Opinions on Classroom Teaching in Developing Students＇ Ability in English Listening and Speaking

This paper, with the questionnaire and interview as the main research methods, sums up and analyses the chief factors that cause the divorce between listening and speaking in current classroom teaching, and puts forward some proposals as an approach to the divorce problem, It is hoped that these proposals will be of some help to our teaching in listening and speaking, so as to enhance students＇ listening and speaking ability effectively.

A novel understanding about oxidization of glucose in term of Wuxing TCM theory

Yin-yang theory and Wuxing theory are the core parts of Traditional Chinese Medicine（TCM）. Most of researches on Wuxing theory are based on the paradigm of TCM or Traditional Chinese Culture. It is an evitable challenge to interpret Wuxing theory in the term of biomolecular, biochemistry, stem cell and so on. The oxidation of glucose is the important pathway in cell and there are five basic factors which will be responsible for the undergoing of this reaction. The relationships among these factors are similar to Wuxing theory just like inter-promotion and inter-restraint. So, this understanding on Wuxing theory maybe take some advancement for the modernization of TCM.

How Is a Round Character Achieved in Maupassant＇s Moonlight： Exploring an Aspect of Narrative Text

The study of characters forms one of the major components in the field of narratology, characters are normally classified into round or flat, static or dynamic, two-dimensional or three-dimensional. This paper explores how a round character, which is typically created in long novels, exceptionally and well-roundedly produced in Maupassant＇s short story Moonlight, and thereby demonstrates his art of pens and why he was honored ＂master of short story writing＂.

An interpretation of alienation theme in J. D. Salinger＇s The catcher in the rye and Nine stories

J. D. Salinger is an alienated writer, who alienates himself from the dominant society. He is unsocial in character and unconventional in behavior. His reclusion can be regarded as the behavioral presentation of his alienation. Salinger also portrays many alienated characters in his The catcher in the rye and Nine stories. These alienated characters include children, adolescents and adults. They alienate themselves from dominant social culture, groups and even themselves. According to the analysis of these alienated protagonists from autobiographical and historical perspectives, the root of their alienation lies in the conflict between their searching for the ideal love and the absence of such love in the dominant society. So comparing with enjoying substantial life, Salinger＇s works can arouse people＇s interest and give more concern to their spiritual life.

Ophthalmic Syndrome Differentiation System and Digital Chinese Medicine

In traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),ophthalmic syndrome differentiation is an ophthalmology-specific method for identifying syndromes based on the“Five Orbiculi”theory.It was devised by Professor Qing-Hua PENG through an unprecedented combination of syndrome element differentiation and ophthalmic clinical practices,based on the Clinical Terminology of Chinese Medical Diagnosis and Treatment-Syndromes of the National Standards of the People's Republic of China.This approach integrates an ophthalmic syndrome differentiation system with digital Chinese medicine(DCM),and proposes the extraction of syndrome elements of ophthalmic diseases from research on DCM.These elements are then quantified and organized to form a model of digital diagnosis and treatment specific to ophthalmology,which should help to achieve synergistic development of the ophthalmic syndrome differentiation system and DCM.

On Hemingway＇s iceberg theory

As one of the most influential American writers in the 20th century, Hemingway pioneered a generation of writing style. He is famous for his unique writing style-iceberg theory. In this paper, the author firstly introduces the different views about Hemingway＇s iceberg theory among the critics. And then the author discusses the theory from the aspects of succinct words and symbolism. On the dimensions of describing scenery, portraying figures and describing psychology, Hemingway＇s style is seemingly rather simple and direct. On the other hand, the theme of Hemingway＇s works is symbolic and provides much room for thinking. Hemingway endowed his works with symbolic meanings by using the methods of pun and coda. Also, meanings of Christian symbolism are obvious in his works. Through discussion, the author refutes the critics＇ negative opinions towards iceberg theory.

Othello： From Shakespeare＇s play to Oliver Parker＇s film

Othello has long been recognized as one of the most powerful of Shakespeare＇s tragedies. It is an intense drama of love, deception, jealousy and destruction. Desdemona＇s love for Othello, the Moor, transcends racial prejudice, but the envious Iago conspires to destroy their lives. In its vivid rendering of racism, sexism, contested identities, and the savagery lurking within civilization, Othello is inarguably the most topical and accessible tragedy from Shakespeare＇s major phase as a dramatist. Productions on stage and screen regularly renew its power to engross, impress and trouble the imagination. A good adaptation can neither remain confined to the theatre stage nor abandon that intrinsic theatricality which beats in the heart of Shakespearean drama. Of different adaptations of Othello, the American director, Oliver Parker＇s is one of those which reconcile very well the theatrical drama with cinematic elements. This paper, based on Shakespeare＇s play, will make a brief analysis on Oliver Parker＇s film and then focus on a comparison between the characterizations of the evil character, Iago, in Shakespeare＇s play and in Oliver Parker＇s film.

In vivo histological diagnosis for gastric cancer using endocytoscopy

AIM To examine usefulness of virtual biopsy using endocytoscopy by comparing the in vivo endocytoscopic and histopathological images of gastric cancers.METHODS Endocytoscopy was performed in 30 patients with early gastric cancer. Of these, 26 patients showed well differentiated adenocarcinomas, while 4 patients showed poorly differentiated adenocarcinomas(including one signet ring cell carcinoma). Cancerous and non-cancerous areas were observed after double staining with 0.05% crystal violet and 0.1% methylene blue. The endocytoscopic images obtained were evaluated by an expert endoscopist and an expert pathologist without knowledge of patient clinical data, and endocytoscopic and histopathological diagnoses were compared.RESULTS The endocytoscopic images of the cancerous area were assessed as evaluable in 25(83.3%) and 27(90%) patients by endoscopist A and pathologist B, respectively, and those of the non-cancerous area as evaluable in 28(93.3%) and 23(76.7%) patients by the endoscopist and pathologist, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy of gastric cancer diagnosis using evaluable endocytoscopic images were 88.0% and 92.9%, and 90.6% by endoscopist A, and 88.9% and 91.3%, and 90.0% by pathologist B, respectively. Evaluation of the diagnostic concordance rate between the endoscopist and the pathologist by inter-observer agreement calculation revealed no significant difference between the two observers. The inter-observer agreement(κ-value) for endocytoscopic diagnosis was 0.745. CONCLUSION Endocytoscopy is useful for the differentiation of cancerous from non-cancerous gastric mucosa, making it a promising tool for virtual biopsy.

Clinical Observation on Acupuncture Intervention for Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Objective： To observe the effect of acupuncture for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder （ADHD）. Methods： A total of 36 cases were recruited in this study. Before treatment, a Chinese medical constitution survey was conducted on these children. Based on the survey findings, the children were divided in different groups for acupuncture intervention. Additionally, the heart rate variability and attention were detected respectively before treatment, in the 12th and 24th week after treatment. Results： ADHD kids commonly manifest as a body constitution of yang predominance and heat exuberance. The kids＇ Body Mass Indexes （BMI） are moderately correlated with attention deficit disorder （ADD）. After the treatment of 24 weeks, the ADHD scores were reduced from （10.94±1.98） to （8.56±2.48）, showing a statistical significance （P〈0.05）; in addition, the low frequency/high frequency （LF/HF） and normalized low frequency （nLF） between the two groups were also statistically different （P〈0.05）. Conclusion： Most ADHD kids present with a body constitution of yang predominance and heat exuberance. A well-controlled BMI is helpful for ADHD treatment. Acupuncture can be a supplementary therapy to improve the ADHD symptoms.

Basic Techniques and Applications of Three-layer Moving Cupping Method

In the systematical study on moving cupping method by combination of the clinical practice, the time, speed and strength of moving cupping method are quantified. 15 basic manual techniques of moving cupping methods have been summarized and 10 clinical application protocols have been recommended. In accordance with acupuncture theory, the concept of ＂three-layer moving cupping method＂ has been submitted, in the knowledge that different manual techniques, different protocols in the clinical application can produce different therapeutic effects of different therapies like warming moxibustion, cupping method, scratching method, massage and herbal therapy.

A novel forwarding and routing mechanism design in SDN-based NDN architecture

Combining named data networking（NDN） and software-defined networking（SDN） has been considered as an important trend and attracted a lot of attention in recent years. Although much work has been carried out on the integration of NDN and SDN, the forwarding mechanism to solve the inherent problems caused by the flooding scheme and discard of interest packets in traditional NDN is not well considered. To fill this gap, by taking advantage of SDN, we design a novel forwarding mechanism in NDN architecture with distributed controllers, where routing decisions are made globally. Then we show how the forwarding mechanism is operated for interest and data packets. In addition, we propose a novel routing algorithm considering quality of service（QoS） applied in the proposed forwarding mechanism and carried out in controllers. We take both resource consumption and network load balancing into consideration and introduce a genetic algorithm（GA） to solve the QoS constrained routing problem using global network information. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed routing scheme.
