The Bauls do not revere class/caste/religious divides and often flout the norms of the society by their divine madness. Etymologically, the word derives from Sanskrit, "vatula" (meaning one who is affected by the wind disease or is mad), or "vyakula" (meaning restless or disordered). In recent years however, Bauls have been recognized as a religious sect, yet the connotation of madness still clings to their reputation. This paper is going to discuss briefly how the Baul tradition developed in Bengal and then focus on the Baul philosophy in the Baul-gan texts and on their musical appeal. Many of the Baul-gans have had profound influence on other forms of music. Closely associated with the Baul sangeet is the Bhatiali music whose rhythm, has often won the hearts of many classical musicians. Often times the classical musicians have been found to render the ektatra or dotara sounds in their improvisations. Rabindranath Tagore too has used some of the Baul maestro, Lalon Fakir's lyrics, philosophy as well as music in many of his songs. More recently, Baul songs have been rendered through fusion bands or experimental music.展开更多

Also this law (1997) introduces the division between generators, distribution companies and retailers. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the fundamental parameters to be taken into account when examining the status of national regulations in Spain on the quality of electricity supply, in addition to describing the various agents intervening in these. There are two more aspects to consider: the guarantee of supply and energy is provided at the lowest cost to consumers. The authors propose to include phase-shifting transformers at specific strategic points, in accordance with power flow control principles in parallel circuits. Finally, it can be concluded that Royal Decree 222/2008 needs reviewing and applying effectively, as do modifications to Royal Decree 1995/2000 providing remuneration that effectively induces electricity companies to invest in their networks, and ends with "a well-paid electricity company is obliged to invest in network improvements".展开更多

The study highlights how a transaction between the government, as buyer, and the bus operator, as seller of services, can affect an external factor that being community and regional development. The results suggest that the small- and medium-sized family firm bus operators are the governance models most likely to contribute toward achieving community and regional development outcomes, which in turn, highlights the importance placed on the achievement of the non-financial goals of family firms and the socio-emotional wealth of the community in which it is embedded. This study suggests that it is possible that contracting bus-services for social value, rather than just lowest price, would create greater benefit for the community and this would offset any gains in economic efficiency achieved by large and non-family firms.展开更多

The target will be reached by most EU-countries and the total emission for EU-27 has been reduced by 22% from 1990 to 2007. Denmark is one of the countries with the largest reductions since 1990 and the article aims at the measures and costs involved. The conclusion is that the costs have been under 3ε per kg NH3-N. Measures in several countries are under 5ε per kg NH3-N, which is a likely minimum for the benefits of reducing NH3-N. The findings suggest that the same measures might be cheaper in the Netherlands and Denmark than in the UK and the USA due to technology advances and stricter regulations in the past. The new Danish application procedure, when increasing the animal production, has tried to make the acceptance procedure quicker and dynamic ensuring that new technology is adopted quicker and that the farm has the right location. It is concluded that the new application process so far has not lived up to the high expectations at the outset. Despite this, the paper concludes that Denmark is likely to reduce emission by 50% from 1990 to 2020 and reach the likely 2020 NEC ceiling.展开更多

This collaboration has more and more developed a particular landscape of projects which share the same operative principles and modes of operation. The city at large has been the context where these projects have been implemented and developed with the will of bringing these types of experimentation to the people and to the public and social scale. Cities are continuously produced through entropic processes that mediate between complexity and immediacy. Information technology operates as a linkage able to set up new rules for communication between man and matter. In this framework, by looking at spatial interventions in the urban space, the aim of the paper is to dissect the modes in which spatial practitioners operate in the digital city through "Urban Machines" and how information technology becomes a tool for place-making. The paper looks at integrated systems or machines that have spatial, social, and environmental implication in how we experience the city. Machines imply "something that has been constructed" and "function with a specific purpose" while being composed by parts that respond to a "functioning whole". These interventions start from sharing the same principle: How do we generate through technologically mediated experiences opportunities for new types of production of(social)space?; How such systems shape our urban experience and deploy forms of participation in civic life?.展开更多

However, such services are accompanied by high initial cost of installation and the operating inefficiency due to the absence of design guidelines. To solve these, the integrated management of the process by supplying the public service like voucher schemes to the dwelling is needed. This paper mainly proposes a research about the healthcare service in a residential environment, which includes medical service and safety service and so on, by surveying the voucher program and the in-house infra status. Finally, the house planning elements for healthcare-based smart home are drawn and the planning directions through expert survey are suggested. Therefore, this study surveyed on voucher program and in-house infra status, and drew the house planning elements for health-based care smart home. In addition, this study suggested the planning direction through expert survey. This study can be used as a guideline for constructing a smart home, which supplies healthcare service.展开更多

This serious food safety issue is being addressed in different countries not only in terms of their biological and clinical characteristics, but also in terms of various standards of allergen management in food industries. This abnormal immune response caused by food allergens affects the quality of life especially in children and influences their overall health and retards normal growth, along with they suffer from ailments like eating disorders, depression, sometimes even death which is the most adverse impact of food allergy. Every country has their own set of guidelines to deal with the food allergens especially developed countries, food allergen guidelines is not well documented in developing countries. FAO/WHO is providing assistance to developing countries in strengthening their food safety guidelines. The Codex Alimentarius was formulated by the two organizations FAO/WHO in the year 1960; it is a collection of food standards in a integrated, codified style, together with associated material such as codes of hygiene and good manufacturing practices that should be followed by industries during various production stages of a food item. In both developed and developing nations, the Food Chemical Codex or the Codex Alimentarius aims to protect public health and implement fair trade practises for the trading of food items.展开更多

According to our case study industry, such industry currently used traditional network systems such as LAN, and "Bus Network" Network Topology. Client/Server distributed computing has a problem with database management in data redundancy, data inconsistency, and data independency. For Network Topology, Bus Network has problem with multitasking since the network are able to handle only a set of data at a time so the traffic problem will occur when multiple users request for the service. Thus, such condition is inconsistent with concurrent engineering which must be able to access the data simultaneously. As a consequence, this study develops a network system, network system of working system, using LAN and "Star Network" network topology. The file server processing distributed is an application while database is stored in host computer or file server but the data will be processed in users' computer. When the user needs to access the data, file server will send it to the user and the user can further analysis or manage such data in the user computer, so called "Hierarchical Database Model". Hierarchical database structure is easily developed like general organization command structure with different level of responsibility. In details, the data level in the database is divided into three levels including DBI, DB2, and DB3, so development of simultaneously systemic flow and access of various critical data is performed in parallel. Furthermore, this is consistent with access of all three data levels including: Level 1 is overall dataflow of both inside and outside the organization; Level 2 is dataflow of each division in the organization; and Level 3 is dataflow of subunit in each division in the organization. After systemize flow and access of data with concurrent engineering as mentioned, it provided optimal efficiency in the whole production system management reducing loss in the whole system of the organization展开更多

Availability of feed ingredients was calculated from the official crop production statistics using published harvest index and extraction ratios, and their nutrient supply was estimated from local feed composition tables. Feed requirements of livestock species were calculated from the standard tables published by US National Research Council. The results showed that indigenous feed resources were short for livestock and poultry requirements. The supply and demand gap for dry biomass, crude protein (CP) and metabolizable energy (ME) were 19.4%, 37.2% and 38.0%, respectively. Crop residues were the predominant source comprising 58.8% of the total feed supply, while fodder and grazing shared 23.8% and 9.2%, respectively. Grains and by-products contributed 8.2% to the feed supply. In attempt to fill this gap, large quantities of oilseed meals were imported mainly for the poultry sector. Maize was the major feed grain used in poultry and ruminant rations, and they together consumed 79% of the country's total maize produce. Based on the anticipated rapid expansion in poultry, dairy and feedlot farming in Pakistan, the feed gap will further enlarge and this warrants future focus on efficient and intensive utilization of the local conventional and nonconventional feed resources. The data and information presented in this paper provided a sound basis for regular updating in future to attain sustainable growth of livestock sector in the country.展开更多
