The lack of emotional relations is not replaced by the "savant" characteristics (see Asperger syndrome) but by their immersing into stereotypic instincts. In other words, they compensate their divergent intrinsic emotions with imitated convergences (eg., the monotonous "convergence obsessed" logic of hammering, wringing hands etc.) Today's science cannot declare this to be convergent, especially for the fact that psychotic autist patients prove to be weak at convergence, but the male/female proportion reflects on notable facts (with Kanner syndrome it is 3:1 or 4:1, while Rett syndrome only affects females). Can we declare Kanner and Rett syndromes to be basically female brain disorders? Asperger-autism has been scientifically considered as a type of "male-brain disorder" since 199l (Baron-Cohen theory). The proportion of male-female is approximately 6:1 with this disease. The author would like to demonstrate a very special case, the Asperger-autism as a "cognitive autism." It is common to address autistic disorder as "pervasive" or "comprehensive" ontogenetic disorders because they affect all areas of adolescent psychological development negatively. But as the expression itself suggests, we are not aware of the specific disorders directly. As it will turn out we cannot deal with autism as on complex disorder, we should rather use the term in plural, i.e., autisms and autistic disorders. 展开更多

The number of people playing Massive Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) is growing steadily, yet there are limited studies on the social impact that this online activity has. This research, using both quantitative and qualitative data, focused on whether users of the most popular MMOG, World of Warcraft (WOW), exhibited behaviors of social capital in their online gaming activity and whether there was any correlation to offiine social capital. The findings indicated that cooperation provided the best indicator to make a correlation about a gamer's offiine social capital behaviors. One conclusion, stemming from this is that, in virtual worlds, the added social capital can lead to cronyism and help those in power maintain the status quo. 展开更多

To recognize means therefore to make a decision, maybe one of the most important decisions, so that a philosophical reflection on intersubjectivity cannot be separated from a reflection on the social and political nature of decision. This leads, to how a simple theory of decision is to be found even in a deeply intersubjective context like the one of role and tabletop games. Aim of this research is to reflect on the role of unexpectedness and unexpected--and thus free---decisions in fields like those described by recognitions, States, and games, bringing into dialogue some thoughts of Hegel, Schelling, and C. The Russian theatre has not been neglected in the studies on theatre history, literary criticism and dramatic arts. The paper attempts to have a look at the 1787 Drama Dictionary, the first theatre reference book published in the country (with a very long Russian title containing 35 words) as a cultural product of the Enlightenment Age produced by its representative. In the introduction to the dictionary the compiler says that the publication would help young people develop a taste for refined entertainment and reject violent leisure activities of the past, enjoy theatre and learn life moral lessons from it. He considers theatre as a powerful means of changing Russian society as has been demanded by the Enlightenment Age. The structural and sociocultural analyses of 1787 Drama Dictionary materials give us an insight into some ways of westernising Russian society through theatre and how this westernisation was reflected in the theatre terminology of the time. I have argued that Russian-European Relationships resulting in the westernisation of Russian theatre theory and practices went hand in hand with the Russian translation-adaptation of Western plays and adaptation of some Western cultural patterns of social thinking and behaviour without rejecting completely the national identity in newly-born Russian dramatic literature. 展开更多

Beyond all of these, the theatre could also serve as an agent of civilization, community mobilisation, and youth development and emancipation. This paper discusses how the potentials of the youth in a country such as Nigeria, could be harnessed and deployed for the purposes of national orientation, development, and integration, using culture, drama, and theatre as the defining tools for this evolvement. 展开更多

Contrary to the prevailing belief, Wittgenstein's legacies are found to have contributed considerably to the philosophical underpinnings for modern Al theory and research. In a thorough scrutiny of the issue, the author extensively examines major philosophical insights engendered by the nexus of interests in the burgeoning AI enterprise, and makes predictions on how close we could ever get to creating human intelligence and its profound practical implications for human existence. In this process, narration in drama has undergone a series of transformations in terms of significance, appeal and functionality. It has turned, from a suppressed intrusion into dramatic verisimilitude, to a subordinate attendant on plays of reason and passion and then to an epic element in a modernistic turn, and has contemporarily come onto central stage and assumed a particular theatricality of its own. Such an evolving framework corresponds to philosophical and aesthetical developments over time and integrates into an ever-renewing semiotics of drama. Recent developments in Narratology of the theatre provide an inspiring context for understanding this evolution, as they shed light on the generic nature, communi- cational facets and discursive power of dramatic narratives. 展开更多
