The main objective of this study was to compare the projected and the real ROI (return on investment), after seven years of use. ROI was calculated annually (from 2008 to 2015), by deducting the cost of investment (ADS buying and implementation, maintenance, repairs and ADS upgrade) from the cost saving (drugs stock reduction and decrease of pharmacy staff dedicated to global dispensing). In 2015, total costs saving (+$1,141,987) were divided between decreasing drug stock value and reduction of pharmacy staff. Total costs of investment (-$978,656) were acquisition, maintenance, repairs and an unplanned upgrade costs. Finally, the real ROI was +$163,331 after seven years of use. In 2008, projected ROI was +$410,786. The real payback period has been increased by approximately two years (six years of use, instead of four years as expected). Despite their cost, ADSs are a worthwhile investment, leading to a ROI within a few years. These economic considerations should be put into perspective with optimization of drugs stock management, greater efficiency of the global dispensing process, securitization of medication process and redeployment of pharmacy staff.展开更多

Our present day workforce is made up of a diverse group of people: Matures, also known as Veterans (age 55+), Baby Boomers (age 45-54), Generation X (age 35-44) and Generation Y also known as Millennial (age 18-34). The differences and challenges among these groups will be evident when reviewing recognition and praise, managerial styles, subordinate responses to generational leadership. Companies are stepping back and looking more holistically at how to develop programs and deploy technology that will speak to four distinct generations in the workforce (Sprague, 2008). Each generation has their own definition of work ethic, responsibility, and performance. The best way to deal with the multi-generations is coming up with ways that make everybody feel like they are members of a team, thus helping them to learn how to develop a better way of communication than what exists between them now. If everybody is a part of a team, then they are all sharing the benefits that the other generations can bring to the table, making them a strong entity. Matures and boomers can become mentors to the X and Y's, and the X and Y's can then share and impart their knowledge of technology to the Matures and boomers. Companies in today's workplace must learn a better way to understand the values of the four generations, for it is very important in understanding and guiding these people in the workplace. Without this proper understanding, the guidance and alliance that managers are hoping to achieve will be even longer in the making and then one, possibly two, whole generations will be gone from the workforce and their knowledge and skill gone as well.展开更多

The study methodology includes theoretical search and field research with descriptive exploratory method. The results indicate that there is need to be investing in people management, demonstrating that there is still much to be improved, particularly as regards the development of workers. In this sense, it is recommended that invested more in continuing education and refresher courses for staff development, entrepreneurship training to show concern in giving them the opportunity to grow personally and professionally and still have other competitive advantages such as increased productivity, reduced costs, improved quality, and reduction in turnover of staff.展开更多

In November 2015, they were 10,952. This research focuses on their foster care and examines the point of view of social workers that have theoretical competences and fieldwork. The main objective of this paper is to present operational recommendations concerning the definition and organization of this instrument, starting from social workers' direct experiences. Main results: A friendly familiar setting is useful to overcome loneliness and social isolation coming from a new and unknown realiW during adolescence and permit a better social, school, and professional integration for the minor compared with residential care. For a successful outcome, the strengths consist in: The young migrant must not have behavioral nor psychiatric disorders and must be willing to integrate himself into a new family, recognize adult authoriW and share his life plan with family's adults; training all foster families included omo-cultural ones; the birth family involvement in the foster care's project. The ascertained criticalities concern on the low number of available families, the lack of standard operating procedures, guidelines, research, and literature on the topic.展开更多

The structural synthesis of these structures is useful to provide a working basis, including for the promotion of new structures with 7 axes, besides some already existing and applied structures. This paper summarizes kinematic chain structures using a combinatorial method by listing all possible variants of the structures with 7 axes, obtained by adding a rotational or translational coupling, in a parallel or perpendicular position, against the guiding structure with 6 axes consisting of two distinct modules: positioning module (3 axes) and orientation module (3 axes). Representation of proper workspaces can help the designer in choosing the structure with maximum functionality for a given application.展开更多

Rights-based approach to journalism in Turkey is a pretty new field of study for the researchers who study media. The examples of rights-based journalism appeared further especially in European Union membership process. Thus, the news that are sensitive to rights have found a broader place in media. In the process of E.U. membership, Turkey was required to carry out some regulations that target the betterment of human rights, women's rights, children's rights and minority rights. Making news from a rights-based perspective is an action for the announcement of people's struggle for their rights to the public with the aim of preventing the violations of rights.展开更多
