A model was established, consisting of four part: source estimation, environmental fate analysis, exposure analysis and risk assessment. The human health risk, ecological risk and total risk of lead emissions were assessed. The factors were estimated to indicate the environmental decrease and exposure probability. Of all the 1887 t emissions in China in 2010(quantified in the previous work), it is turned out 1.3 t reached human bodies(0.9 mg/ca), and 2.7 t reached the ecosystem. Lead mainly came from the Use stage for the source while lead causing risk mainly came from the Waste Management Recycling and Production stages. As for chemical forms, PbO contributed most to the human health risk and PbSO_4 contributed most to the ecological risk. PbSO_4, PbO and Pb altogether contributed 71% to the total risk, indicating these three chemicals should be taken priority for the risk management.展开更多

Results: Both scalp electroacupuncture and conventional body acupuncture exert therapeutic effect for apoplexy, but the effect of scalp electroacupuncture is obviously better than that of conventional acupuncture (P< 0.05 ); both treatment group and control group are statistically significant in reducing plasma viscosity, high shear reduced viscosity, low shear reduced viscosity, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, hematocrit and fibrinogen, (P<0.01 and 0.05); while the treatment group is statistically significant in reducing whole blood viscosity, ratio of whole blood viscosity, erythrocyte index of rigidity and electrophoresis time of erythrocyte (P<0.01~ 0.05), but the control group is not significant statistically in influencing these indexes (P>0.05).展开更多

After 30 sessions of treatment, there was a significant difference between the two groups in the therapeutic effect (P<0.05), indicating enclosing needling being superior to scalpacupuncture. Due to an increase in the consumption of antimicrobials in the Danish pig production further actions were implemented in July 2010. These were: a voluntary ban on use of cephalosporin in Danish swine herds for a 2-year period and a so-called Yellow Card scheme from the DVFA (Danish Veterinary and Food Administration). Farmers with the highest use of antibiotics receive a Yellow Card. In 2010, approximately 10% of Danish herds were above the Yellow Card threshold value. The consumption of antimicrobials in pigs is evaluated as ADD (animal daily doses) per 100 animals over the last 9 months (by age group). Current permit limits for a Yellow Card in ADD/100 animal days are 5.2 (sows and piglets), 28 (weaners), and 8 (finishers). In July 2010, farmers with an antimicrobial use close to these limits were warned by the DVFA, that unless actions were taken to reduce their antimicrobial use, they would receive a Yellow Card in December 2010. The means are, for instance, restrictions on oral medication usage and supervision from the authorities to which most expenses are to be covered by the farmer. The warning resulted in a decrease in the national consumption to pigs of 12.5% during the last half-year of 2010 compared to the same half-year in 2009. This decrease continued into 2011 where the consumption in January-February was 24.5% lower than for January-February 2010.展开更多

This paper initially introduces risk assessment approaches within the emerging role of ports Thereafter, it qualitatively assesses their potential for ports by discussing issues challenging every safety and security approach within the maritime industry such as proactiveness, organization, transparency, cost-effectiveness and, when possible, calibration to specific experiences. Moreover, an empirical study was conducted in order to provide evidence for formal risk assessment for safety and security in the main Greek port container terminals of Piraeus and Thessaloniki. The empirical research is based on in-depth semi-structured interviews with the administrations of container terminals. The results include important findings, regarding the likelihood of appearance of certain risks and their perceived severity in Greek container terminals. The collected answers and their analysis are also important for confirming the suggested theoretical formal risk assessment framework for ports.展开更多

Methods The method recommended in the Cochrane Collaboration was used for the systematic evaluation of the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of scalp acupuncture in the treatment of ischemic stroke. Results One thousand three hundred and ninety-five cases from 13 papers in Chinese version were in compliance with the inclusive criteria and all of them were the low-quality trials. The results of the included 5 trials in Meta analysis indicated that the efficacy of scalp acupuncture was superior to medication in the treatment of ischemic stroke (RR=1.27, 95% CI 1.06, 1.51). The results of 3 trials in Meta analysis suggested that the recovery in the nerve function defect of the patients with ischemic stroke treated with scalp acupuncture was apparent as compared with medication (WMD = -2.96, 95% C1-4.00, -1.92). The results of 5 trials in Meta analysis showed that the efficacy of scalp acupuncture on ischemic stroke was potentially superior to body acupuncture (RR=I.10, 95% CI 0.93, 1.28). Conclusion It is seen in the Meta analysis results of the included 13 RCTs that scalp acupuncture achieves the definite efficacy on ischemic stroke. Due to the limitation of the inclusive numbers and quality of the research, especially the lack of long-term indices, the conclusion reliability of this research is relatively low. Hence, it is required much more evidences for a further confirmation from the large scale and multiple central RCTs with high quality and intrinsic authenticity.展开更多

Methods Sixty cases of aphasia of ischemic apoplexy were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 30 cases in each group. The patients in the control group received speech training, and in the observation group, on the basis of speech training, acupuncture was given at the anterior oblique line of vertex temporal, the posterior oblique line of vertex temporal and the middle line of vertex, and after withdrawal of the needles, the area enclosed by the 4 lines of the anterior oblique line of vertex temporal, the middle line of vertex, the posterior oblique line of vertex temporal, and connective line of Qǔbìn (曲鬓 GB 7) with Xuánlí(悬厘 GB 6) was tapped 2-3 times with plum-blossom needles. The assessment criteria in Chinese Aphasia Set Tests were used for comparison of scores of all the sub-items between the two groups. Results After treatment, scores of information amount, fluency, retelling, naming of words, naming of colors, naming of response, answer to yes or no question, hearing and recognizing, executing an order, etc. were signif icantly increased in both the two groups (all P0.05), and the scores of all the above items in the observation group were more significantly increased as compared with those in the control group (all P0.05). Conclusion Scalp acupuncture, plum-blossom needle tapping combined with speech training has a significant therapeutic effect on aphasia of ischemic apoplexy, which is better than that of simple speech training.展开更多
