A monoclonal antibody (MAb) specific for the bluetongue virus (BTV) group specific antigen (VP7) was characterized for its reactivity with purified virus and recombinant BTV VP7 (rVP7) protein and its suitability for ...A monoclonal antibody (MAb) specific for the bluetongue virus (BTV) group specific antigen (VP7) was characterized for its reactivity with purified virus and recombinant BTV VP7 (rVP7) protein and its suitability for use in the sandwich ELISA.The MAb,designated as 5B5 was specific to VP7 and belongs to IgG2a subclass and was selected for the development of the sELISA in this study.The MAb had a titer of 1:25 with BTV and 1:2 with the rVP7 protein.The sELISA is based on capturing of BTV antigen with VP7 specific MAb followed by detection using BTV polyclonal antiserum raised in rabbits.The assay was evaluated with six cell culture adapted serotypes of BTV that have been isolated from India,1,2,15,17,18 and 23.The assay could detect BTV antigen as early as day 8 in blood.It was also successfully applied for the detection of BTV group specific antigen in clinical samples of blood,washed RBCs,buffy coat and plasma.A total of 102 field samples from animals,suspected of being infected with BTV,were tested and 29.42% were positive.The blood samples were also amplified in cell culture which improved the sensitivity of the assay.Results confirmed that the sELISA is rapid and specific.展开更多

All these clones were characterized for their reactivity to whole virus and recombinant BTV-VP7 protein,titres,isotypes and their reactivity with 24 BTV-serotype specific sera in cELISA. Out of 24 clones,a majority of them (n = 18) belong to various IgG subclasses and the remaining (n = 6) to the IgM class. A panel of eight clones reactive to both whole BTV and purified rVP7 protein were identified based on their reactivity in iELISA. For competitive ELISA,the clone designated as 4A10 showed better inhibition to hyperimmune serum of BTV serotype 23. However,this clone showed a variable percent of inhibition ranging from16.6% with BTV 12 serotype to 78.9% with BTV16 serotype using 24 serotype specific sera of BTV originating from guinea pig at their lowest dilutions. The following st...Previous studies have shown that children learn from educational television; however, these studies have not explored how closely the educational content of the program is integrated to the narrative. The following study uses a systematic content analysis of 100 top-rated U.S. children's television programs to explore the tangential relationship (i.e., distance) of narrative and educational content through the lens of the capacity model--which is built upon three basic components: narrative content, educational content, and the distance between them. Programs were analyzed for distance by examining lesson clarity and integration, show type, target audience age, and station type. One-way ANOVAs indicates significant differences between the means of these variables. Programs targeting younger children presented educational content that was closely integrated into the plotline of the program and helped further the story. However, as the target audience aged, the educational content became more tangential to the narrative content and was less tied to the plotline of the program.展开更多

In this paper, one of these topics, law of marriage is selected for our analysis, in which the interlocutors intend to discuss about the debate among people towards the new addition of marriage law. Corresponding to the development of every aspects of Chinese society, people's ideology, mindsets, and attitudes towards marriage are constantly changing; consequently, some traditional values are collapsed. Therefore, it is of great significance to have an insight into the ongoing changes of peoples' value towards marriage. The participants of this discourse cooperate very well to carry on their conversation in a very interesting way in a broadcast studio. This paper will primarily cover textual analysis, context analysis, and make a clear comparison from other genres of discourse to highlight its characteristics.展开更多

In the first stage when the through experiments in two 30th floor of the northwest tower and the 38th floor of the southeast tower were finished, the traffic flows on the roads surrounding the building were investigated, and 27 setups of accelerations were measured at the roadside, on the pile cap and on the 9th floor. In the second stage when the whole steel structure was completed, l 5 setups of accelerations were measured at the roadside, on the pile cap and on the 37th and the 48th floors. The accelerations of the building under different traffic flows, in different positions are analyzed in both time domain and frequency domain. The damping ratios are estimated by the upgraded half-power bandwidth method.展开更多

The CCTV (China Central Television) tower headquarters is the case for study because the shape of this building is non-stellar, ...This paper deals with the computer modeling of structures starting from a point cloud. The CCTV (China Central Television) tower headquarters is the case for study because the shape of this building is non-stellar, concave and multi-connected. It is composed of sowns and chains. The sown is the representation of a horizontal plane formed by dense points. The chain is a planar path modeled by rare points. The CCTV structure is defined only by the three orthogonal Cartesian coordinates of the points. The proposed computer modeling uses a sequence of procedures and the desired outputted 3D model is consistent. The first procedure is devoted to attributing points to their voxel and to estimating three values needed afterwards. The second procedure is devoted to analyzing clusters vertically and horizontally, to preliminarily distinguishing chains from sowns and to generating relational matching. The third procedure is devoted to building closed paths between all chains and all their projections on sowns. The fourth procedure is devoted to connecting points with triangles. The fifth procedure, still being implemented, is devoted to interpolating triangles with triangular splines. The results show it is possible to achieve the 3D model using the above mentioned procedures. These procedures are written, implemented and tested and they form a library of people's own software. The code is written using Matlab. It is not possible to obtain the required 3D model if the procedures are applied in the wrong order or one step is skipped. To conclude, it is possible to obtain the computer model of the CCTV using the provided sequence of procedures.展开更多

The current television model is undergoing a deep-rooted change, and its future depends, to a large extent, on its presence in cyberspace. For the purposes of this study, we selected the internet homepages of the 12 regional radio-television stations which together make up the Spanish Federation of Regional Radio and Television Organizations (FORTA).
