[ Method] A two-step method of explant and the T-DNA integration technique were employed to transform Lilium longiflorum via Agrobacterium mediated method. [ Result] The best infection effect appeared under the OD600 value of Agrobacterium within 0.6 -0.8, the addition of 250 mg/L AS could increase the transformation efficiency. The optimal concentration of G418 for screening is 50 mg/L. Some putative transgenic plants of Lilium longiflorum with resistance to G418 showed positive in PCR, preliminarily proving that T-DNA gene had integrated into the genome of lily. [ Conclusion] The study may lay a foundation for breeding excellent lily varieties through TDNA integration technique.展开更多

In spite of some early setbacks substantial progress has been made with treatment of ...Gene therapy is now a reality with a number of early phase clinical trials having been completed and several currently in progress. In spite of some early setbacks substantial progress has been made with treatment of several different diseases using a variety of delivery vectors and transgenes. Indeed for some diseases gene therapy is now the treatment of choice, in particular the inherited immune deficiencies. Treatment of ocular diseases and cancer are also showing great promise. Immune responses and insertional mutagenesis still pose problems but refinement of delivery systems and an increased understanding of oncogene activation should ensure that more successful protocols will emerge in the near future. Continuous progress suggests that a wider range of diseases can be treated with gene therapy in the future.展开更多

The results according to the plug-in m...In this paper, we use the plug-in and Whittle methods that are based on spectral regression analysis to test for the long memory property in 12 Asian/dollar daily exchange rates. The results according to the plug-in method show that with the exception of Chinese renminbi all series may have long memory properties. The results based on the Whittle method, on the other hand, show that only Japanese yen and Malaysian ringgit may have long memory properties. It is well known that inference about the differencing parameter, d, in presence of structural break in a series entails considerable difficulties. Therefore, given the financial crisis of 1997-1998 in Asia, further tests for unravelling of the memory property and presence of structural break in the exchange rate series are required.展开更多
