This technique is a combi-nation of the usage o...In this letter, a new method is proposed for unsupervised classification of terrain types and man-made objects using POLarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (POLSAR) data. This technique is a combi-nation of the usage of polarimetric information of SAR images and the unsupervised classification method based on fuzzy set theory. Image quantization and image enhancement are used to preprocess the POLSAR data. Then the polarimetric information and Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm are used to classify the preprocessed images. The advantages of this algorithm are the automated classification, its high classifica-tion accuracy, fast convergence and high stability. The effectiveness of this algorithm is demonstrated by ex-periments using SIR-C/X-SAR (Spaceborne Imaging Radar-C/X-band Synthetic Aperture Radar) data.展开更多

A new fragile watermark for image was proposed, which can be used in image verification applications. The paper first described the above two techniques, some of which will be used in the method. Then it described the embedding and authentication process and also analyzed the method to show how it can survive some attacks. The experimental results show that the proposed method doesn’t need the watermark or original image on authentication side. Two conceits (concetti) are ...This study aims to visualize Giorgio Vasari's statement in discussing Jacopo Tintoretto's Female Concert of 1576-86, now at the Gemaldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden (see Figure 1). Two conceits (concetti) are considered in analyzing Tintoretto's female imagery: (1) a fanciful invention of musica extravaganza; and (2) a Venetian allegory of bellezza. The first part of the essay discusses the provenance of the painting and the second part presents an iconographical interpretation of the imagery. This essay also focuses on the iconography of the painting based on viewing the subject and does not postulate on its iconography based on disappeared paintings or on a speculative decorative cycle on the theme of Hercules. Relying on well-documented research on music in Venice, on Mannerist practices, and on art theories during Tintoretto's life, some intriguing observations are made about the painting.展开更多

Applying the theory of adaptation, Feminism, and Performance Studies, this paper explores the adaptation, inter-textuality, and gender in the three films The Tempest (2010) directed by Julie Taymor, Prospero's Boo...Applying the theory of adaptation, Feminism, and Performance Studies, this paper explores the adaptation, inter-textuality, and gender in the three films The Tempest (2010) directed by Julie Taymor, Prospero's Books (1991) directed by Peter Greenaway, and Shakespeare in Love (1998) directed by John Madden, referenced to Gnomeo and Juliet (2011), a cartoon animation. Both films of The Tempest show visual spectacle and technology images by CGI (Computer-Generated Cinematic Graphic Image) effect. The author argues the power struggle between Caliban and Prospero played by actress Helen Mirren, changes from post-colonial discourse in the male domain, to be more about the intellect contest between man and woman, and Taymor's adaptation is more focused on maternity than actor John Gielgud's on politics. Inter-textuality exists in Shakespeare in Love and Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and Twelfth Night. Unlike the tragedy in the films, Gnomeo and Juliet ends happily as we can expect from most musicals and fairy tales. The inter-textuality of literature and art, dramatic plays, historical events, and biographical sketches are delicately intertwined. Media represent Shakespeare applied by Jean Baudrillard's "simulacra" and Richard Schechner's "simulation" to present the liminal threshold between reality, role-playing, and theatricality. Because after all, the fundamental purpose of teaching Chinese painting is to train a large number of innovative awareness and skills of professionals in order to promote the prosperity and development of Chinese painting. So, therefore, to reform the teaching of Chinese painting not only should be synchronized with the innovation of Chinese painting, Chinese painting should be involved in the development and reform of a series of important topics discussed making forward-looking thinking. Starting from the basic characteristics of painting, we are to explore ways to image modeling and imagery observation method according to melting into the hold of the art teaching among Chinese oaintin~ is one of a fundamental issue.展开更多
