A split-litter design was introduced to remove confusing factors such as maternal disturbance. Pups of the non-tactile stimulation (NTS) group did not receive any handling. Pups subjected to the TS treatment were handled and marked for approximately 30 s daily from postnatal days (PND) 2 - 9 or from PND 10 - 17. Pups subjected to the MS treatment were handled and marked in the same way as the TS pups and then individually placed in a cup with familiar nest bedding for 1 h daily. At the age of 3 months, female rats with different neonatal experiences were employed in the light/dark box test and the one-trial passive avoidance response. Both PND 2 - 9 TS and PND 10 - 17 TS groups exhibited more time spent in the illuminated chamber of the light/dark box, and longer step-through latencies in the passive avoidance response when compared to the NTS group, indicating that early life TS treatment reduced novelty-induced anxious emotion and facilitated the retention of emotional memory in adult female rats. No significant effects were found on any behavioral measures between the MS groups and the TS groups, suggesting that neonatal short-time MS treatment was not intensive enough to alter the emotional behaviors, at least in female rats. Infantile age was not an effective factor for these measures. This result supports the hypothesis that neonatal tactile stimulation and maternal separation lead to different effects on the neural development of postnatal pups.展开更多

Emotional two-character Chinese words are used as experimental materials. Positive words versus neutral words and negative words versus neutral words are classified, respectively, using the induced EEG signals. The method of temporally regularized common spatial patterns (TRCSP) is chosen to extract features from the EEG trials, and then single-trial EEG classification is achieved by linear discriminant analysis. Classification accuracies are between 55% and 65%. The statistical significance of the classification accuracies is confirmed by permutation tests, which shows the successful identification of emotional words and neutral ones, and also the ability to identify emotional words. In addition, 10 out of 15 subjects obtain significant classification accuracy for negative words versus neutral words while only 4 are significant for positive words versus neutral words, which demonstrate that negative emotions are more easily identified.展开更多

The primary goal was to investigate the feasibility of implementing a 12-week structured program of physical activity(PA) incorporating cognitive, social, and emotional elements in preschool. Additionally, this study, using a within-subject design, examined the acute effects of a PA session on classroom engagement and changes on perceived competence and peer acceptance from the first to the last week of the program. Methods: Twenty-seven preschoolers(mean age = 4.2 years) completed the Pictorial Scale of Perceived Competence and Social Acceptance for Young Children before and after a twice-weekly PA program. Unobtrusive classroom observations were conducted for verbal, social, and affective engagement during the first and last week of the program, both following a structured PA session(experimental day) and on a day without PA(control day). Treatment fidelity was monitored to ensure that the intervention was delivered as designed. Results: The children exhibited longer periods of verbal and social engagement during classroom periods that followed PA sessions than on non-PA days. Children also expressed more positive affect following PA sessions during the last week of the PA program. Despite high baseline scores, perceptions of general competence increased meaningfully(η2= 0.15, p = 0.05), driven by increase in perceptions of cognitive competence(η2= 0.15,p = 0.06).Conclusion: This study demonstrates the feasibility of providing structured PA program to preschoolers. Moreover, these initial findings suggest that purposely designed, structured PA may help advance the social–emotional engagement and perceived competence of preschool children.展开更多

The problem presents a complex area for exploration, since it encompasses face acquisition, facial feature tracking, facial ex- pression classification. Facial feature tracking is of the most interest. Active Appearance Model (AAM) enables accurate tracking of facial features in real-time, but lacks occlusions and self-occlusions. In this paper we propose a solution to improve the accuracy of fitting technique. The idea is to include occluded images into AAM training data. We demonstrate the results by running ex- periments using gradient descent algorithm for fitting the AAM. Our experiments show that using fitting algorithm with occluded training data improves the fitting quality of the algorithm.展开更多

In finite state machine model of emotion, the emotional space included the basic emotional space and the multiple emotional spaces. The emotion-switching diagram was defined and transition fimction was developed using Markov chain and linear interpolation algorithm. The simulation model was built using Stateflow toolbox and Simulink toolbox based on the Matlab platform. And the model included three subsystems: the input one, the emotion one and the behavior one. In the emotional subsystem, the responses of different personalities to the external stimuli were described by defining personal space. This model takes states from an emotional space and updates its state depending on its current state and a state of its input (also a state-emotion). The simulation model realizes the process of switching the emotion from the neutral state to other basic emotions. The simulation result is proved to correspond to emotion-switching law of human beings.展开更多

The probiotics and BIO ENERGIZER solution were applied for disparate treatments. Variations of alkaline phosphatase ac- tivity (APA) and its relationship with the contents of C, N and P in sediments were studied. Results show that APA of sedi- ments increases from 3.096 nmolg-1min-1 to 5.407 nmol g-1min-1 in culture period; the bacteria biomass is not the only factor to determine APA; the contents of total P and total organic carbon have a significant positive correlation with APA, while that of total nitrogen has a negative correlation. In addition, the contents of inorganic P and organic P are not regular with APA. By comparison, TOC shows a more significant coherence with APA, meaning that organic pollution in sediments af- fects APA remarkably.展开更多

文摘Quadratic Discrimination Function (QDF) is commonly used in speech emotion recognition, which proceeds on the premise that the input data is normal distribution. In this paper, we propose a transformation to normalize the emotional features, emotion recognition. Features based on prosody then derivate a Modified QDF (MQDF) to speech and voice quality are extracted and Principal Component Analysis Neural Network (PCANN) is used to reduce dimension of the feature vectors. The results show that voice quality features are effective supplement for recognition, and the method in this paper could improve the recognition ratio effectively.
文摘Facial expression recognition consists of determining what kind of emotional content is presented in a human face. Our experiments show that using fitting algorithm with occluded training data improves the fitting quality of the algorithm.

文摘According to the basic emotional theory, the artificial emotional model based on the finite state machine(FSM) was presented. The simulation result is proved to correspond to emotion-switching law of human beings.

文摘Nine enclosures (5 m x 5 m) were built in a Fenneropenaeus chinensis culture pond of Rushan Gulf in April, 2001. By comparison, TOC shows a more significant coherence with APA, meaning that organic pollution in sediments af- fects APA remarkably.

文摘In this paper,we propose a method for estimating emotion in Wakamono Kotoba that were not registered in the system,by using Wakamono Kotoba example sentences as features. The proposed method applies Earth Mover's Distance(EMD) to vector of words. As a result of the evaluation experiment using 14 440 sentences, higher estimation accuracy is obtained by considering emotional distance between words-an approach that had not been used in the conventional research-than by using only word importance value.
文摘Objectives:This study aimed to determine the relationship between emotional reflexivity and work-life integration through the mechanism of moral courage and enhance our understanding of the importance of these nursing concepts to enable the nurses to develop better coping strategies for work-life integration. Methods:A cross-sectional survey was performed with 249 nurses, including staff nurses,ICU and critical care nurses, operation theatre nurses, pediatric nurses from 17 hospitals.Emotional Reflexivity,work-life integration, and courage were measured using a demographic information questionnaire,Life Project Reflexivity Scale(LPRS),Nurse’s Moral Courage Scale(NMCS),andWork-Life Boundary Enactment(WLBE)scale.A series of multiple regressions analyzed the mediating effect. Results:Emotional Reflexivity was positively correlated with work-life integration(b=0.66,P<0.01).There was a positive correlation between emotional reflexivity and moral courage. But the path did not get the necessary support in the structural equation modeling(SEM)(b=0.13,P=0.40).When controlling for courage(b=0.42,P<0.01),the association was significant between emotional reflexivity and work-life integration with partial mediation. Conclusion:The study reported a positive correlation between reflexivity and work-life integration.Thus,nurses’work-life integration becomes better by reinforcing their emotional reflexivity and moral courage.

文摘With the development of short video industry, video and bullet screen have become important ways to spread public opinions.Public attitudes can be timely obtained through emotional analysis on bullet screen, which can also reduce difficulties in management of online public opinions.A convolutional neural network model based on multi-head attention is proposed to solve the problem of how to effectively model relations among words and identify key words in emotion classification tasks with short text contents and lack of complete context information.Firstly, encode word positions so that order information of input sequences can be used by the model.Secondly, use a multi-head attention mechanism to obtain semantic expressions in different subspaces, effectively capture internal relevance and enhance dependent relationships among words,as well as highlight emotional weights of key emotional words. Then a dilated convolution is used to increase the receptive field and extract more features. On this basis, the above multi-attention mechanism is combined with a convolutional neural network to model and analyze the seven emotional categories of bullet screens.Testing from perspectives of model and dataset, experimental results can validate effectiveness of our approach. Finally, emotions of bullet screens are visualized to provide data supports for hot event controls and other fields.

文摘Recently,as recognizing emotion has been one of the hallmarks of affective computing, more attention has been paid to physiological signals for emotion recognition. This paper presented an approach to emotion recognition using ElectroCardioGraphy(ECG) signals from multiple subjects. To collect reliable affective ECG data,we applied an arousal method by movie clips to make subjects experience specific emotions without external interference.Through precise location of P-QRS-T wave by continuous wavelet transform,an amount of ECG features was extracted sufficiently.Since feature selection is a combination optimization problem,Improved Binary Particle Swarm Optimization(IBPSO) based on neighborhood search was applied to search out effective features to improve classification results of emotion states with the help of fisher or K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN) classifier. In the experiment,it is shown that the approach is successful and the effective features got from ECG signals can express emotion states excellently.
