The arm solution for the orientation of a manipulator using a self organizing neural net is studied in this paper. A new training model of the self organizing neural network is proposed by thoroughly studying Martinetz, Ritter and Schulten′s self organizing neural network based on Kohonen′s self organizing mapping algorithm using a Widrow Hoff type error correction rule and closely combining the characters of the inverse kinematic relationship for a robot arm. The computer simulation results for a PUMA 560 robot show that the proposed method has a significant improvement over other methods documented in the references in self organizing capability and precision by training process.展开更多

One-hundred-fifty-eight useful responses were drawn at random from subordinate managers of manufacturing companies listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. The mediating effect of trust in supervisor was examined by path analysis. Subgroup analysis was used to examine the contingency effect of budget-goal difficulty on the mediating role of trust in supervisor between budget participation and performance. The findings support our hypotheses and demonstrate the mediating effect of trust in supervisor and the moderating effect of budget-goal difficulty.展开更多

First, the major issues involved in complexity management and decision making are summarized as they are viewed in literature, and a review of GST and Systems Thinking is given. The discussion in the paper is developed within the context of GST in general, but concentrated on decision making in the three trends of GST: Operations Research, Cybernetics, and Managerial Cybernetics. Here, the role of Cybernetics in complexity decision making is particularly emphasized. The discussion is then extended to the latest developments in complexity decision making in Science of Complexity and Soft Systems Thinking. The study also includes a framework which is expected to guide instructors who are planning to offer contemporary courses on decision making. The framework provides some clues for assessing the level of complexity for a given situation and selecting the appropriate methodology for solution development.展开更多

Both students and teachers enjoy much liberty in the maneuver of different steps in the whole process, which, as it were, may cause a series of problems and dissatisfactions, consequently undermining the quality and significance. This paper is intended to explore a streamlined and systematic procedure to ensure both the students and teachers are doing their bit and make due contribution to the thesis perfection.展开更多

Literature has found that the success of organizations indicated with sustained profits, performance indicators and high financial returns are achieved using superior leadership. This research evaluates the impact leadership style has on culture within an organisation. This research uses two well-used surveys to find the link between an organisation's leadership style and culture within an accounting firm. Results indicate that the local accounting fn'm has a dominant leadership style of Democratic and a dominant culture of Hierarchy followed closely by Market. Further work is needed to identify if these styles persist in other accounting firms.展开更多
