washback effects of College English Test. By comparing and analyzing the differences between the old and new tests, it points out three major changes and their possible washback effects on the process of English language teaching and learning： abandon the part of Grammar ＆ Vocabulary, increase the proportion of listening test and change the test reporting form.

Progress in Environmental Evolvement and Environmental Archaeology Study in the Yangtze Delta （China）

A review was conducted on the environmental evolvement and environmental archaeological research since the 1980s in the Yangtze Delta. Former environmental evolvement and environmental archaeological research results can be summed up into 4 aspects： 1） Formation and evolution of the Taihu Lake; 2） Transgression and sea-level changes in the Holocene epoch; 3） Reconstruction of the pre-historical environment; and 4） Impacts of environmental variations on the rise and fall of human civilization （formation of the cultural interruptions）. Based on this review, some limitations in the present research methods and possible outcomes are pointed out in this paper.

Reconstruction of Mechanical Principles of Zhang Heng's Seismoscope

The difficulties in the reconstruction of Zhang Heng’s Seismoscope come mainly from the lack of understanding of its mechanical principles. Such a discrepancy affects the rational reconstruction of the external form of the seismoscope and the fair assessment of its position in science. In connection with the two basic conjectures on its basic principles over the past hundred years: namely, the suspended pendulum and the upright rod, the authors have conducted a comprehensive study from the viewpoint of modern seismology. In this study, various aspects are involved, such as the properties of the seismoscope, its description in the “History of the Latter Han Dynasty", the structure and movement of the central pillar, historical earthquakes in the Longxi region, earthquake intensity in Luoyang, and modern seismograms from the Luoyang seismic station. The result shows that Zhang Heng’s seismoscope works following a suspended pendulum principle; it is triggered to move by seismic Rayleigh waves; and resonance plays the role of amplification. The long-prevailing conjecture of the upright rod, which was mistakenly called the “inverted pendulum" for a time, is believed to be improper. Both theory and practice show that it cannot be used in a seismoscope and will lead to an irrational reconstruction of the external form.

Performance on the 2011 Certified Public Accountant （CPA） Examination for Large, Middle, and Small Historically Black Colleges and Universities （HBCUs）

There are over 100 historically black colleges and universities （HBCUs） in the United States. The majority of these HBCUs are located in the southeast section of the United States. HBCUs are a major supplier of certified public accountants （CPAs） to the profession. Therefore, the performance of candidates from HBCUs should be of interest to various constituents including educators, employers, parents, students, and other stakeholders. The purpose of this paper is to provide statistical performance on the 2011 CPA examination for large, middle, and small HBCUs based upon the number of testing events taken. Taking a testing event is not the same as passing a testing event. This was the dichotomy between quantity and quality of HBCUs＇ performances. For large HBCUs, Morehouse University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University （NC A＆T）, and Tennessee State University （TSU） were cited. For middle HBCUs, Albany State University, Norfolk State University （NSU）, and North Carolina Central University （NCCU） were cited. For small HBCUs, Alcorn State University, Fisk University, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore （UMES） were cited. The dichotomy between quantity and quality is real.

Deep Seismic Exploration in the Taiwan Straits: The HX9 Survey Line Experiment and Preliminary Results

By using an offshore large volume air-gun seismic source, onshore seismic stations( including mobile stations and permanent stations) and ocean bottom seismometers,a deep seismic exploration experiment was carried out for the first time in the Taiwan Straits. Results show that seismic stations can receive seismic signals from the air-gun arrays of the "YANPING Ⅱ"scientific investigation ship from as far as 280 km away.Tens of thousands of high quality seismic data items were obtained successfully and different types of P-wave seismic phases were identified. A one-dimensional crustal structure model of the survey profile HX9 shows that the crustal structure,which is reflected by Pc and Pm P reflection waves from two velocity discontinuities and basement refraction wave( Pg) constitutes the basic characteristic of the crustal structure in this region. The depths of Conrad discontinuity and Moho discontinuity are respectively16. 0km- 17. 5km and 28. 0km- 29. 5km.

Studies on rock magnetic and paleointensity of some archaeological artifacts from Tamilnadu,India

This study investigates the magnetic mineralogy and paleointensity values of a collection of archaeological artifacts(pottery) . The actual magnetic carriers and their domain states present in the archaeological pottery were obtained using the low field susceptibility,thermomagnetic curves and acquisition of isothermal remanence. The magnetic mineralogy of all the samples was dominated by ferrimagnetic mineral(magnetite/magnetite with low titanium content) ,which was suitable for paleointensity measurements. The geomagnetic paleointensity value obtained by subjecting them to modified Thellier and Thellier method,is found to be(48.81±0.15) μT.

Zhang Heng's Seismoscope( 2):Historical Materials and Investigation

Historical data regarding Zhang Heng's seismoscope is not singular proof. Actually,the four earliest historical documents,i. e.,Continuation of Historiography of Han Dynasty, Historiography of the Later Han,Book of the Later Han and Ding Record all have relevant records of its structure,size,principle,response to earthquake and actual applications. These five aspects are supported by archaeological research,unearthed cultural relics, historical earthquakes and modern seismological study. These historical materials contain a great deal of specific information about this ancient seismoscope. In conclusion, the authenticity and reliability of Zhang Heng's seismoscope are verified.

Effects of visuals on simulated CET-3 listening test

In real-time situation, listeners rely on linguistic knowledge as well as contextual information to process acoustic signals, while presently in China, most listening comprehension tests do not include visuals （visuals bearing content or contextual information） to facilitate the listening. The present paper chooses several simulated CET-3 listening comprehension as the experimental materials and tries to investigate the effects of different types of visuals, such as pictures, diagrams, and photos of the speakers＇ part, with items on the CET-3 listening tests.

An XML-based information model for archaeological pottery

An information model is defined to support sharing scientific information on Web for archaeological pottery. Apart from non-shape information, such as age, material, etc., the model also consists of shape information and shape feature information. Shape information is collected by Lasers Scanner and geometric modelling techniques. Feature information is generated from shape information via feature extracting techniques. The model is used in an integrated storage, archival, and sketch-based query and retrieval system for 3D objects, native American ceramic vessels. A novel aspect of the information model is that it is totally implemented with XML, and is designed for Web-based visual query and storage application.

REPORT ON PONTONIINE SHRIMPS (CRUSTACEA: DECAPODA) COLLECTED BY JOINT CHINESE-GERMAN MARINE BIOLOGY EXPEDITIONS TO HAINAN ISLAND,SOUTH CHINA SEA I. ANCHISTUS, CONCHODYTES, CORALLIOCARIS

The present paper reports 7 species of pontoniine shrimps collected from Hainan Island, South China Sea, by the Joint Chinese German Marine Biology Expeditions, in which, Conchodytes nipponensis (De Haan, 1844) and Coralliocaris brevirostris Borradaile, 1898 are new records from Chinese waters.
