He was admitted to other hospitals two years ago because of severe chest pain. A diagnosis of acute non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) was made. But the coronary angiography was refused by himself. After effective conservative treatment, he got better and discharged. A regular administration of aspirin, metoprolol and simvastatin was taken. No recurrent sympotoms occurred. However, he felt fatigue and palpitation after 30-m walking one week ago without predisposing factors.展开更多

An interesting negative refraction phenomenon has been observed in a bidomain system where one medium supports forwardly propagating waves (normal waves, NWs) and the other AWs. In this paper we find that negative refraction (NR) in nonlinear media has an asymmetric property, i.e., NR can be observed only by applying wave source with proper frequency to one medium, but not the other. Moreover, NR appears always when the incident waves are dense and the refractional waves are sparse. This asymmetry is a particular feature for nonlinear NR, which can neither be observed in linear refraction processes (both positive and negative refractions) nor in nonlinear positive refraction. The mechanism underlying the asymmetry of nonlinear NR are fully understood based on the competition of nonlinear waves.展开更多

As individuals, we can educate our students and their family members. The easiest way to do that is to monitor their weekly spending for them. Together with their family members, the students have to monitor the consumption of electrical energy through three weeks. In the first week, they should spend electricity as they do everyday. During the second week they have the increase of spending of electrical energy. The third week is the saving energy week. They have to make a plan with their family members on how to save energy, for example, turning offthe lights in the empty rooms, turning offthe TV when there is no one watching it, etc.. Every week they have to note the data in kilowatts. When they acquire all the information and transform it into money they can see if it's worth saving electrical energy or not. They will see they don't have to give up the comforts of the modern life. The value of the project is in the fact that many households continue with the electrical energy saving. In fact, the number of the households is increasing.展开更多

The functions of IL-1β have been extensively studied in many vertebrates. However, few studies focused on the functions of IL-1β in the spotted halibut (Verasper variegatus), an endangered aquatic fish that easily suffers from bacterial and viral infections. We first cloned and sequenced the IL-1β gene from V. variegatus (VvIL-1β). Its conservative interleukin-1 propeptide and interleukin-1/18 domains corresponding regions, characteristics of the IL-1 protein family and TA-rich motifs relating to inflammatory responses were similar to those of the IL-1β genes from other teleost and mammals. The phylogenetic analysis showed that VvIL-1β was homologous to the IL-1β gene of other vertebrates. Treatment with pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) induced a significant and rapid up-regulation of VvIL-1β expression in the peripheral blood leukocytes (PBLs), revealing that VvIL-1β is actively involved in the host ilmnune responses against bacterial and viral pathogens. The expression level of VvIL-1β was relatively high in the PBLs, gill, and intestine, indicating the immunological function of VvIL-1β . VvIL-1β also had interesting expression patterns at specific developmental stages, implying that the IL-1β of flatfishes may have some novel functions during embryonic development and metamorphosis. The 3D structure prediction also provided information about how VvIL-113 interacts with its receptor protein. These results suggested that VvIL-1β may have multiple functions in V. variegatus and provided us valuable information for understanding the novel functions of IL- 1β.展开更多

This study was designed to investigate the molecular mechanism, especially the signal transduction pathways, involved in this protective role of bFGF. Methods Anoxia-reoxygenation treated atrocytes were used to study the role of mitogen-activated protein kinase/extracellular signal-regulated kinase kinase (MAPK/ERK kinase, MEK)-ERK signaling pathway after exogenous bFGF administration by Western blot. Electrophoretic mobile shift assay was used to detect the binding activity of early growth response factor-1 (Egr-1), an important transcription factor for endogenous bFGF. Results bFGF could protect some signal transduction proteins from the oxygen-derived free radicals induced degradation. ERK1/2 was activated and involved in Egr-1 binding activity enhancement induced by exogenous bFGF. Conclusion MEK-ERK MAPK cascade may be an important signal transduction pathway contributed to bFGF induced enhancement of Egr-1 binding activity in anoxia-reoxygenation injured astrocytes.展开更多

Experts belonging to the fifth-generation(5 G) standardization committees are considering satellites as a technology to integrate in the 5 G environment. Software Defined Networking(SDN) is one of the paradigms of the next generation of mobile and fixed communications. It can be employed to perform different control functionalities, such as routing, because it allows traffic flow identification based on different parameters and traffic flow management in a centralized way. A centralized set of controllers makes the decisions and sends the corresponding forwarding rules for each traffic flow to the involved intermediate nodes that practically forward data up to the destination. The time to perform this process in integrated terrestrial-satellite networks could be not negligible due to satellite link delays. The aim of this paper is to introduce an SDN-based terrestrial satellite network architecture and to estimate the mean time to deliver the data of a new traffic flow from the source to the destination including the time required to transfer SDN control actions. The practical effect is to identify the maximum performance than can be expected.展开更多

Spaceborne seatterometers can provide global ocean surface vector wind products at high spatial resolution. However, given the limited spatial coverage and revisit time for an individual sensor, it is valuable to study improvements of multiple microwave scatterometer observations, including the advanced scatterometer onboard parallel satellites MetOp-A (ASCAT-A) and MetOp-B (ASCAT-B) and microwave scatterometers aboard Oceansat-2 (OSCAT) and HY-2A (HY2-SCAT). These four scatterometer-derived wind products over the China Seas (0°-40°N, 105°-135°E) were evaluated in terms of spatial coverage, revisit time, bias of wind speed and direction, after comparison with ERA-Interim forecast winds from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and spectral analysis of wind components along the satellite track. The results show that spatial coverage of wind data observed by combination of the four sensors over the China Seas is about 92.8% for a 12-h interval at 12:00 and 90.7% at 24:00, respectively. The analysis of revisit time shows that two periods, from 5:30-8:30 UTC and 17:00-21:00 UTC each day, had no observations in the study area. Wind data observed by the four sensors along satellite orbits in one month were compared with ERA-Interim data, indicating that bias of both wind speed and direction varies with wind speed, especially for speeds less than 7 m/s. The bias depends on characteristics of each satellite sensor and its retrieval algorithm for wind vector data. All these results will be important as guidance in choosing the most suitable wind product for applications and for constructing blended SSW products.展开更多
