In the research, carbon emission in community is a kind of ecological resources and negative externality is the cause of increase of rural carbon emission. Compared with governmental ruling and marketing approach, community manage- ment mode proves more effective to solve the problem of negative externality of carbon emission in community. Furthermore, rural carbon, emission was analyzed in detail on basis of community management mode and extending mode of carbon emis- sion in rural areas. In addition, some policies and suggestions were proposed to im- prove community management of carbon emission in rural areas, providing an ef- fective way for low-carbon economy in rural areas.展开更多

There is no evidence that increasing fluid intake and physical activity can relieve the symptoms of chronic constipation. Patients with normal-transit constipation should increase their fibre intake through their diet or with commercial fibre. Osmotic laxatives may be effective in patients who do not respond to fibre supplements. Stimulant laxatives should be re- served for patients who do not respond to osmotic laxatives. Controlled trials have shown that serotonin- ergic enterokinetic agents, such as prucalopride, and prosecretory agents, such as lubiprostone, are effec- tive in the treatment of patients with chronic constipa- tion. Surgery is sometimes necessary. Total colectomy with ileorectostomy may be considered in patients with slow-transit constipation and inertia coil who are resistant to medical therapy and who do not have defecatory disorders, generalised motility disorders or psychological disorders. Randomised controlled trials have established the efficacy of rehabilitative treat- ment in dys-synergic defecation. Many surgical proce- dures may be used to treat obstructed defecation in patients with acquired anatomical defects, but none is considered to be the gold standard. Surgery should be reserved for selected patients with an impaired quality of life. Obstructed defecation is often associated with pelvic organ prolapse. Surgery with the placement of prostheses is replacing fascial surgery in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, but the efficacy and safety of such procedures have not yet been established.展开更多
AIM: To evaluate the value of plasma N-terminal pro- brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) level for predicting postoperative atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients undergoing surgery for esophageal carcinoma. METHODS: ...AIM: To evaluate the value of plasma N-terminal pro- brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) level for predicting postoperative atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients undergoing surgery for esophageal carcinoma. METHODS: NT-proBNP levels were measured in 142 patients 24 h before and 1 h after surgery for esophageal carcinoma. All patients having a preoperative cardiac diagnosis by electrocardiogram (ECG), remained under continuous monitoring for at least 48 h after surgery, and then underwent clinical cardiac evaluation until discharge. RESULTS: Postoperative AF occurred in 11 patients (7.7%). AF patients were significantly older (69.6 ± 12.2 years vs 63.4 ± 13.3 years, P = 0.031) than non-AF patients. There were no significant differences in history of diabetes mellitus, sex distribution, surgical approach, anastomosis site, intraoperative hypotension and postoperative fever. The preoperative plasma NT-proBNP level was significantly higher in patients who developed postoperative AF (121.3 ± 18.3 pg/mL vs 396.1 ± 42.6 pg/mL, P = 0.016). After adjustment for age, gender, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), history of cardiac diseases, hypertension, postoperative hypoxia and thoracic-gastric dilation, NT-proBNP levels were found to be associated with the highest risk factor for postoperative AF (odds ratio = 4.711, 95% CI = 1.212 to 7.644, P = 0.008).CONCLUSION: An elevated perioperative plasma BNP level is a strong and independent predictor of postoperative AF in patients undergoing surgery for esophageal carcinoma. This finding has important implications for identifying patients at higher risk of postoperative AF who should be considered for preventive antiarrhythmic therapy.展开更多

In the present study, we aimed to develop a compound epirubicin plus quinine injection, to characterize the efficacy in treatment of the drug-resistant breast cancer, and to reveal the involved mechanisms. The HPLC-UV methods were developed for quantifications, and the evaluations were performed on the drug-resistant human breast cancer MCF-7/adr cells using a high content screening system. Results demonstrated that the compound epirubicin plus quinine injection was able to effectively block the drug efflux, exhibiting an evidently overall efficacy in treatment of the resistant breast cancer cells by direct killing effect and by apoptosis-inducing effect. In the formulation, quinine played multiple roles in blocking drug efflux and in inducing the apoptosis of the resistant breast cancer cells. The apoptosis signaling pathways were associated with a cascade of reactions by activating Caspase family and by inhibiting Bcl-2 family. In conclusion, the present study preliminarily revealed the efficacy and mechanism of the compound epirubicin plus quinine formulation in treatment of the drug-resistant breast cancer, and offered a potential strategy to overcome drug resistance in cancer treatments.展开更多
Acute cellular rejection(ACR) remains a major concern after liver transplantation.Predicting and monitoring acute rejection by non-invasive methods are very important for guiding the use of immunosuppressive drugs.Man...Acute cellular rejection(ACR) remains a major concern after liver transplantation.Predicting and monitoring acute rejection by non-invasive methods are very important for guiding the use of immunosuppressive drugs.Many studies have shown that exosomes and their contents are potential biomarkers for various liver diseases.Here,we identify and validate the role of exosomes and galectin-9 in ACR after liver transplantation.Exosomes were isolated from three sets of paired patients,with and without ACR,and the proteins within the exosomes were isolated and identified.Candidate proteins were then validated using a tissue microarray containing resected liver samples from 73 ACR and 63 non-rejection patients.Finally,protein expression and clinical manifestations were included in KaplanMeier survival and Cox regression analyses.Circulating exosomes were isolated from ACR and non-rejection patients and characterized using transmission electron microscopy and western blotting for CD63/CD81.Western blotting experiments revealed higher levels of galectin-9 protein in circulating exosomes from ACR recipients.Immunohistochemical analysis of the tissue microarray showed that the expression of galectin-9 in resected liver was significantly higher in the ACR group than in the non-rejection group(P<0.05).Higher levels of galectin-9 expression in resected livers were associated with poorer prognosis(P<0.05).Exosome-derived galectin-9 may be a novel predictor of rejection and prognosis after liver transplantation.展开更多

RLKs are a family of single trans-membrane proteins with divergent N-terminal extracellular domains capped by a signal peptide and C-terminal intracellular kinase. Researches in the last two decades have uncovered an increasing number of RLKs that regulate plant development, stress response and sexual reproduction, highlighting a dominant role of RLK signaling in cell-to-cell communications. Sexual reproduction in flowering plants is featured by interactions between the male gametophyte and the female tissues to facilitate sperm delivery and fertilization. Emerging evidences suggest that RLKs regulate almost every aspect of plant reproductive process, especially during pollination. Therefore, in this review we will focus mainly on the function and signaling of RLKs in plant male-female interaction and discuss the future prospects on these topics.展开更多

The dye is compris...A new dual-state emission(DSE) dye comprised of tetraphenylethene(TPE), triphenylamine(TPA), and indoline groups has been synthesized, which showed efficient fluorescence in both solution and solid. The dye is comprised of three parts and these parts show different fluorescence properties which can be very useful in some applications since the dye can produce information-rich responses. For example, the dye is p H-sensitive in both solution and solid states, and it emits yellow fluorescence in normal p H and red/NIR fluorescence in acidic condition. Cytotoxicity of the dye is low at concentration of 3 μM which was confirmed by a methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT) experiment, and in vitro experiments revealed that the p H responsive performance can be used in bioimaging. It provides a novel p H-sensitive DSE dye ever reported, which has potential application in many fields.展开更多
