Revision is an important part of writing process but it often baffles the researchers due to the difficulties in recording the revision process of students. Based on a self-made questionnaire and the online record of the revision process, this study describes the English learners' revision behaviors and process in their second semester of a two-year writing course. The analysis indicates that the English learners hold a positive attitude towards revision and but passive in resorting to outside sources for help. The source of the feedback has a great influence on their motivation of revision. On the other hand, although they use all types of revision operations, they concentrate on surface changes and simple operations. 展开更多

This study attempts to investigate if and how students' perceptions regarding the first accounting course related with the selection of accounting as a major. Moreover, it examines students' initial perceptions and course performance regarding the introductory accounting course. Participants in this study were 120 students from Technological Educational Institute of Kavala, School of Business and Economics (3 departments), who were asked to complete a survey instrument. The instrument used eleven statements regarding students' perceptions (such as difficulty and motivation of the course) of the first accounting course. The main factors affect students' decisions to follow accounting and seem to be similar with other researchers' findings (Geiger & Ogilby, 2000). Future research could be used larger sample from different countries and the survey could also be used for a longer time period. 展开更多

The present paper reviews 25 studies conducted in the domain of L2 (second/foreign language) dynamic assessment (DA) in recent years. It begins with a survey of relevant research, then discusses some of the major ... The present paper reviews 25 studies conducted in the domain of L2 (second/foreign language) dynamic assessment (DA) in recent years. It begins with a survey of relevant research, then discusses some of the major findings and problems, and finishes with some suggestions for further research. The main findings of the review are as follows: (a) DA has the potential to promote L2 competence development; (b) both the interactionist approach and interventionist approach have attracted the interest of L2 researchers; (c) most studies have focused on small samples; (d) reading and grammatical knowledge have drawn the most attention; (e) group DA may be a potential method to advance L2 competence development in both the focused individual and the other members of the group; (f) computers might play a complementary role to humans acting as mediators; and (g) case study methodology has been the overwhelming choice for experimental design. Based on the available research, we suggest that additional studies are called for on the following issues: (a) L2 DA as an approach to measurement, (b) potential mediators, (c) validity issues of L2 DA, (d) the interface between DA and second language acquisition, and (e) the development of L2 classroom teachers. 展开更多
