Teacher Talk (TT) is an important language input in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) class and the quality of TT is closely related with the proficiency of second language acquisition. In recent years, many scholars have carried out some theoretical and empirical studies on the various features of TT. Based on the papers published in some world key journals, this paper has made a comparison between Chinese scholars and western scholars on the research features of TT in terms of the three levels: research subject, research methodology and research content. The paper has also proposed some suggestions on how to improve Chinese English teacher's talk and the classroom teaching quality. 展开更多

《1965年》是张曙光“叙事性”诗歌写作的标志之作,也是当代诗歌走向“叙事”的先声之作。无论是“叙事性诗歌”还是“诗歌叙事学”,都不只是与“诗歌”有关,而更是与“叙事学”有关。用叙事学的原理和方法对之加以分析和解读也是对“... 《1965年》是张曙光“叙事性”诗歌写作的标志之作,也是当代诗歌走向“叙事”的先声之作。无论是“叙事性诗歌”还是“诗歌叙事学”,都不只是与“诗歌”有关,而更是与“叙事学”有关。用叙事学的原理和方法对之加以分析和解读也是对“叙事性诗歌”诗学价值与历史意义的一次探索与检验。从“故事”的层面来说,《1965年》在“双重进程”的叙事中书写了时代的文化规约;从“话语”的层面来说,《1965年》从自然叙事法则、个人型叙事声音、儿童叙事视角、反常的省叙等技巧中书写了个人的身份政治。用叙事学的原理与方法进行分析与解读,或许更能还原这类诗歌的诗学旨归,也更能从本原上挖掘“叙事性诗歌”所体现的所谓“当代性”。 展开更多

This article reviews a unique contribution to political discourse analysis and to the study of absence of speech with inspirations for researchers interested in political and media studies. In her recent book Silence and Concealment in Political Discourse, Dr. Melani Schrrter addresses a largely underexplored aspect of political discourse and offers a systematic presentation of theoretical underpinnings and empirical application of the analytical framework proposed for examining discursive absences and communicative value of silence. With three case studies in the German political context, the author demonstrates the possibility and potential in using a combined method to analyze contextualized absence of speech, drawing insights from discourse analysis and pragmatic approaches. This book also deals critically with such significant issues as ritual and political action, thus offering valuable insights to the general theoretical debate on political discourse. 展开更多

The Construction of a Discourse System for Literature Research in Contemporary China

The construction of the literature research discourse in the seven decades since the foundation of the PRC has shown an upward spiral, from 'state/collective discourse' to 'society/individual discourse'... The construction of the literature research discourse in the seven decades since the foundation of the PRC has shown an upward spiral, from 'state/collective discourse' to 'society/individual discourse' and thence to 'world/human discourse.' These related but different discourses have worked together to facilitate literary writing and literature research. During the last 70 years of literature research, the Marxist theory of literature and art has always played a guiding role. Having close links with Chinese literary practice, Marxist theory has had a fundamental impact on the construction of the Chinese literature research discourse system. The emergence of 'state/collective discourse,' 'society/individual discourse' and 'world/human discourse' is an integral, historical, logical and dynamic process. Chinese literature research discourse should be constantly innovated and developed with a vision that looks to the world and the future, in order to contribute Chinese wisdom to dialogues between different academic discourses in the world and thus demonstrate the unique value of Chinese academic research in the humanities. 展开更多

English writing has always been one of the main methods to measure English levels. In the Western academic field, the writing of academic essays is widely used in higher education to assess students' comprehension of the course material and to demonstrate students' academic and research levels. Based on Swales' and Bhatia's approaches, the move analysis is combined with the analysis of linguistic features — lexical and cohesive devices to analyse the research report introduction in order to show the necessity of including discourse analysis into teaching English writing. Based on this analysis, suggested applications for language teaching are put forward. 展开更多
