The separation of halogens and recovery of heavy metals from secondary copper smelting(SCS)dust using a sulfating roasting−water leaching process were investigated.The thermodynamic analysis results confirm the feasibility of the phase transformation to metal sulfates and to gaseous HF and HCl.Under the sulfating roasting conditions of the roasting temperature of 250℃ and the sulfuric acid excess coefficient of 1.8,over 74 wt.%of F and 98 wt.%of Cl were volatilized into flue gas.Approximately 98.6 wt.%of Zn and 96.5 wt.%of Cu in the roasting product were dissolved into the leaching solution after the water leaching process,while the leaching efficiencies of Pb and Sn were only 0.12%and 0.22%,respectively.The mechanism studies indicate the pivotal effect of roasting temperature on the sulphation reactions from various metal species to metal sulfates and the salting out reactions from various metal halides to gaseous hydrogen halides. 展开更多

This paper is aimed to present a clean,inexpensive and sustainable method to synthesize high purity lithium sulfide(Li_(2)S)powder through hydrogen reduction of lithium sulfate(Li_(2)SO_(4)).A three-step reduction process has been successfully developed to synthesize well-crystallized and single-phase Li_(2)S powder by investigating the melting,sintering and reduction behavior of the mixtures of Li_(2)SO_(4)-Li_(2)S.High purity alumina was found to be the most suitable crucible material for producing high purity Li_(2)S,because it was not attacked by the Li_(2)SO_(4)-Li_(2)S melt during heating,as compared with other materials,such as carbon,mullite,quartz,boron nitride and stainless steel.The use of synthesized LizS resulted in higher purity and substantially higher room temperature ionic conductivity(2.77 mS·cm^(-1))for the argyrodite sulfide electrolyte Li_(6)PS_(5)Cl than commercial Li_(2)S(1.12 mS·cm^(-1)).This novel method offers a great opportunity to produce battery grade Li_(2)S for sulfide solid electrolyte applications. 展开更多

A novel compound(H_(2)L)SCN(5⁃methyl⁃3⁃phenyl⁃2H⁃pyrazol⁃1⁃ium thiocyanate)has been obtained by the reaction of thiosemicarbazide with benzoylacetone in ethanol.Two zinccomplexes[Zn(HL)_(2)(NCS)(CH_(3)COO)](1)and[Zn_(2)(L)_(2)(HL)_(2)(NCS)_(2)]_(2)·2CH_(3)OH(2)have been synthesized by the coordination reactions of Zn(OAc)_(2)·2H_(2)O or ZnCl_(2)with(H_(2)L)SCN under reflux conditions.Elemental analyses and single⁃crystal X⁃ray diffraction have con⁃firmed the structures of the synthesized compounds.The(H_(2)L)SCN ligand and complex 1 pertain to the triclinic sys⁃tem with space group P1,while complex 2 belongs to the monoclinic system with space group P2_(1)/n.Additionally,the antibacterial activities of the compounds were evaluated in vitro using the agar diffusion method against the bac⁃terial strains(Candida albicans,Staphylococcus aureus,and Escherichia coli).The results showed that the ligand exhibited relatively good antibacterial activities against the bacteria,and the complexes possessed stronger antibac⁃terial activities against the same bacteria than the free ligand.CCDC:2190252,(H2L)SCN;2190253,1;2190256,2. 展开更多

The lime-depressed pyrite from Cu differential flotation tailings with acid mine drainage(AMD)as a natural activator was recovered.The effect of AMD on lime-depressed pyrite flotation was investigated by a series of laboratory flotation tests and surface analytical techniques.Flotation test results indicated that AMD could effectively activate the pyrite flotation with a sodium butyl xanthate(SBX)collector,and a high-quality sulfur concentrate was obtained.Pulp ion concentration analysis results indicated that AMD facilitated desorption of Ca^(2+)and adsorption of Cu^(2+)on the depressed-pyrite surface.Adsorption measurements and contact angle analysis results confirmed that adding AMD improved the adsorption amount of SBX collector on the pyrite surface and increased the contact angle by 31°.Results of Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis indicated that AMD treatment promoted the formation of hydrophobic species(S^(0) hydrophobic entity and copper sulfides)and the removal of hydrophilic calcium and iron species on the pyrite surface,which reinforced the adsorption of collector.The findings of the present research provide important theoretical basis and technical support for a cleaner production of copper sulfide ores. 展开更多

End-functionalization of polydiene rubbers can not only improve its compatibility with inorganic fillers,but also enhance the overall mechanical properties.Nevertheless,for traditional neodymium(Nd)diene polymerization systems,it is highly challenging to achieve such end-functionalizations,because most of polydienyl chains are capped withη3-allyl-Nd moiety during the end of polymerization,which shows very poor reactivity with nucleophile compounds.We launched a new diene polymerization strategy calling coordinative chain transfer polymerization(CCTP)[1].In such a system,all the polydienyl chains are capped withη1-allyl-Al moieties,which reveal greater reactivity with cyclic esters and epoxide compounds,providing an effective manner to prepare polydiene-polyester amphiphilic block copolymers.Inspired by such findings,we now show herein how such types of chain-ends react with isot-hiocyanate to demonstrate an efficient in-situ manner to access end-functionalized polydienes by using CCTP. 展开更多

The flotabilities of chalcopyrite and galena with sodium humate(HA) and ammonium persulfate(APS) as the depressant were studied by flotation test, adsorption measurement and infrared spectroscopic analysis. Single mineral flotation test shows that the slurry oxidation environment and the proper oxidation of galena surface are prerequisites for the depression of galena by sodium humate. The closed-circuit flotation test of copper/lead bulk concentrate shows that the grade and recovery of Cu reach 30.47% and 89.16% respectively and those of Pb reach 2.06% and1.58% respectively in copper concentrate, and the grade and recovery of Pb reach 50.34% and 98.42% and those of Cu reach 1.45% and 10.84% respectively in lead concentrate with HA and APS. The selective depression effect of HA and APS is more obvious than that of potassium dichromate. The results of FTIR analysis and adsorption measurements indicate that the adsorption of sodium humate on the fresh surface of galena is negligible, while after oxidation, sodium humate can be chemically adsorbed on the surface of galena. According to the theory of solubility product, the sodium humate can display the oxidation product PbSO_4, after then, adsorb on the surface of lead chemically to produce inhibitory effect. Thus, it can be seen that the combination of HA and APS is an efficient non-toxic reagent to achieve cleaning separation copper/lead bulk concentrate by flotation. Magnesium sulfate was proposed to be leaching agent to deal with the ion-adsorption type rare earths ore to reduce or even eliminate ammonia?nitrogen emissions. The effects of temperature, particle size and stirring speed on rare earth leaching process and the leaching behaviors of the single rare earth element were investigated in order to reveal the rare earth leaching characteristics. Besides, the comparison of leaching effects between magnesium sulfate and ammonium sulfate was also studied. The results showed that the rare earth leaching process could be well described with inner diffusion control model and the apparent activation energy was 9.48 kJ/mol. The leaching behaviors of the single rare earth element were brought into correspondence with rare earths. Moreover, when the concentration of leaching agent was 0.20 mol/L, the rare earth leaching efficiency could all reach above 95% and the leaching efficiency of aluminum impurities could be restrained by 10% using magnesium sulfate compared with ammonium sulfate. 展开更多

The leaching kinetics of copper from low-grade copper ore was investigated in ammonia-ammonium sulfate solution with sodium persulfate. The effect parameters of stirring speed, temperature, particle size, concentrations of ammonia, ammonium sulfate and sodium persulfate were determined. The results show that the leaching rate is nearly independent of agitation above 300 r/min and increases with the increase of temperature, concentrations of ammonia, ammonium sulfate and sodium persulfate. The EDS analysis and phase quantitative analysis of the residues indicate that bornite can be dissolved by persulfate oxidization. The leaching kinetics with activation energy of 22.91 kJ/mol was analyzed by using a new shrinking core model (SCM) in which both the interfacial transfer and diffusion across the product layer affect the leaching rate. A semi-empirical rate equation was obtained to describe the leaching process and the empirical reaction orders with respect to the concentrations of ammonia, ammonium sulfate and sodium persulfate are 0.5, 1.2 and 0.5, respectively. 展开更多

First, Al and Fe were extracted from fly ash by NH4HSO4 roasting and deionized water leaching. Then, the Al and Fe in the leached liquid were precipitated by adding NH4HCO3 solution. After the mixed precipitations of Al(OH)3 and Fe(OH)3 were leached by NaOH solution, the NaAl(OH)4 solution was decomposed by carbonation. Finally, the pure Al(OH)3 was calcined to α-Al2O3. The optimal conditions of the whole technology were determined by experiments. The quality ofa-Al2O3 product is up to the technical indicator of YS/T 274-1998 standard. 展开更多

Cu, As, Sb and Bi in copper electrolyte could be efficiently removed by reducing with SO2 followed by evaporative crystallization. As2O3 and CuSO4·5H2O were obtained after crystallized product was treated by dissolution, oxidation, neutralization, sedimentation, filtration and evaporative crystallization. The removal rates of Cu, As, Sb and Bi are 87.1%, 83.9%, 21.0% and 84.7%, respectively, when As (Ⅴ) in copper electrolyte is fully reduced to As (Ⅲ) by SO2, and the H2SO4 in concentrated copper electrolyte is 645 g/L. The removal rate of As is 92.81% when 65 g crystallized product is dissolved in 200 mL water at 30 ℃. The CuSO4·5H2O content is 98.8% when the filtrate is purified under the conditions that n(Fe):n(As) is 1.2, the dosage of H2O2 is 19 times the stoichiometric needed, temperature is 45 ℃, time is 40 min, pH is 3.7, and then is evaporation crystallized. 展开更多

The damage processes of ordinary concrete and high strength concrete, attacked by solutions of 2. 5%, 5. 0% and 10% Na2SO4(mass fraction)are studied. And the effects of flexural loads with stress ratios of 25% and 50% of the initial flexural strength on the damage process of concrete are also investigated. The results show that the damage process of concrete attacked by sulfate salt exhibits an initial damaged stage, a performance improving stage and a performance worsening stage. When the concentration of Na2SO4 in a solution increases from 2. 5% to 5.0%, the service time of the concrete decreases approximately 25%. Furthermore, it decreases to even 40% with an increase in a Na2SO4 concentration up to 10%. And the flexural load accelerates the deterioration rate of the concrete in the latter period. The stress ratio increases from 0 to 25%, the failure time of the concrete decreases 15% ; and the failure time decreases between 25% and 35% when the stress ratio increases from 25% to 50%. In addition, sulfate corrosion products of concrete are studied by SEM (scanning electron microscopy), EDS (energy disperse spectroscopy) and XRD(X-ray diffraction). 展开更多

Cyanide-free silver electroplating was conducted in thiosulfate baths containing AgNO3 and AgBr major salts, respectively. The effects of major salt content and current density on surface quality, deposition rate and microhardness of Ag coatings were investigated. The optimized electroplating parameters were established. The adhesion strength of Ag coating on Cu substrate was evaluated and the grain size of Ag coating was measured under optimized electroplating parameters. The optimized AgNO3 content is 40 g/L with current density of 0.25 A/dm2. The deposited bright, smooth, and well adhered Ag coating had nanocrystalline grains with mean size of 35 nm. The optimized AgBr content was 30 g/L with current density of 0.20 A/dm2. The resultant Ag coating had nanocrystalline grains with mean size of 55 nm. Compared with the bath containing AgBr main salt, the bath containing AgNO3 main salt had a wider current density range, and corresponding Ag coating had a higher microhardness and a smaller grain size. 展开更多

A modified shrinking unreacted-core model,based on thermogravimetric analysis,was developed to investigate CaSO4 decomposition in oxy-fuel combustion,especially under isothermal condition which is difficult to achieve in actual experiments due to high-temperature corrosion.A method was proposed to calculate the reaction rate constant for CaSO4 decomposition.Meanwhile,the diffusion of SO2 and O2,and the sintering of CaO were fully considered during the development of model.The results indicate that the model can precisely predict the decomposition of CaSO4 under high SO2 concentration(1100×10-6).Concentrations of SO2 and O2 on the unreacted-core surface were found to increase first and then decrease with increasing temperature,and the average specific surface area and porosity of each CaO sintering layer decreased with increasing time.The increase of SO2 and/or O2 concentration inhibited CaSO4 decomposition.Moreover,the kinetics of CaSO4 decomposition had obvious dependence on temperature and the decomposition rate can be dramatically accelerated with increasing temperature. 展开更多

Arsenopyrite was artificially added into the thiosulfate leaching solution to clarify the role of arsenopyrite on the thiosulfate leaching of gold.The effect of arsenopyrite on the thiosulfate leaching of gold was studied by the thermodynamic calculation,mineral dissolution test,leaching test and XPS analysis.The results show that the thiosulfate consumption slightly increases with increasing the concentration of arsenopyrite,but the gold dissolution is obviously hindered.This may mainly attribute to the catalytic effect of arsenopyrite on the thiosulfate decomposition and the formation of passivation layer on the gold foil surface.The passivation layer likely consists of Cu2S or Cu(S2O3)35-,element S,FeOOH and iron arsenate,which is deduced from the XPS analysis.However,the negative effect of arsenopyrite can be eliminated by adding additives.It is found that both additives of sodium carboxymethyl(CMC) and sodium phosphate(SHPP) can not only decrease the thiosulfate consumption but also improve the gold dissolution. 展开更多

Magnetic Cu^0/Fe3O4 submicron composites were prepared using a hydrothermal method and used as heterogeneous catalysts for the activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS) and the degradation of organic pollutants.The as-prepared magnetic Cu^0/Fe3O4 submicron composites were composed of Cu^0 and Fe3O4 crystals and had an average size of approximately 220 nm.The Cu^0/Fe3O4 composites could efficiently catalyze the activation of PMS to generate singlet oxygen,and thus induced the rapid degradation of rhodamine B,methylene blue,orange Ⅱ,phenol and 4-chlorophenol.The use of0.1 g/L of the Cu^0/Fe3O4 composites induced the complete removal of rhodamine B(20 μmol/L) in15 min,methylene blue(20 μmol/L) in 5 min,orange Ⅱ(20 μmol/L) in 10 min,phenol(0.1mmol/L) in 30 min and 4-chlorophenol(0.1 mmol/L) in 15 min with an initial pH value of 7.0 and a PMS concentration of 0.5 mmol/L.The total organic carbon(TOC) removal higher than 85%for all of these five pollutants was obtained in 30 min when the PMS concentration was 2.5 mmol/L.The rate of degradation was considerably higher than that obtained with Cu^0 or Fe3O4 particles alone.The enhanced catalytic activity of the Cu^0/Fe3O4 composites in the activation of PMS was attributed to the synergistic effect of the Cu^0 and Fe3O4 crystals in the composites.Singlet oxygen was identified as the primary reactive oxygen species responsible for pollutant degradation by electron spin resonance and radical quenching experiments.A possible mechanism for the activation of PMS by Cu^0/Fe3O4 composites is proposed as electron transfer from the organic pollutants to PMS induces the activation of PMS to generate ^1O2,which induces the degradation of the organic pollutants.As a magnetic catalyst,the Cu^0/Fe3O4 composites were easily recovered by magnetic separation,and exhibited excellent stability over five successive degradation cycles.The present study provides a facile and green heterogeneous catalysis method for the oxidative removal of organic pollutants. 展开更多

A novel and facile wet-chemical method for synthesis of silver microwires was developed.The well-defined particles were prepared by adding an iron(Ⅱ) sulfate heptahydrate solution into a silver nitrate solution containing citric acid drop by drop at 50 °C.The resulting products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.It was found that the particles consisted of numerous silver microwires.The reaction temperature greatly affected the morphologies of the as-prepared particles.Both of the mean length and width of the silver microwires increased with the decrease of the concentration of silver nitrate.And the lower concentration was unfavorable for the formation of more silver microwires.Similar findings were also observed when the concentration of iron(Ⅱ) sulfate was decreased.The amount of citric acid also greatly affected the shape of the as-prepared particles.It was concluded that citric acid was the key role in the formation of silver microwires via the Oswald ripening mechanism. 展开更多
