In the model, two competing firms sell goods to end consumers in the first period, during which customer recognition is obtained. In the second period, advertising can be targeted toward different consumer types. Advertising is assumed to be persuasive in the way that consumer valuation is increased. Equilibrium decisions and profits in each period are derived, showing that the firm who loses the current competition will win in the future. As a result, forward-looking firms price less aggressively so that their long-term profits can be enhanced with the help of TACR. Particularly, TACR improves profits through three important effects: valuation increasing, customer poaching, and anti-competition. Finally, this paper investigates the welfare issues, showing that firms enhance profits at the expense of consumer surplus. It is, therefore, suggested that public sectors take a step to protect consumers with the rapid development of targeting technology.展开更多

The ground roll noise is characterized by elliptical plane polarization, strong energy, low apparent velocity, and low frequency. After low-pass filtering of the 3C data input within a given time-window of the ground roll, the complex covariance matrix is decomposed using the sliding time window with overlapping data and length that depends on the dominant ground-roll frequency. The ground-roll model is established using the main eigenvectors, and the ground roll is detected and identified using the instantaneous polarization area attributes and average energy constraints of the ground-roll zone. Finally, the ground roll is subtracted. The threshold of the method is stable and easy to select, and offers good ground- roll detection. The method is a robust polarization filtering method. Model calculations and actual data indicate that the method can effectively identify and attenuate ground roll while preserving the effective signals.展开更多

It belongs to Family Serranidae of Order Perciformes. Its main features were described as the following: body slim and long, nearly tubby; head long and a little fiat, and proboscis sharp; oral fissure big, the mandible apparent protruding, and the upper jaw outstretch to the area under the eye; ten thin sawteeth and two declining spurs at the rear edge and the ventrolateral edge of the front operculum, respectively; one fiat spine at the back-end of the operculum with one short spine at its up-end; body tawny and some anomalistic macula and dark spots on the head and both sides of the body. Owing to the overfishing and water pollution, the resource amount of the fish has decreased sharply in recent decades. It has been listed in China Red Book of Endangered Animals. Currently, very few studies on this fish species have been carried out, especially those on their breeding, feeding and growing characteristics are even scare. Hence, it is extremely urgent to carry out the study and conservation on this species.展开更多

文摘A two-period duopoly model is developed to examine the competitive effects of targeted advertising with customer recognition (TACR).
