To study the nonclassical effects of the mesoscopic Josephson junction in the presence of a nonclassical microwave, the mesoscopic Josephson junction and the field were both treated quantum mechanically, and the external field approximation was used. It is shown that if the external field is in the coherent state and the state of the junction is initially prepared in the vacuum state, the state of the junction can evolve into a quantum superposition of two coherent states. The Schrdinger cat states can be produced in a mesoscopic Josephson junction. 展开更多

A284 (2001) 156), we just obtained analytical results of the field dissipative dynamicsof the nonlinear JCM. In the present paper, employing the perturbative expansion of master equation, we obtain thedensity operator of the system (field +atom). The coherence losses of the system and of the atom are investigated whentwo-photon process is involved. We propose an alternative scheme for generation of atomic Schrodinger cat states in an optical cavity. In the scheme the atoms are always populated in the two ground states and the cavity remains in the vacuum state. ... We propose an alternative scheme for generation of atomic Schrodinger cat states in an optical cavity. In the scheme the atoms are always populated in the two ground states and the cavity remains in the vacuum state. Therefore, the scheme is insensitive to the atomic spontaneous emission and cavity decay. The scheme may be generalized to the deterministic generation of entangled coherent states for two atomic samples. In contrast with the previously proposed schemes of [Commun. Theor. Phys. 40 (2003) 103 and Chin. our scheme is greatly shortened and thus the deeoherence can Phys. B 18 (2009) 1045], the required interaction time in be effectively suppressed. 展开更多

This dispersive interaction can be used to generate a large number of important entangled coherent statesconditional on the initial atomic states and state-selective measurements.
