The principle of X-ray nondestructive detection is analyzed, and a general system scheme of the high-speed X-ray nondestructive detector is proposed. The Virtex-4 series Fxl2 FPGA chip is used to design its hardware circuit, the PowerPC405 embedded system is developed, the high-speed image processing algorithm is applied to compile its processing software, and TCP/IP protocol is employed to compile the correspondence software, to realize high-speed X-ray signal gathering, processing and transmission. The experimental result indicated that the detector can be applied to the long-distance and on-line nondestructive detection of product line with Steel Wire Ropes in correlative industry field, such as mines, ports and wharfs. The running rate of the conveyer belt could achieve 6m/s when the survey width of the detector is 1.6 m. 展开更多

High permittivity and low dielectric loss analysis of lead free Sr_(1-x)La_x(Ti_(0.5) Fe_(0.5))O_3

The structural and electrical properties of lead free Srx-xLax(Tio.sFeo.5)O3 (SLTFO) prepared by standard solid state reaction technique were studied. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of a single-phase cubic perovskite structure. The compositional dependence of lattice constant, density and microstructural studies show that they vary significantly with La3+ content. When measured at 10 kHz, all the compositions of SLTFO at room temperature exhibit a high permittivity (about 104) and low dielectric loss (about 10-3). SLTFO also display minimum dielectric loss within the lower and higher limits of frequency, indicating that the samples are of good quality. It is concluded from the calculated ac conductivity that the conduction is due to mixed polarons hopping. The complex impedance plot exhibits a tendency of forming a single semicircular arc for all compositions, which implies a dominance of grain boundary resistance on the impedance. Impedance parameters were determined by fitting the experimental data with Cole-Cole empirical formula. The results of the present experiment indicate that the lead free SLTFO materials with higher permittivity and lower dielectric loss have possible practical applications. 展开更多

This is a mini-review-like article including our recent results and methods for (new) metal oxides and (previously reported) composite materials composed of metal complexes and metal oxides for comparison to enhance anisotropic structural changes intentionally. Some complex inorganic oxides are known that they may be promising color materials (absorbing visible light of certain wavelengths region) having potential application for environmentally benign catalysts, for example, photocatalysts. Chiral copper(Ⅱ) complexes having bidentate amine ligands ([CuL2]2+) can be acted as cationic building blocks of bimetallic metal complexes. We have prepared some chiral bimetallic complexes with various anionic metal complexes such as [PtCl4]2-, [M02O7]2 and Mn12 clusters (typical single-molecule magnets) which characterized by means of solid-state electronic and CD (circular dichroism) spectra, IR (infrared) spectra, synchrotron XRD (X-ray diffraction) and XAS (soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy). By sintering these precursor chiral bimetallic complexes, we have prepared complex inorganic oxides from them. The IR spectra indicated substituting metal-ligand bonds and losing organic moieties. The XRD pattern indicated complete changes of crystal structures. The XAS revealed replacing coordination atoms as well as oxidation of valences of metal ions. Furthermore, we will also investigate possibility of patterning by homogeneous precipitation method as bimetallic complexes to prepare desirable complex inorganic oxides. 展开更多

AIM: To explore the role of radio-frequency ablation (RFA) as a treatment for hilar cholangiocarcinoma. METHODS: Eleven patients with obstructive cholestasis underwent Computed Tomography (CT) examination, occupying lesions were observed in the hepatic hilar region in each patient. All lesions were confirmed as cholangioadenocarcinoma by biopsy and were classified as type or by percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography. Patients were treated with multiple electrodes RFA combined with other adjuvant therapy. The survival rate, change of CT attenuation coefficient of the tumor and tumor size were studied in these patients after RFA. RESULTS: In a follow-up CT scan one month after RFA, a size reduction of about 30% was observed in six masses, and two masses were reduced by about 20% in size, three of the eleven masses remained unchanged. In a follow-up CT scan 6 mo after RFA, all the masses were reduced in size (overall 35%), in which the most significant size reduction was 60%. The survival follow-up among these eleven cases was 18 mo in average. Ongoing follow-up showed that the longest survival case was 30 mo and the shortest case was 10 mo. CONCLUSION: RFA is a microinvasive and effective treatment for hilar cholangiocarcinoma. 展开更多

A novel flocculant based on hybrid coal gangue-polyacrylamide (HCGPAM) has been prepared by using modified coal gangue and polyacrylamide. Factors related to the preparation such as reaction time, temperature, concentration of the polymer monomer and ratio of initiators are investigated. The product is characterized by infrared spectra (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), as well as viscometry. The flocculating tests on oiffield drilling wastewater show that the removal efficiency is 85.5% and the light transmittance is 53.6%. The results indicate that the coal gangue could be used for the preparation of inorganic-organic hybrid flocculant and the removal efficiency is much higher than that of commercial polyacrylamide (PAM) or PAM/ coal gangue blend. 展开更多

DNA methylation is an important epigenetic regulatory mechanism that influences genomic stability, gene activation, X-chromosome inactivation and other factors. A change in DNA methylation is usually associated with aging and cellular senescence. DNA methyltransferase 1(DNMT1) is the most abundant DNA methyltransferase, and it plays an important role in maintaining the established methylation pattern during DNA replication in vertebrates. Although the effect of aging on DNA methylation has been well studied in vertebrates, little research has been conducted in invertebrates, especially in marine bivalves. In this study, we examined global DNA methylation levels in four groups of adult Zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri at different ages. The results showed that both the age and tissue type had a strong effect on the DNA methylation. In addition, a significant decrease in DNA methylation with aging(1–4 years) can be detected in mantle, kidney and hepatopancreas. We further measured the change in DNMT1 transcript abundance using quantitative reverse transcription PCR(q RT-PCR), which revealed that DNMT1 transcription significantly decreased with aging in mantle and hepatopancreas and strongly correlated with DNA methylation(R = 0.72). Our data provided greater insight into the aging-related decline of DNA methylation, which could aid in gaining a better understanding of the relationship between DNA methylation and the aging process in bivalve mollusks. 展开更多

Blazars are a special subclass of active galactic nuclei with extreme observation properties. This subclass can be divided into two further subclasses of flat spectrum radio quasars(FSRQs) and BL Lacertae objects(BL Lacs) according to their emission line features. To compare the spectral properties of FSRQs and BL Lacs, the 1.4 GHz radio, optical R-band, 1 keV X-ray, and 1 GeVy-ray flux densities for 1108 Fermi blazars are calculated to discuss the properties of the six effective spectral indices of radio to optical(α_(RO)), radio to X-ray(α_(RX)), radio to y ray(α_(Ry)), optical to X-ray(α_(OX)), optical to y ray(α_(Oy)), and X-ray to y ray(α_(Xy)).The main results are as follows: For the averaged effective spectral indices, α_(OX_> α_(Oy)> α_(Xy)> α_(Ry)> α_(RX)> α_(RO) for samples of whole blazars and BL Lacs; α_(Xy)≈α_(Ry)≈α_(RX) for FSRQs and low-frequency-peaked BL Lacs(LBLs); and α_(OX)≈α_(Oy)≈α_(Xy) for high-synchrotron-frequency-peaked BL Lacs(HBLs). The distributions of the effective spectral indices involving optical emission(α_(RO), α_(OX), and α_(Oy)) for LBLs are different from those for FSRQs, but if the effective spectral index does not involve optical emission(α_(RX), α_(Ry), and α_(Xy)), the distributions for LBLs and FSRQs almost come from the same parent population. X-ray emissions from blazars include both synchrotron and inverse Compton (IC) components; the IC component for FSRQs and LBLs accounts for a larger proportion than that for HBLs; and the radiation mechanism for LBLs is similar to that for FSRQs, but the radiation mechanism for HBLs is different from that for both FSRQs and LBLs in X-ray bands. The tendency of α_(Ry) decreasing from LBLs to HBLs suggests that the synchrotron self-Compton model explains the main process for highly energetic y rays in BL Lacs. 展开更多

Superconductivity is observed in a new nontoxic cuprate system Ga-Ba-Ca-Cu-O,with T_c=82 K for Ga Ba_2Ca_5Cu_6O_(14+δ)(Ga-1256)and T_c=116 K probably for Ga Ba_2Ca_3Cu_4O_(10+δ)(Ga-1234)or Ga Ba_2Ca_2Cu_3O_(8+δ)(Ga-1223),respectively.All compounds are fabricated by solid state reaction method under high pressure and high temperature.Samples are characterized by resistivity,magnetization and X-ray diffraction(XRD)measurements.The temperature dependence of magnetization measured in both zero-field-cooled and field-cooled processes on one sample(S1)shows two superconducting transitions at about 82 K and113 K.The estimated shielding fraction for the phase with T_cof 82 K is about 67%,while the fraction for another phase with T_(c )of 113 K is quite small.The XRD Rietveld refinement for S1 indicates two main phases existing in the sample,Ga-1256 with fraction of about 58%and non-superconducting Ca_(0.85)Cu O_2with fraction of about 42%respectively.Thus,we can conclude the superconducting phase with transition temperature of 82 K is due to Ga-1256.The resistivity measurement also confirms the superconductivity for S1,and the resistivity reaches zero at about 82 K.The temperature dependence of magnetization for another sample(S2)shows much higher superconducting shielding fraction for the phase with T_cof 116 K,which may be a promising prospective for the synthesis of Ga-1234 or Ga-1223 phase. 展开更多

XAFS analysis confirmed that the structure of ionic liquids gradually transformed from tetrahedral to octahedral configuration with the increase in ratio of H2O. Our results also showed that water molecules coordinated with the copper ions of [Bmim]2CuCl4, leading to the conformational change in ionic liquids. However, the XAFS spectra of [Bmim]zCuCIa/C2H5OH indicated no coordination of anhydrous ethanol with the copper ions of [Bmim]2CuC14. The structure of [Bmim]2CuCl4 ionic liquids is maintained as the tetrahedral configuration in presence of ethanol. Therefore, anhydrous ethanol causes little variation in the structure of ionic liquids and it is a good solvent for the dilution of ionic liquids. 展开更多
