In contemporary times, the principle of interdisciplinarity has been applied more and more, and based on that, the educational system allows a certain subject not to be confined any longer within the limits set by its...In contemporary times, the principle of interdisciplinarity has been applied more and more, and based on that, the educational system allows a certain subject not to be confined any longer within the limits set by its name and it also allows the cross-curricular connectedness. Led by that, the authors came up with the idea to examine the possibilities of the application of this principle within the courses of mathematics and music. This paper examines the relationship of correlation-integration-co-ordination, or linking-conjoining-harmonizing. The sample consists of the students at the fourth and fifth year of the Pedagogical Faculty in Sarajevo. The research topic is the correlation between mathematics and music. The research problem is the possibility to successfully realize a class in which mathematical and musical activities correlate. The aim of the research is to come up with some guidelines that would lead to a more successful application of the aforementioned correlation in practice. The conclusion is that we should work more on the possibilities of applying various forms of intercorrelation between subjects, to make the class content even more appropriate to the natural environment in which the child learns in a relaxed manner.展开更多

However, the public dance course teaching in China' s colleges and universities is a necessary way for ensuring the effective implementation of the public dance course teaching, because there are certain unsound teaching problems in the public dance course teaching in China' s colleges and universities currently. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out deep research and practice for the public dance education in China' s colleges and universities, and this plays an important role in promoting the development of general colleges and universities' quality education for students, advancing the further development of the current genera/colleges and universities' public dance education, and enriching the existing public art education theories. There are many problems such as unclear teaching goals in the existing public art course teaching model, non-systematic and non-scientific teaching contents, simple teaching forms, and simple teaching methods in the general colleges and universities, so it is urgent to explore new teaching models. The purpose of this paper is to build a three-dimensional public dance teaching network from both forms and contents. Public dance course is a selective course, which is established for training the high-quality personnel demanded by the modernized construction of socialism, and plays an irreplaceable role in improving the aesthetic quality, cultivating the innovative spirit and practice ability, and shaping a healthy personality. Language teacher professional development has recently shifted away from transmissionist approaches based on cascading or transfer of external knowledge toward social constructivist paradigm with a focus on the situat...Language teacher professional development has recently shifted away from transmissionist approaches based on cascading or transfer of external knowledge toward social constructivist paradigm with a focus on the situationality of learning and teaching as social processes of sharing and (re)constructing personal meanings, understandings, and skills. The social constructivist view of teacher education values teachers' agency in constructing and shaping personalized knowledge as a socially constructed experiential process in context. So, the researcher as an EFL educator in an Iranian teacher education university investi- gates the professional development of an EFL teacher during a three-year-time span both as a student and then as a teacher. Teacher journals, observation, and interview as three appropriate data gathering tools were used to obtain triangulated data. Student teacher professional change during the time span, multidimensionality of professional development, and discursively shaped personal beliefs and knowledge and their influence on teaching actions and practices were the emerged themes of data analysis based on Strauss (Qualitative analysis for social scientists. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1998) constant comparative method, including three steps of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings of this research challenge the transmission nature of teacher education which assumes student teachers as the conduits, requiring to be filled with skills, input, and knowledge lectured by educators as authority figures.展开更多
