目的探究“智教”+“慧学”混合式教学在中西医结合内科实习教学中的应用效果。方法按照随机原则,将2019级中西医临床医学专业一班的54名实习生纳入对照组,给予传统教学;另将2019级中西医临床医学专业二班的56名实习生纳入观察组,给予... 目的探究“智教”+“慧学”混合式教学在中西医结合内科实习教学中的应用效果。方法按照随机原则,将2019级中西医临床医学专业一班的54名实习生纳入对照组,给予传统教学;另将2019级中西医临床医学专业二班的56名实习生纳入观察组,给予“智教”+“慧学”混合式教学。实习6个月后,比较两组实习生理论考核成绩(基础理论知识、专业理论知识)、临床实践能力[列斯特评估量表(Leichester assessment package,LAP)]、教学满意度。采用SPSS 17.0进行t检验和卡方检验。结果实习结束时,观察组实习生基础理论知识[(41.53±3.42)vs.(38.71±3.38)]、专业理论知识[(39.49±3.14)vs.(37.85±3.07)],LAP评分总分[(84.32±6.65)vs.(78.46±6.17)]及各分项评分,以及教学满意度均高于对照组(P均<0.05)。结论“智教”+“慧学”混合式教学能够加强中西医结合学科实习生掌握理论知识,提高实习生临床实践能力和教学满意度。 展开更多

Objectives: To investigate the adversity quotient (AQ) of Macao undergraduate nursing students and analyse its influencing factors.Methods:A cross-section design was used,and a convenience sample of nursing students(n=158 valid)was selected from a tertiary institute in Macao.In addition to demographic questions,the Chinese versions of the Adversity Quotient Scale,the Emotional Intelligence(EI)Scale,the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and the Parenting Styles Scale were used to assess the students'characteristics.Results:The average AQ score of the students was 116.72±11.39.AQ scores were negatively correlated with coping-negative,and maternal style(excessive interference,excessive protection)(r=-0.332,P<0.001;r=-0.167,P=0.036).Coping-negative entered the regression equation(F=19.154,P<0.001).The female nursing students had higher scores in ownership dimension of AQ than their male counterparts(31.98±3.26 vs.29.21±3.08,t=-4.442,P<0.001).Conclusions:The average AQ scores of Macao undergraduate nursing students were moderate.The female nursing students are more likely to attribute the cause of adversity to themselves,and specific psychosocial and cultural issues may be at play.There is a necessity for Macao nursing students to improve their ability to overcome setbacks.Special attention should be paid to the cultivation of students'positive coping styles. 展开更多

Today, younger generation is more attached to technology, immerging it mostly for social purposes. Therefore, the importance of its existence cannot be ignored. For that, it is the time for every mentor to apply technology to education. Instructors from different majors need to realize that integrating technology into education is a powerful tool that helps them moderate their course, but never a replacement to their existence. This paper's interest is to deliver a personal experience to other instructors on how to correctly use technology for educational purposes. One way of clarifying this point is to shed light on a very common social application that is WhatsApp. It is a social application available on every smartphone that is usually used as a social medium among users from different generation. This paper used WhatsApp as an application that can associate technology with leaming and teachers' moderation and collaboration under one roof, and that is by applying Mobile learning. One main question to rise at this point is whether students are going to be collaborative or not with their teacher in applying technology into education. There will be an anticipated approach from this paper on both Mobile learning and WhatsApp, that is to reach an agreement that Mobile learning is essential and adds value to the educational material we have in hand. Great examples from my own data are going to be presented to encourage others to predict new ways that can be added to my effort and others as well. The result hoped for after this paper is to be able to answer any digital immigrants' questions and help them to be more confident with technology. 展开更多

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the emerging m-learning in the form of smart phones in English grammar teaching. The research mainly traces revision process of 100 sophomore students using traditional paperwork practice and smart-phone-based revision methods during half semester of grammar learning. During the research, students' learning performances, as well as their self-report reflections, are recorded, compared, and analyzed. Statistics from the research show that students in general prefer the m-learning revision methods than the traditional paper ones. Besides, the modem methods do play an essential role in motivating students' learning initiatives, and thus resulting in better learning outcomes. However, on the other hand, some of the students surveyed also demonstrate their negative impression on the m-learning methods, in that they believe this modem technology can inevitably distract them from learning and there are also some technical problems to be worked out. 展开更多

This study investigates the relationship of learning strategies and styles on language learning and shows how different learning materials according to students' adoptions of them. And it especially focuses on analyzing and understanding how M.I. (Multiple Intelligences), as a strategy, influence on language learning. For research method, this study adopts the observations of the classroom teachings and interviews with the students. As a result, the findings show that first, there are not enough clear explanation on relationship of strategies and styles, but overall, certain factors as verbal-linguistic and interpersonal intelligences help language learners improve their language ability. Second, the use of learning strategies has a positive effect on language learning. Third, the use of learning strategies can be trained and encouraged in language classrooms. Fourth, the appropriate learning materials should be selected according to learners' strategies and styles so that learning is more effective and successful. In 1983, Horward Gardner, a professor of education at Harvard Universiy introduced the theory of Multiple Intelligence. This theory states that people have a unique blend of capabilities and skills (intelligences). In the classroom context, it implies that students possess different kinds of minds and therefore learn, remember, perform, and understand in different ways. Based on the theory, Gardner challenged the previous practices that gauged intelligence using IQ test which focused more on the ability to use language and/or logic. According to him, the measurement of people's intelligence should not be limited to linguistic and logical-mathematical abilities only, but should also cover other abilities. In addition to language and logic, Gardner proposed six other intelligences, which in the past were known as aptitudes or interests, namely: Visual-Spatial Intelligence, Musical Intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, and Naturalist Intelligence. As an English teacher, we often have to deal with the fact that our classes consist of students who posses different intelligences. To help the students reach their maximum learning potential, teacher needs to respect students' uniqueness and accommodate the variety of intelligences. Different from previous research, this study emphasized TRP's integrative and holistic functions of intelligent analysis, intelligent scoring, and intelligent comment on writing pieces. In what follows, this paper conducted a study of intelligent essay scoring system related to intelligent analysis, intelligent scoring, and intelligent comment of the writing pieces. Also, this paper provided a literature review of existing computer-assisted essay scoring systems and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of them. Based on these findings in our research, we can conclude that the integrative and holistic computer-assisted TRP can effectively analyze, score, and comment essays, consequently enhancing the writing performance. Some useful implications from this study include that the computer-assisted TRP should be further integrated with writing learning and instruction 展开更多

AIM: To evaluate rational and experiential intelligence in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) sufferers. METHODS: We recruited 100 subjects with IBS as per Rome 11 criteria (50 consulters and 50 non-consulters) and 100 healthy controls, matched by age, sex and educational level. Cases and controls completed a clinical questionnaire (including symptom characteristics and medical consultation) and the following tests: rational- intelligence (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, 3rd edition); experiential-intelligence (Constructive Thinking Inventory); personality (NEO personality inventory); psychopathology (MMPI-2), anxiety (state-trait anxiety inventory) and life events (social readjustment rating scale). Analysis of variance was used to compare the test results of IBS-sufferers and controls, and a logistic regression model was then constructed and adjusted for age, sex and educational level to evaluate any possible association with IBS. RESULTS: No differences were found between IBS cases and controls in terms of IQ (102.0 ± 10.8 vs 102.8 ± 12.6), but IBS sufferers scored significantly lower in global constructive thinking (43.7± 9.4 vs 49.6 ± 9.7). In the logistic regression model, global constructive thinking score was independently linked to suffering from IBS [OR 0.92 (0.87-0.97)], without significant OR for total IQ. CONCLUSION: IBS subjects do not show lower rational intelligence than controls, but lower experiential intelligence is nevertheless associated with IBS. 展开更多

This paper discusses the impact of the innovation in making use of business intelligence (BI) concepts about production records of a publishing area in a higher education institution (HEI) that promotes distance education (DE) in Brazil, helping the industry in their managements decisions, having a target minimize time on production of learning material through more effective control with the use of cubes in the form of reports for metric queries of delivery delays and metrics on the production tasks financial values, and filtering the processed information so that managers can view information from various angles and managerial perspectives. The objectives of this paper are to demonstrate the impact on using BI concepts in the process of an editorial department of a HEI focusing on the development of teaching materials for the courses of DE and identify the financial cost-benefit ratio for the HEI with the deploying BI in a software fee platform in its publishing department. This paper reports an investigation into the relationships between global trait emotional intelligence(Trait EI), as well as the four factors that constitute it(well-being, emotionality, self-control, and sociability)... This paper reports an investigation into the relationships between global trait emotional intelligence(Trait EI), as well as the four factors that constitute it(well-being, emotionality, self-control, and sociability), and quantitative data from 513 experienced ESL/EFL teachers from around the world about their love of English, their attitudes towards their students and institution, their self-reported classroom practices, their enjoyment, unpredictability and creativity. The results showed significant positive correlations. The analyses revealed that global Trait EI, well-being and sociability were significantly positively correlated with most dependent variables while emotionality and self-control were significantly correlated with a number of dependent variables. Global Trait EI and emotionality were significantly positively linked to the English proficiency of English foreign language users but not to that of the English L1 users. The pedagogical implication is that having a sufficient level of Trait EI helps teachers deal effectively with their own and their students’ emotions. 展开更多
