This paper presents an improved unstructured grid immersed boundary method.The advantages of both immersed boundary method and body fitted grids which are generated by unstructured grid technology are used to enhance the computation efficiency of fluid structure interaction in complex domain.The Navier-Stokes equation was discretized spacially with collocated finite volume method and Euler implicit method in time domain.The rigid body motion was simulated by immersed boundary method in which the fluid and rigid body interface interaction was dealt with VOS(volume of solid) method.A new VOS calculation method based on graph was presented in which both immersed boundary points and cross points were collected in arbitrary order to form a graph.The method is verified with flow past oscillating cylinder. 展开更多

Practical techniques for smooth geodesic patterning of membrane structures were investigated.For the geodesic search,adjustment of the subplane of the extracted elements series was proposed,and various spline approximation methods were used to flatten the strip for the generation of a smooth pattern.This search approach is very simple,and the geodesic line could be easily attained by the proposed method without the need for a difficult computation method.Smooth cutting patterning can also be generated by spline approximation without the noise in discrete nodal information.Additionally,the geodesic cutting pattern saved about 21%of the required area for the catenary model due to the reduction of the curvature of the planar pattern seam line. 展开更多

The chemical synthesis of Guanine arabinoside (ara-G) is extremely complex, time-consuming, and seriously polluted. A two-step enzymatic synthesis process was developed to acquire ara-G easily. 2,6-Diaminopurine arabinoside (ara-DA) was first synthesized with purine nucleoside phosphorylase and pyrimidine nucleoside phosphorylase produced by Enterobacter aerogenes DGW-07. The conversion yield of ara-DA could reach above 90% when the reaction liquid contained 30 mmol·L^-1 uracil arabinoside as arabinose donor, 10 mmol·L^- 1 2,6-diaminopurine as arabinose acceptor in pH 7.0 20 mmol·L^-1 phosphate buffer, and reacted at 60℃ for 48h. Then, ara-DA was effectively transformed into ara-G with adenylate deaminase produced by Aspergillus oryzae DAW-01. The total process had no complex separation and purification. 展开更多

In order to evaluate the effects of mesh generation techniques and grid convergence on pump performance in centrifugal pump model, three widely used mesh styles including structured hexahedral, unstructured tetrahedral and hybrid prismatic/tetrahedral meshes were generated for a centrifugal pump model. And quantitative grid convergence was assessed based on a grid convergence index(GCI), which accounts for the degree of grid refinement. The structured, unstructured or hybrid meshes are found to have certain difference for velocity distributions in impeller with the change of grid cell number. And the simulation results have errors to different degrees compared with experimental data. The GCI-value for structured meshes calculated is lower than that for the unstructured and hybrid meshes. Meanwhile, the structured meshes are observed to get more vortexes in impeller passage.Nevertheless, the hybrid meshes are found to have larger low-velocity area at outlet and more secondary vortexes at a specified location than structured meshes and unstructured meshes. 展开更多

The fluidized bed chemical vapor deposition (FBCVD) method is a most promising alternative to conventional ones, but the homogeneous reaction of silane in FBCVD results in unwanted formation of fines, which will affect the product qualityand output. There are some other problems, such as heating degeneration due to undesired polysilicon deposition on the walls of the reactor and the heater. This article mainly reviews the technological development on FBCVD of polycrystalline silicon and the research status for solving the above problems. It also identifies a number of challenges to tackle and principles should be followed in the design ofa FBCVD reactor. 展开更多

Rising worldwide cancer incidence and resistance to current anti-cancer drugs necessitate the need for new pharmaceutical compounds and drug delivery system. Malfunction of the immune system, particularly in the tumor microenvironment, causes tumor growth and enhances tumor progression. Thus, cancer immunotherapy can be an appropriate approach to provoke the systemic immune system to combat tumor expansion. Texosomesj which are endogenous nanovesicles released by all tumor cells, contribute to cell-cell communication and modify the phenotypic features of recipient cells due to the texosomes' ability to transport biological components. For this reason, texosome-based delivery system can be a valuable strategy for therapeutic purposes. To improve the pharmaceutical behavior of this system and to facilitate its use in medical applications, biotechnology approaches and mimetic techniques have been utilized. In this review, we present the development history oftexosome-based delivery systems and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each system. 展开更多

Simulating Long Waves in a Coifs Harbour 3D Physical Model Using Short Wave Spectra

This paper presents examples of field data of extreme seiche waves measured at Coffs Harbour by MHL and describes the generation and measuring methodology to detect and reduce seiche agitation in the Coifs Harbour boat ramp using a 3D physical model. The paper also discusses the techniques in investigating a short wave problem of stability in the same model where a long wave is simulated. Waves offshore of Coffs Harbour at 80 m depth have been recorded by MHL for a period of over 30 years. Long waves have been simultaneously measured in the harbour over a period of a decade. These data enabled the model to be verified on two dates (4/6/12, 5/9/14) when high long waves were recorded at the boat ramp harbour under storm and non-storm conditions. Long waves are generated in harbours due to group bounded long wave and surf beat or edge waves. The paper presents methodologies of generating long waves both numerically and by using physical models, and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of these generation techniques. Numerical modelling carried out using long period regular waves in a previous investigation predicted reductions up to 50% due to change of planform of the boat ramp harbour where an area next to the boat ramp was excavated and roughness elements introduced to dampen long periods. The 3D physical model simulated a 25% decrease in the long wave energy in the boat ramp when a suitable change in the planform was made. A 3D undistorted model of scale 1:58 was used in the investigation. 展开更多

Several bacterial strains of Actinomycetes belonging to Streptomyces and Arthrobacter genera for the first time were used to study the biotechnology of synthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles. The experimental conditions of gold and silver nanoparticles production by the cells of studied strains in aqueous chloroauric acid (HAuCIq) and in silver nitrate (AgNO3) solutions, respectively, were determined. Concentration and time-dependences of nanoparticle formation were investigated. The complex of optical and analytical methods was used for testing the gold and silver nanoparticles in the bacterial biomass. The TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) and XRD (X-ray Diffraction) data in all cases demonstrated the presence of crystals with fcc (face centered cubic) structure. The results obtained show that the Actinomycetes are capable of producing gold and silver nanoparticles of spherical shape extracellularly when exposed to suitable compounds. The particle size distribution shows that the sizes of nanoparticles are in the range of 5 nm to 80 nm. The biomass obtained may be used for industrial as well as medical and pharmaceutical purposes. 展开更多

These compounds are useful intermediates for enzymatic synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients Nelarabine and Cladribine. The starting material--commercially avaliable guanosine--was acetylated with acetic anhydride, yielding 2,3,5-tri-O-acetylguanosine, which was further deoxyhalogenated with phosphorous oxychloride in presence of tetraethylammonia chloride. Diazotization of the resulting intermediate with tert-butylnitrite leads to the corresponding ribofuranosyl-substituted 2,6-dichloropurine, which was converted to 6-chloroadenosine by reaction with methanolic ammonia. 展开更多
