The objects in the core and boundary regions, generated by shadowed sets-based clustering, have different impact on the prototype of each cluster. By integrating feature weights, a formula for weight calculation is introduced to the clustering algorithm. The selection of weight exponent is crucial for good result and the weights are updated iteratively with each partition of clusters. The convergence of the weighted algorithms is given, and the feasible cluster validity indices of data mining application are utilized. Experimental results on both synthetic and real-life numerical data with different feature weights demonstrate that the weighted algorithm is better than the other unweighted algorithms.展开更多

To accelerate the information exchanges between check nodes and variable nodes, the bit-flipping step and the check node updating step of the original algorithm are parallelized. The simulation experiments demonstrate that the improved PWBF algorithm provides about 0. 1 to 0. 3 dB coding gain over the original PWBF algorithm. And the improved algorithm achieves a higher convergence rate. The choice of the threshold is also discussed, which is used to determine whether a bit should be flipped during each iteration. The appropriate threshold can ensure that most error bits be flipped, and keep the right ones untouched at the same time. The improvement is particularly effective for decoding quasi-cyclic low-density paritycheck(QC-LDPC) codes.展开更多

The use of regularization parameters in the proposed method reduces the deviations between calculated and observed data. We also use the depth weighting function based on the eigenvector of gravity gradient tensor to eliminate undesired effects owing to the fast attenuation of the position function. Model data suggest that the extrapolated Tikhonov regularization in conjunction with the depth weighting function can effectively recover the 3D distribution of density anomalies. We conduct density inversion of gravity gradient data from the Australia Kauring test site and compare the inversion results with the published research results. The proposed inversion method can be used to obtain the 3D density distribution of underground anomalies.展开更多

In this study, to obtain...Subcellular location is one of the key biological characteristics of proteins. Position-specific profiles (PSP) have been introduced as important characteristics of proteins in this article. In this study, to obtain position-specific profiles, the Position Specific lterative-Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (PSI-BLAST) has been used to search for protein sequences in a database. Position-specific scoring matrices are extracted from the profiles as one class of characteristics. Four-part amino acid compositions and lst-7th order dipeptide compositions have also been calculated as the other two classes of characteristics. Therefore, twelve characteristic vectors are extracted from each of the protein sequences. Next, the characteristic vectors are weighed by a simple weighing function and inputted into a BP neural network predictor named PSP-Weighted Neural Network (PSP-WNN). The Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is employed to adjust the weight matrices and thresholds during the network training instead of the error back propagation algorithm. With a jackknife test on the RH2427 dataset, PSP-WNN has achieved a higher overall prediction accuracy of 88.4% rather than the prediction results by the general BP neural network, Markov model, and fuzzy k-nearest neighbors algorithm on this dataset. In addition, the prediction performance of PSP-WNN has been evaluated with a five-fold cross validation test on the PK7579 dataset and the prediction results have been consistently better than those of the previous method on the basis of several support vector machines, using compositions of both amino acids and amino acid pairs. These results indicate that PSP-WNN is a powerful tool for subcellular localization prediction. At the end of the article, influences on prediction accuracy using different weighting proportions among three characteristic vector categories have been discussed. An appropriate proportion is considered by increasing the prediction accuracy.展开更多

The APSO survey results indicate that the time series of APSO with different time-sections are periodical and self-similar, and the fluctuation of the APSO increases with the decrease in time-sections. Taking the short-time change behavior into account, an APSO forecasting model combined wavelet analysis and a weighted Markov chain is presented. In this model, an original APSO time series is first decomposed by wavelet analysis, and the results include low frequency signals representing the basic trends of APSO and several high frequency signals representing disturbances of the APSO. Then different Markov models are used to forecast the changes of low and high frequency signals, respectively. Finally, integrating the predicted results induces the final forecasted APSO. A case study verifies the applicability of the proposed model. The comparisons between measured and forecasted results show that the model is a competent model and its accuracy relies on real-time update of the APSO database.展开更多

On the basis of multi-resolution wavelet analysis, an adaptive radar emitter signal recognition method based on multi-scale wavelet entropy feature extraction and feature weighting was proposed. With the only priori knowledge of signal to noise ratio(SNR), the method of extracting multi-scale wavelet entropy features of wavelet coefficients from different received signals were combined with calculating uneven weight factor and stability weight factor of the extracted multi-dimensional characteristics. Radar emitter signals of different modulation types and different parameters modulated were recognized through feature weighting and feature fusion. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the presented algorithm has a high recognition rate. Additionally, when the SNR is greater than-4 d B, the correct recognition rate is higher than 93%. Hence, the proposed algorithm has great application value.展开更多
