对“教学”关系及其意义的反思

“教”与“学”在我国长期被笼统地看作为“教学”。这种看似微小但却微妙的歧误有意无意地顺应并助长了以教为中心的教学意义 ,并在三纲五常的文化背景下形成了“重教轻学”的教学模式 ,至今妨碍着素质教育的推进和教学方式的变革。本文尝试澄清“教学”关系的认识歧误 ,对“教”与“学”关系作了新的探讨 ,为教育主体问题提供了结构性的认识角度。

Lecturers’Efforts in Building Rapport in the English-Medium Instruction(EMI)Context:Focus on the Use of Communication Strategies

Past studies reveal the prevalence of anxiety,coupled with low motivation and disengagement among students in English-medium instruction(EMI)programs.Given the detrimental impact these negative emotions can have on learning outcomes,it is imperative that teachers establish positive emotional rapport with their students.This study explores how experienced and highly rated EMI lecturers at a Chinese university’s overseas campus use communication strategies to build rapport with their students during interactive academic activities.It identifies the strategies used by these lecturers and examines how the strategies facilitate the teaching-learning process.The data,consisting of 10 hours of tutorials and 10 hours of supervisor-student supervision meetings,is analyzed using an adapted Conversation Analysis(CA)approach.The analysis reveals three types of communication strategies(CSs)frequently used by lecturers:back-channeling,codeswitching,and co-creation of messages.By employing these strategies,the lecturers established a strong rapport with the students,which created an encouraging and supportive learning environment.Consequently,this positive atmosphere facilitated students’learning of content knowledge through English.The findings of this study have implications for the training of lecturers who encounter difficulties in establishing rapport with multilingual students in the EMI setting.

Nurse trainees' perception of effective clinical instructor characteristics

Objectives:Clinical education and experience in the clinical environment play an important role in shaping the clinical experience.Effective clinical teaching improves the clinical practice of the nursing trainees which in turn improves the quality of patient care.It mandates for the clinical instructor with desired qualities,to have a positive influence in clinical education.This study examined nurse trainees'perceptions of clinical instructor characteristics.Methods:The current study was conducted in a multi-cultural tertiary setting using a cross-sectional descriptive design.Using convenience sampling,302 trainees were chosen as participants for the study,and there were 296 respondents.The data were collected from the participants using the Nursing Clinical Teacher Effectiveness Inventory(NCTEI)tool.Results:The findings of the study revealed that the clinical instructors have scored high in personality(scoring percentage=84.0%)and relatively low in teaching ability(scoring percentage=81.3%).Also,the overall perception was almost the same among all the trainees though there was a slight variation in their rating of each dimension.Conclusions:Nursing trainees indicated the instructors as having good personality and relatively low teaching ability.This mandates the clinical instructors in the clinical environment to empower themselves in this area of improvement.This helps the teaching institutions to consider all the domains of effective clinical instructor characteristics while recruitment and also organize programs giving emphasis on building and developing these characteristics to create effective instructors.

Teacher-Pupil Relationship in Implementing Modem Teaching Technologies

In the article, the features of using modern teaching tecnologies are investigated and results are revealed. The establishment of teacher-pupil relationships based on comfortable mutual trust and equal rights is the direct effect of proper and expedient use of innovative training technologies. Teaching technologies＇ features are explored, experiment examples are listed, and all these results are analysed in this article. In the article, modem teaching technologies＇ characteristic features are explored and the need of these features in teaching process with the teacher-pupil relationship is substantiated. Some conclusions were made to analyse all these points.

Student-teacher relationship is mostly determined by the first contact, as explained in Heider＇s attribution theory, because assigning attributes to other people and trying to understand their behavior is essential part of human nature. The Significance of Students＇ Personal Narratives in Teacher Training

Recognizing the importance of personal narratives in general and in the field of teacher training in particular this paper first presents a review of research in the field, offers several definitions and theories of analysis, and then provides readers with the personal narratives and the analyses of three fourth-year students in the Department of English at a College for Teacher Training. The goal is to find out, learn, and make use of the voices, attitudes, experiences, visions, successes, failures, hopes, and frustrations of students engaged in teacher education. The conclusion asserts the necessity of adopting a model of training which is based on students＇ personal narratives--one which encourages and strengthens partnership between students cooperating teachers, and academics

Flipping the College English Classroom

The flipped classroom is an emerging teaching mode which is originated from the United States and is now prevalent in many countries. It is helpful to build a more harmonious relationship between the teachers and the students, to enhance the students＇ self-study ability, to create a favorable learning environment, to realize the individualized teaching in class, and to improve the students＇ English ability. The study focuses on the college English classroom in China. The author tries to prove that the flipped classroom is a helpful way to improve the teaching and learning effect of college English classroom. A teaching procedure for the flipped college English classroom is designed in the hope of changing the current college English teaching condition.

Natural Philosophy, Inventions and Religion in the Correspondence between John Locke and Nicolas Toinard （1678-1704）

The paper examines the copious correspondence between the English philosopher John Locke （1632-1704） and the French intellectual Nicolas Toinard （1629-1706）; Locke made the acquaintance of Toinard in Paris in 1677 or early in 1678, and the latter remained his lifelong friend and most assiduous correspondent. An Orleanais and a devout Catholic, Toinard combined an intense interest in the Scriptures with an enthusiasm for experimental science and inventions of every kind; he introduced Locke to all the French official institutions and to a number of private laboratories. Toinard＇s principal work, Evangeliorum Harmonia Graeco-Latina, was greatly appreciated by Locke for its new method. The paper attempts to explore the bulk of this correspondence in detail, giving an account of the wide range of topics dealt with in the two hundred letters; it is divided into four paragraphs referring, respectively, to the years 1678-1679, 1679-1681, 1681-1686, and1686-1704. The perspective is diachronic; on some occasions, the focus is on a particular topic which is the object of prolonged discussion between the two correspondents. In the conclusion, attention is drawn to the relevance of this correspondence in the context of the 17th century and of Locke＇s philosophical thought.

Interactive Teaching in Interpersonal Skills

Engineers are very much part of the ongoing globalization and they are encountering problems of cross-disciplinary nature Team working skills respecting other peoples＇ qualifications are required so therefore interpersonal skills are becoming more and more important, including communications skills, leadership and awareness. Consequently, educational programs for teaching engineers should work with the fact that the capability of communicating with people with different background competences is important, nevertheless the engineering education has traditionally focused on technical skills rather than on personal development. In order to reform the B.Sc. courses to guide students to become better and more efficient engineers on all levels, the DTU （Technical University of Denmark） and Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences （Metropolia） modified their education according to the CDIO （conceive, design, implement and operate） approach in the autumn of 2008. The CDIO pedagogy encouraged to develop an interactive course in interpersonal skills, where the students have to take an active part in the exercises as well as involve themselves in the interactive communication process. The course consists of various exercises from which the participants will develop their awareness and knowledge of communication. It is the intention to give the students a personal understanding and idea of a different approach to communicating between people. The students evaluated the course, and the four key questions dealing with the quality of the course show a very high satisfaction with the instruction. The grades one and two （1 best/very much, 5 worst/very little） of the responses ＂to these four questions are ranging on average from 69.5% to 88% （on a yearly basis）. The positive responses indicate that the students are very satisfied with the course recognizing the need for education on international communication.

Research on the Cultivation of Avocation Interest Relationship and Enhancement in the Sports Teaching and Sports Training

In this paper, we conduct related research on the cultivation of avocation interest relationship and enhancement in the sports teaching and sports training. When studying initiative, even if encounter difficulties, will try hard to overcome which have the good mood. School physical education is the foundation of our socialist undertakings of physical culture and sports, sports teaching is an important part of school physical education. We firmly believe that through the reform according to the proposed methodology, the performance of the classes will be optimized.

Effects of two medicinal plants Psidium guajava L. (Myrtaceae) and Diospyros mespiliformis L. (Ebenaceae) leaf extracts on rat skeletal muscle cells in primary culture

Crude decoction, aqueous and ethanolic extracts of two medicinal plants （Psidiura guajava and Diospyros raespiliformis）, widely used in the central plateau of Burkina Faso to treat many diseases were evaluated for their antagonistic effects on caffeine induced calcium release from sarcoplasmic reticulum of rat skeletal muscle cells. These different extracts showed a decrease of caffeine induced calcium release in a dose dependent manner. Comparison of the results showed that Psidiura guajava leaf extracts are more active than extracts of Diospyros mespiliformis and that crude decoctions show better inhibitory activity. The observed results could explaine their use as antihypertensive and antidiarrhoeal agents in traditional medicine, by inhibiting intracellular calcium release.

Compare Differences Between Different Bible Translations in the View of Globalization： Illustrated by the Case of “ψυχη” in the New Testament

The purpose of Bible translation is to enable readers to fully understand what the Bible says in their own context. The different Bible translations use different translation principles, therefore, they show different translated results from each other. In general, translators will make translation choices between the “word-for-word translation” and “sense-for-sense translation”. A good translation usually has two translation choices and the difference is just which kind of choice to use more. In addition to this, whether the same word can be translated consistently is also worthy of being discussed, especially in the case of a proper noun or vocabulary with special meaning. If a vocabulary with special meaning in the Bible is translated into different words, it is not only impossible to clarify the conceptual connection or logical relationship between certain words in the Bible, but also makes it possible for readers who read different Bible translations to have the different understanding of the vocabulary. Under the influence of globalization, Christian communication has become more frequent. After different readers read different Bible translations, the problem of inconsistent understanding of the same word or paragraph will be gradually revealed. This article uses the Greek word “ψυχη” to explore the above issues. “ψυχη” is a vocabulary with special meaning in the New Testament and it is mostly discussed in the anthropology of Christian theology. This article compares three English Bible translations and six Chinese Bible translations on the Greek word “ψυχη” and then finds that the Greek word “ψυχη was translated into multiple different words in a single Bible translation and in different Bible translations. This situation shows that the difference in translation may make the readers of different Bible translations have different understandings after reading.

The Education of Students of Pedagogy With the Aim of Fostering Multiculturalism in a Community

The paper starts from the theoretical model of multiculturalism as a possibility for an individual to develop their own identity, to accept and respect the identity of other members of a community. The aim of this research is to determine how the students of pedagogy define the concept of multiculturalism and in how far they consider it to be current in contemporary social relationships. The survey was carried out using the descriptive method and the analysis of contents. It examined the attitudes of students who are preparing themselves for advisory work with children in elementary school and high school. The results of the research confirm that the pedagogy students define the concept of multiculturalism clearly. They recognize the need for upbringing that fosters multiculturalism in modern education, in order to gain extensive knowledge and use it in a particular situation.

SLA THEORY AND ENGLISH CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

Both language learning and language teaching should follow the natural law of language acquisition. It's an important task that we are facing to apply the fruits of SLA research to China's English teaching practice. This paper, based on the guidance of second language acquisition (SLA) theory, studies and explores the interaction of language acquisition and classroom instruction and effective classroom teaching methods.

The Application of the Semantic Field Theory in College English Vocabulary Instruction

词汇是语言的一个重要因素。本文研究语义场理论在大学英语词汇教学中的运用。作者首先探讨了如何建立各种语义关系,包括同义、反义、上下义等纵向语义关系及搭配、多义、隐喻等横向语义关系。然后,文章呈现了运用语义场理论进行词汇教学的综合教学过程。本研究的教学意义在于建立新词项的纵向语义关系可以帮助扩大学习者的词汇量;而建立新词项的横向语义关系可以加深学习者对词汇,尤其是其内涵及搭配的掌握。

ENHANCING COLLEGE STUDENTS' ACTIVE USE OF VOCABULARY—AN EMPIRICAL STUDY ON VOCABULARY IN COMPOSITIONS

基于词汇的网络关系模式有利于语言学习者通过聚合和组合的联想模式回忆并产出恰当的词汇的理论,本研究设计了一系列课堂教学活动,试图证明词汇联想的教学模式在很大程度上能促使学习者在写作中使用更加多样化的、词级更高的词汇。本研究采用了教育部新近发布的积极词汇表,对重庆大学非英语专业的两个自然班进行为期16周的实验。在实验前期和后期收集受试者作文共计500篇并输入计算机,建立电子语料库;然后将作文逐篇输入经过修正的LFP软件,得出每篇作文中各级词汇所占比例以及每篇作文的总词汇、不同词汇和词条的数量对比。对两个受试群体的对比研究发现两个群体之间存在显著差异(P=.00) ,证明词汇联想教学法能够丰富学习者写作中的词汇。
