在当前的语文教学理论中，使用频率最高的概念无疑是“人文性”和“工具性”了，不过前者往往处于褒义语境中，而后者常常处于贬义语境中。可是，在一褒一贬之间，我们在弘扬“人文性”的过程中，是否走得太远，有点过头了?我们在清算“工具性”罪过的过程中，是不是有点过火，失去理智了?

初中语文教学中实施综合性学习方式思考

目前初中语文教学中实施综合性学习方式存在初中语文教师的教学理念尚未得到实质性的转变﹑对过程和主体的整体性关注不够﹑存在“唯语文”倾向等诸多问题。教师要切实转变教学理念、对过程和主体的整体性关注程度等措施的提出对初中语文教学中实施综合性学习方式具有重要意义。

Context-attributed graph grammar framework for specifying visual languages

Since the specifications of most of the existing context-sensitive graph grammars tend to be either too intricate or not intuitive, a novel context-sensitive graph grammar formalism, called context-attributed graph grammar（CAGG）, is proposed. In order to resolve the embedding problem, context information of a graph production in the CAGG is represented in the form of context attributes of the nodes involved. Moreover, several properties of a set of confluent CAGG productions are characterized, and then an algorithm based on them is developed to decide whether or not a set of productions is confluent, which provides the foundation for the design of efficient parsing algorithms. It can also be shown through the comparison of CAGG with several typical context-sensitive graph grammars that CAGG is more succinct and, at the same time, more intuitive than the others, making it more suitably and effortlessly applicable to the specification of visual languages.

A Study of ISA in Chinese Cultural Communication

The paper tentatively studies the function of the indirect speech act in Chinese cultural communication, namely, domestic communication. Two aspects are shown in this paper： communication between people of different social status, genders and casual relationships, and communication between people of same social status, genders and close relationships. Therefore, the study result can be concluded like this： whether the use of indirect speech act is successful or not always influences people＇s communication significantly.

On the clash between the traditional culture and the ＂fast food＂ culture from a perspective of internet language

With the development of the Internet, the Internet language-a new social variant of language comes into being. Owing to its distinctive features, the Internet language draws extensive attention and evokes dispute. Should we make laws to restrict its development or be magnanimous and tolerant？ The present authors think that the dispute reflects the clash between the traditional culture and the ＂fast food＂ culture. The two cultures would co-exist harmoniously and co-develop healthily only if we cherish the law in the development of language and grasp the indirect correlation between them.

Discoursal Features of Teachers＇ Instructional Discourse

Teachers＇ discourse is teachers＇ language used in the classroom. Teachers＇ instructional discourse, a sub-category of teachers＇ discourse, is the medium that teachers use to achieve the teaching and learning goals It is not only the means for teachers to organize teaching activities, but is also taken as the model language by students. This paper examines teachers＇ instructional discourse by focusing on its discoursal features. Drawing on the theories and methods in discourse analysis, four categories of discoursal features in teachers＇ instructional discourse are proposed. They are communicativeness, authenticity, coherence, and grammaticality and appropriateness. The four discoursal features will provide a framework for analyzing teachers＇ instructional discourse in the language classroom

Studies on Interdiscursivity

The present paper defines interdiscursivity as the mixing of diverse genres, discourses, or styles in a single text. It also traces the origin of interdiscursivity and takes it as a special kind of intertextuality. Then the paper gives a review of interdiscursivity studies in literary and non-literary fields. The former is usually conducted from the stylistic approach, while the latter from the CDA （critical discourse analysis） approach. The contributions and limitations of the previous studies are also summarized with the purpose of presenting an objective picture of the research. Based upon the detailed review, the paper offers some perspectives for the future research. It is hoped that this will shed some light on our understanding of interdiscursivity.

The Improvement of CET4 Test

College English Test Band IV has aroused argument among students and English teachers, especially about its validity and reliability. The key problem of CET4 lies in that it lack of validity and its shortcoming results in some negative influence on language teaching. In order to improve the positive backwash of CET4, we must first make clearly six questions concerning validity of test. At the same time we should consider other factors when we reform the CET4.

Language and Culture in Foreign Language Teaching

Culture plays a very important role in language teaching. A deep study of the relationship between language and culture is not only necessary but also urgent in language teaching and learning. The paper briefly points out that in order to make teaching more effective, teachers should not only teach the language itself, but also teach the culture in the language while teaching the foreign language. It analyzes the differences of language customs reflecting in different cultures among different languages （between European languages such as English, Russian and Asian languages such as Kazakh, Chinese）. The analysis of diversity of different social cultures and different language customs of commtmication shows that the culture has a great influence upon the language. It includes the next components： （1） diversity of different geographies, natural environment, and customs, （2） differences of the history, religion, and belief, and （3） diversity of different thoughts of understanding objectivities. Further suggestions concerning how to use culture factors in the teaching procedure are also introduced in detail, such as： （1） the teacher＇s role; （2） the way of explanation, （3） the way of contrast; and （4） the way of practice. In order to conduct foreign language teaching well, teachers must take up the teaching of culture and the teaching of language at the same time. As long as the emphasis is laid both linguistic skills and communicative competence, the goals of language teaching will be achieved satisfactorily.

On Difference of Non-language Culture Between China and America

This article expatiates on the functions and features of Sino-American non-verbal communication. It discusses the relationship between verbal and non-verbal communication, non-verbal communication and culture as well. Furthermore, it analyzes the differences between Sino-American non-verbal communication. It contrasts and demonstrates the following aspects： specific body language, time language, space language and paralanguage. It puts forward some effective strategies, namely, how to get deeper acquaintance with non-verbal communication, how to strengthen cultural mastery and develop the cross-cultural sense and open thought, how to cultivate cross-cultural communicative competence. The article aims to improve the abilities of cross-cultural communication, in order to help both parties of China and America reduce misunderstandings and establish a better relationship.

Analysing Shakespeare＇s Emblem Language in Midsummer Night＇s Dream

Shakespeare has been studied from many perspectives so far. However, his language style used in his literary works is still worth studying. First of all, this study explores changing sense of emblem and emblem language comparing Shakespeare＇s era and today. Secondly, it puts stress on the effects of emblem traditions on Shakespeare. Lastly, this article aims to shed light on his emblematical language in his Midsummer Night＇s Dream, which is one of his most leading works in terms of having highly visible emblematical interpretations.

The Processualities of Literature

The objective of this paper is to demonstrate that the processual aspect of literary works of art deserves much more attention than it normally receives by readers, critics, and theorists. The most important reason for this is seen in the fact that texts since the advent of print culture have been disseminated and passed on in written form and that in the medium of writing the processual character of language is only insufficiently taken care of by a cultural convention of arranging and approaching the presented signs in an particular sequence. Whereas in an oral culture the dynamic processuality of a speech or recitation was directly experienced by the listeners, the spatial arrangement of signs in writing enables and even entices readers and critics to read this or that part of a written text in a sequence of their own making. What remains out of focus is that in doing so they miss the particular semantic profile and aesthetic character of the work as created by the author--a procedure particularly hurtful in the case of literary works of art. There is hope, however, that this will somewhat change by our moving towards a performance culture

Stylistic Analysis of Hopkins＇ Sonnet ＂No Worst＂

In this paper, I shall discuss the warranty and significance for these foregrounded regularities and irregularities stylistically, and evaluate it in the context.

Writing as a Supplement： Jacques Derrida＇s Deconstructive Reading of Rousseau＇s Confessions

The present study constitutes a critical appraisal of the deconstructive reading of Rousseau＇s Confessions that Derrida undertakes in the second part of Of Grammatology. In this examination, the author will first list some of the significations into which Derrida disperses （forced, as he asserts himself, by an ＂inassimilable residue＂ in the text itself） the meaning that he has already construed as apparently simple during the first moment of deconstructive reading （i.e., ＂the doubling commentary＂）; the author will then go on to enquire into the operations which enable Derrida to arrive at these self-conflicting significations. The main aim of this essay is to demonstrate that it is not language alone that disables the philosophy of Rousseau and enables the philosophy of Derrida. When Derrida attempts to support his philosophy through an analysis of Rousseau＇s theory of language and the alleged contradictions in Rousseau＇s texts, he misinterprets basic tenets of these texts in order to make them conform to the presuppositions of the deconstructive approach. The ＂reversal＂ and ＂displacement＂ of metaphysical conceptuality in the text of the Confessions is made possible after the text has had meanings transposed into it from a plurality of other texts. Derrida attributes to the text significations he discovers by construing, explicating and over-reading passages that occur elsewhere in Rousseau＇s total oeuvre （especially in the Essay on the Origin of Languages）.
