[Objective] The study was to explore the major factors affecting diary cattle brucellosis risk assessment,as well as their strong-to-weak sequence,so as to provide theoretical basis for assessing diary cattle brucellosis risk level in different regions.[Method] From 4 dimensions of feeding and importing, breeding, housing and polyculture situation,an evaluation index system was set up,and diary cattle brucellosis risk survey was conducted in 3 typical regions. Finally, systematic multilevel grey relation entropy method was applied to perform data analysis.[Result] The strong-to-weak sequence of Level 1 impact factor of diary cattle brucellosis was as follows:feeding and importinghousingpolyculture situationbreeding;the sequence of Level 2 impact factor was U32〉U12〉U11〉U31〉U21〉U42〉U43〉U23〉U22〉U41;the risk level sequence of 3 typical regions was Province A(County A1,A2,A3)Province B(County B1,B2,B3)Province C(County C1,C2,C3).[Conclusion] According to the weight of Level 1 index strata, administrative departments at all levels and dairy cattle farmers should lay emphasis on the aspects of feeding, importing and housing;viewed from the perspective of Level 2 index strata, dairy cattle farmers should value the siting of cattle field, the brucellosis surveillance before importing and milking modes most.According to the diary cattle brucellosis risk level of 3 typical regions,if administrative departments at all levels strengthen peoples' awareness of their personal health and increase investment in this area, with new healthy cultured atmosphere built, the risk level of diary cattle brucellosis will surly decline. 展开更多

According to the theory of Chinese veterinary medicine and characteristics of Chinese herbal medicine, four different preparations of compound Chinese medicine "Zengrujianniusan" were composed, and the prepared water decoction was used to carry on the bacteriostatic test on main pathogens of cow recessiveness mastitis. The results showed that the four different prescriptions of water decoction all had antibacterial effects. The prescription 3 was sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus agalactiae, while the other three prescriptions showed high sensitivity, and the prescription 3 had the strongest bacteriostatic effects. 展开更多

In this research,36 cows with clinical mastitis were treated with the Chinese herb injection Ruyuankang which was developed by our group.Milk samples of pre and post treatment of Ruyuankang were collected for isolation and characterization of pathogenic bacteria. The dynamic changes of pathogenic bacteria were investigated as well. The results indicated that Ruyuankang could effectively inhibit the common pathogenic bacteria of mastitis which result in the negative rate of pathogenic bacteria 71.74%. 展开更多

The effect of two fermented milks (FMI, FM2) with lactic acid bacteria and Bifidobacteria on the intestine mucosa was studied. BALB/c mice were divided in groups of non-sensitized or sensitized by oral route to cow's milk or colonized by FM1 [10^7 cfu/mL ofBifidobacterium longum (Bfl) and 10^8 cfu/mL of Streptococcus thermophillus (Stl)] and sensitized by oral route to cow's milk or colonized by FM2 [10^7 cfu/mL of Bfl and 10^7 cfu/mL ofLactobacillusplantarum (LbO)] and sensitized to cow's milk. Blood was sampled and the amount of anti-β-Lactoglobulin (β-Lg) IgG was measured. Mice were sacrificed, fragments of their intestines were isolated to inspect the structural changes of intestinal mucosa. A significant anti-β-Lg response was elicited by oral sensitization in positive control compared to other groups. Inspection of villi structural changes reveal signs of inflammation in challenged group compared with FM1 and FM2 groups, which conserved long villi characteristic of negative controls. The colonization of intestines by BfI-StI and BfI-LbO, and the evaluation of the residual antigenicity of β-Lg in mice sensitized to bovine milk by oral route followed by histological studies, revealed that FM1 and FM2 play protective role and reduce the histological lesions typical of bovine milk allergy. 展开更多

Calf mortality is one of important problems of calf rearing in dairy farms worldwide. Besides, several noninfectious factors, such as management around birth, colostrum management, calf housing, feeding system, hygiene and pathogens, play an important role in calf rearing. The aim of the study was to show the most common causes of mortality of calves up to 90 d of their lives. Some data are available concering calf rearing management on small and medium size dairy farm typical for Polish regions. The research was conducted in seven selected herds of Polish Holstein-Friesian cows located in South of Poland. Data on calves mortality covered the period of three years from 2004 to 2007 and were collected using medical documentation and medical inquire in the farms. All evidence was enrolled untill three months of age of calves. There were 1,800 calves tested. The influence of such factors as maintaining system (free stalls barn and stalls barns), feeding systems and herd size on falls of calves was examined. Overall, mortality throughout the three months of study period was diarrhea, which increased the risk of death among calves younger than 90 d of age. Also, respiratory system disorders were the common cause of loss of calves. The calf mortality rate during 90 d in all herds registered in free stall barns was 61% and in stalls barns was only 29%. Effect of pneumonia in free stall barns was 18% and in stall barns was 29%. In all groups, calf mortality rates increased with increasing herd size. 展开更多
