The Preference of Sculpture Landscape Types among College Students in Different Psychological States

In this paper, characteristics of sculptures and tiie preference for sculptures of college students in different state of mind were analyzed. A total of 165 college students were invited to participate in the study. The method of image fating was employed to investigate these students,landscape preferences after they completed the Profile of Mood States （POMS）. The results showed that when the sculptures were placed alone, students in a positive mood had a preference for abstract sculptures, students in a negative mood had a preference for figumtive sculptures with unique symbolic meanings, and paftidpatofy sculptures were populous among college students in different emotional states. When sculptures were placed in the environmentj natural elements of die sculptures greatly affected college students, preference＊ Students in a positive mood tended to choose sculpture landscapes combined with plants, and students in a negative mood had a preference for sculpture landscapes with water bodies. There were difFefences in the types of sculptxiie landscapes that the college stxidents in different moods thought can telieve their bad moods. Apart from tiieir current dominant emotions, the results of the stxidy were related to their past experiences, cultural backgrounds,and fimctions,social attributes and symbols of the landscape.

Analysis of Buddhist sculpture art in Wei, Jin, southern and Northern Dynasties

The emergence and development of Buddhist sculpture has completely changed the original Chinese ancient sculpture, rich China sculpture theme, greatly promote the development of the Chinese sculpture, in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Buddhist sculpture received considerable development, the art form is abundant, representative of the ＂ slim but clear appearance＂ and＂ images of noble figures ＂two kinds of modeling features. From the perspective of historical background and aesthetic orientation, this paper analyzes and studies the overall features of the art of carving art in this historical period, as well as its profound influence on the development of Chinese Buddhist statues.

Reconstruction of Images-- Realistic Oil Paintings

Realistic oil painting and abstract oil painting is easel plastic arts. And it is realism of style and presentation. The current Chinese realistic oil painting is the product of local culture. The construction of Chinese oil paintings doesn＇t follow modem art, and it has its own soil and space of survival and development. It becomes the mainstream in the art pattern. In practical construction, it presents the characteristics that technical level develops towards simplification and reinforcement, the function of lyric ideogram of paintings and graphic description becomes weak, the real transformation of three-dimensional space is transferred to reconstruction of two degree and a half space and the pursuit for language form constitution relation of paintings. And it presents strong symbolization feature.

Fine Artists ofPanay： A Pioneering Study of Their Works and Lives

This paper documents the works and lives of selected visual artists from Panay provinces. The selection of the artist was based on meeting at least two of the following criteria： （1） The artist should have a major award（s） in any prestigious national fine arts contests which included the MADE （Metrobank Art and Design Excellence）, A.AP （Art Association of the Philippines）, Petron, GSIS （Government Service Insurance System）, and the Biennial Dumaguete Open Terra Cotta Festival contests; （2） He/she should have had one-man or two-man exhibitions at reputed galleries; and （3） He/she should be active in the local art scene, meaning, a continuous schedule of exhibits during the past three years. Mostly self-taught, the artists＇ artistic inclinations manifested early in childhood when they discovered their talents; this led to their resolve to seriously pursue with enduring fervor their art careers. Their sense of calling amid a less ideal art scene did not give way to the voice of conformity but they have maintained a clear sense of identity and destiny as inspiring art icons in their milieu. The analyses of the works of these artists lead to the observation of the Panayanon artistic tradition. Aside from the formalist descriptions of the artworks＇ features, the analyses go further into the contextual and evaluative levels that reveal a highly nuanced meaning and semantic richness of the works. The paintings and sculptural pieces of the artists are expressions of their true ＂voices＂, fresh innovations that have earned accolades even if these innovations are untamed by the academe

The Effect of Art Music on Pompeo Coppini： Greatest Sculptor of Texas Monuments

Art music has the ability to communicate, entertain, and inspire other artists. Opera is a dramatic multimedia genre which fuses solo and choral singing with instrumental accompaniment, dance, staging, costumes, scenery, and libretto. This multimedia approach can inspire painters, sculptors, poets, writers, and other musicians in their works. Italian opera greatly inspired Pompeo Coppini--the Italian sculptor. In particular, scenes and arias by Verdi and Puccini correlate with specific tasks involved in the creation of a monument. In creating the Alamo cenotaph, Coppini often played Gioacchino Rossini＇s opera, ＂William Tell＂ （1829） correlating the sacrifices made by Texans for their independence at the Alamo （1836） with the sacrifices made by Swiss patriots in their independence from Austrian tyranny. This case study suggests that art music can enhance creativity and visual attention among artists of all genres.
