This hierarchical model summarizes the action contents with different spatio-t...To improve the recognition performance of video human actions,an approach that models the video actions in a hierarchical way is proposed. This hierarchical model summarizes the action contents with different spatio-temporal domains according to the properties of human body movement.First,the temporal gradient combined with the constraint of coherent motion pattern is utilized to extract stable and dense motion features that are viewed as point features,then the mean-shift clustering algorithm with the adaptive scale kernel is used to label these features.After pooling the features with the same label to generate part-based representation,the visual word responses within one large scale volume are collected as video object representation.On the benchmark KTH(Kungliga Tekniska H?gskolan)and UCF (University of Central Florida)-sports action datasets,the experimental results show that the proposed method enhances the representative and discriminative power of action features, and improves recognition rates.Compared with other related literature,the proposed method obtains superior performance.展开更多

The combination method of local orientation estimation...In order to effectively improve the quality of recovered images, a single frame super-resolution reconstruction method based on sparse representation is proposed. The combination method of local orientation estimation-based image patch clustering and principal component analysis is used to obtain a series of geometric dictionaries of different orientations in the dictionary learning process. Subsequently, the dictionary of the nearest orientation is adaptively assigned to each of the input patches that need to be represented in the sparse coding process. Moreover, the consistency of gradients is further incorporated into the basic framework to make more substantial progress in preserving more fine edges and producing sharper results. Two groups of experiments on different types of natural images indicate that the proposed method outperforms some state-of- the-art counterparts in terms of both numerical indicators and visual quality.展开更多
AIM:To investigate the efficacy of cap-fitted colonoscopy(CFC) with regard to cecal intubation time.METHODS:Two hundred and ninety-five patients undergoing screening colonoscopy at Gospel Hospital,Kosin University Col...AIM:To investigate the efficacy of cap-fitted colonoscopy(CFC) with regard to cecal intubation time.METHODS:Two hundred and ninety-five patients undergoing screening colonoscopy at Gospel Hospital,Kosin University College of Medicine were enrolled in this randomized controlled trial between January and December 2010.Colonoscopies were conducted by a single endoscopist.Patient characteristics including age,sex,body mass index,history of abdominal surgery,quality of preparation,and the presence of diverticulosis were recorded.RESULTS:One hundred and fifty patients were allocated into a CFC group and 145 into a non-CFC(NCF) group.Cecal intubations were achieved in all patients.Cecal intubation time in the CFC group was significantly shorter than in the NCF group for specific conditions:age ≥ 60 years,prior abdominal surgery,and poor bowel preparation.The number of detected adenomas was higher in the CFC group than in the NCF group(P = 0.040).CONCLUSION:CFC facilitated shortening of the cecal intubation time in difficult cases,and was more sensitive for detecting adenomas than was NCF.展开更多

PBS performance is usually measured by spectrophotometer after coating and cementing, but the measured result cannot represent the actual performance in practice because people usually change the incident angle in one plane (horizontal plane) and do not consider the other plane (vertical plane). Geometrical polarization rotation occurring at reduced F-number influences the measuring precision of s-polarization transmittance (Ts) and p-polarization reflectance (Rp). A more accurate and practical way to measure the performance of broadband, wide-angle PBS is presented in this paper.展开更多
