A trial study of vibration-induced effects on the spontaneous potential

Vibrator excitation generates not only reflections and refractions of wave fields on the subsurface interfaces but also electromagnetic waves with different frequencies. In this paper, we address the vibration-induced effects on the spontaneous potential field. The effects of controllable vibration on the spontaneous potential field were studied under real field geologic conditions. Experimental data confirmed that the vibration-induced effects on the spontaneous potential field do exist under field conditions. Monitoring records over a long time interval showed that there exist three information zones in the vibration-induced effects on the spontaneous potential field. These are the signal-varying zone, the extremestable zone, and the relaxation-recovery zone. Combined with different well-site data, it was concluded that the time-varying features of the anomalies in the information zones was closely related to the properties of the subsurface liquid (oil and water). 展开更多

Distributional Effects of Transport Taxes: An Incidence Analysis

Wider use of economic instruments in the field of environmental and energy policy provides several benefits. These instruments not only create market-based incentives for environmentally friendly behaviors but also represent effective opportunities to collect revenues. In this context, energy and transport-related taxes play a major role, even if their extensive use has raised several concerns over equity issues. The main objective of the paper is to investigate the redistributive burden of existing transport taxes on Italian households. An incidence analysis is carried out on a sample of more than 23,000 Italian families for the year 2009. Some alternative policy options are also analyzed to provide some suggestions on how to countervail the potential negative regressive effects that might arise. We find that vehicle ownership taxes, if properly set, can represent a promising opportunity to blend together budget and equity needs. To obtain a better indication of the progressivity or regressivity of certain policy designs, we rely on some summary indexes, such as the Kakwani measure of progressivity and the Reynolds-Smolensky measure of redistributive capacity of a tax. 展开更多

Enhancing Cooperation in N-Person Social Dilemma Game: Interactive Effects of Limitation and Cost for Job Change and Incentive on Cooperation

The non-cooperative action in the social dilemma situation might, at the worst case, lead to violation of social rules (or regulations). A repetitive N-person social dilemma game that permit the participants to change jobs between organizations (groups) and mutually interact between groups was carried out to investigate how "limitation for job change", "cost for job change", and "incentive (enhancement of personal career)" affected the cooperation. The cost for job change effectively worked for the enhancement of cooperation. When the cost for job change was not necessary, the cooperative behavior was enhanced. When the cost for job change was necessary, it tended that a non-cooperative action was selected. When the limitation and the cost for job change were imposed, and the participants were provided with the incentive for cooperation, the cooperation rate was the highest. A significant interaction between the incentive condition (enhancement of personal career) and the limitation for job change was also clarified. 展开更多

The green-emitting fluorescent powders of nano Y2O3:Er^3+ were fabricated by the coprecipitation method. The X-ray diffrac- tion pattern shows that as-prepared Y2O3:Er^3+ is the cubic phase crystal with a grain size of about 30 nm. The UV-Vis spec- trum indicates Y^O3:Er^3+ exhibits five ultraviolet visible absorption peaks at 365, 377, 489, 521 and 652 nm respectively. Meanwhile, the fluorescence spectra of Y2O3:Er^3+ display four emission peaks at 522, 537, 550 and 562 nm at the excitation of 365,377 and 521 nm, respectively. The green-emitting fluorescent mechanism of Y2O3:Er^3+ is proposed as well. Additionally, the temperature dependence of fluorescence properties and metal Ag fluorescence enhancement effect are investigated. Results show that increasing the annealing temperature and metal Ag doping both can enhance the fluorescence intensity. The maxi- mum enhancement is 87.5% after Ag is doped. 展开更多
