[Method] Genetic diversity of 10 aromatic rice and 45 non-aromatic rice were analyzed by 64 SSR primers covered on 12 rice chromosomes. [ Result] Per locus 5.44 and 7.98 alleles in average were detected, ranging from 2 to 12 and from 2 to 17 in aromatic and non-aromatic rice, respectively. Average genetic multiplicity index(Hs) was 0.46 and 0.67 respectively. The average polymorphism information content (PIC) was 0.43 and 0.58 in aromatic and non-aromatic rice respectively. [ Conclusion] The results indicated that genetic diversity was higher in non-aromatic rice than in aromatic rice.展开更多

The results showed that, with the addition of 1% Sn and the Ca content of 0.2%?0.5%, the microstructure of the as-extruded Mg?Sn?Ca alloys became homogenous, which led to increased mechanical properties and improved corrosion resistance. Further increase of Ca content up to 1.5% improved the strength, but deteriorated the ductility and corrosion resistance. For the alloy containing 0.5% Ca, when the Sn content increased from 1% to 3%, the ultimate tensile strength increased with a decreased corrosion resistance, and the lowest yield strength and ductility appeared with the Sn content of 2%. These behaviors were determined by Sn/Ca mass ratio. The analyses showed that as-extruded Mg?1Sn?0.5Ca alloy was promising as a biodegradable orthopedic implant.展开更多

METHODS A model of liver with metastasis of hu- man colonic cancer (HCC) cells in nude mice was used to observe the effect in prevention of metastasis of HCC cells inoculated via spleen applied with early postoper- ative intraperitoneal (IP) chemotherapy using large dose of 5-FU. RESULTS The incidence of metastasis to liver was decreased by 40%,the mean number of metastatic liv- er nodules in each animal was reduced by 50.89% and the mean survival times of each animal was prolonged by 48.21% by using 5-FU 40 mg/NS 40 ml/kg IP for two consecutive days as compared with the controls. CONCLUSIONS IP is a new and more effective re- gional adjuvant chemotheraputic approach in the pre- vention of liver metastasis HCC cells after radical surgery of large bowel cancer.展开更多

[Result] The 11 kinds of broom sorghum were different in morphological characteristics with large amplitude of plant height; zygl-1, zygl-6, zygl-8 and zygl-9 were appropriate for fixed broom type; zygl-9 had the highest integrated production. [Condusion] The study laid the foundation for further exploring breeding, cultivation and promotion of broom sorghum.展开更多

It follows that the AAO in the Western Hemisphere (AAOWH) is positively correlated with the ATHN, at 0.36 during the period of 1871-1998 and 0.42 during the period of 1949-98. After removing the linear regressions on the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) in all time series, the above correlation coefficients are 0.25 and 0.30, respectively. The underlying mechanisms are studied through analyses of the atmospheric general circulation variability associated with the AAOWH. It turns out that the positive (negative) phase of JJASO AAOWH corresponds with several factors: decreased (increased) vertical zonal wind shear magnitude, low-level anomalous convergence (divergence), high-level anomalous divergence (convergence), and warmed (cooled) sea surface temperature in the tropical Atlantic. Therefore, the positive (negative) phase of JJASO AAOWH is favorable (unfavorable) to the tropical hurricane genesis.展开更多

METHODS: Data about patients with gastric and colorectal cancer treated in our center during the past 10 years were collected and divided into two parts. Part 1 consisted of the data collected from 516 consecutive complicated cases discussed at MDT meetings in Peking University School of Oncology (PKUSO) from December 2005 to July 2009. Part 2 consisted of the data collected from 263 consecutive cases of resect-able locally advanced rectal cancer from January 2001 to January 2005. These 263 patients were divided into neoadjuvant therapy (NT) group and control group. Patients in NT group received MDT treatment, namely neoadjuvant therapy + surgery + postoperative adjuvant therapy. Patients in control group underwent direct surgery + postoperative adjuvant therapy. The outcomes in two groups were compared. RESULTS: The treatment strategy was altered after discussed at MDT meeting in 76.81% of gastric cancer patients and in 58.33% of colorectal cancer patients before operation. The sphincter-preservation and local control of tumor were better in NT group than in control group. The 5-year overall survival rate was also higher in NT group than in control group (77.23% vs 69.75%, P = 0.049). CONCLUSION: MDT treatment modality can significantly improve the outcomes of patients with gastrointestinal malignancy in China.展开更多

Traditional attempts of floristic studies typically focus on the analyses of taxonomic composition, often ignoring the rich context that evolutionary history can provide. In 2014, Swenson and Umafia introduced the term 'phylofloristics' to define a phylogenetically enabled analysis of the species composition of regional floras. Integrating phylogenetic information into tradi- tional floristic analysis can provide a promising way to explore the ecological, biogeographic, and evolutionary processes that drive plant assemblies at multiple spatial scales. In this review, we sum- marize the current progress on the phylogenetic structure, spatial phylogenetic pattern, origin and diversification, phylogenetic regionalization of fioristic assemblages, and application of phylogenetic information in biodiversity conservation. These summaries highlight the importance of incorporating phylogenetic information to improve our understanding of floristic assembly from an evolutionary perspective. The review ends with a brief outlook on future challenges for phylofloristic studies, including generating a highly resolved species-level phylogenetic tree, compiling detailed and refined information regarding the geographic distribution of all plant life, extracting trait information from publications and herbarium specimens, and developing technological and methodological approaches for big data analysis.展开更多
