The Fe-based amorphous metallic matrix coating (Fe-AMMC) was fabricated with the powder mixtures of Fe-based metallic glass synthesized with industrial raw materials, NiCr alloy and WC particle by high velocity oxy-...The Fe-based amorphous metallic matrix coating (Fe-AMMC) was fabricated with the powder mixtures of Fe-based metallic glass synthesized with industrial raw materials, NiCr alloy and WC particle by high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying. The corrosion resistance of Fe-AMMC was investigated by potentiodynamic polarization tests in 1 mol/L HCl, NaCl, H2SO4 and NaOH solutions, respectively. The surface morphologies corroded were observed by SEM. The results indicate that Fe-AMMC exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, higher corrosion resistance than 304L stainless steel in the chloride solutions. The low corrosion current density and passive current density of Fe-AMMC with a wide spontaneous passivation region are about 132.0μA/cm2 and 9.0 mA/cm2 in HCl solution, and about 2.5 μA/cm2 and 2.3 mA/cm2 in NaCl solution. The excellent corrosion resistance demonstrates that Fe-based amorphous metallic matrix powder is a viable engineering material in practical anti-corrosion and anti-wear coating applications.展开更多

By studying tool durability, machined hole quality, tool wear mechanism, ch...Two new AlTiN coated cemented carbide drills with Al content of 40% and 55% in weight are developed for high efficiency dry drilling of 40Cr. By studying tool durability, machined hole quality, tool wear mechanism, chip deformation, and lubrication, the dry drilling performance of the two kinds of coated drills is analyzed. Experimental results show that the AlTiN coated drills are suitable for high efficiency dry drilling and can obtain higher quality of machined holes. The tool durability of the drill with 55% Al content is 1. 3 times of that of the drill with 40% Al content at the cutting speed of 90 m/min. The wear mechanism of two AlTiN coatings are studied in experiments. During dry drilling process, oxidative wear appears in both two kinds of drills. The oxide film is formed on the top of the coated drill containing Al content of 55%. And the oxide film helps to increase its high temperature resistance and decrease the coating flaking, thus the drill is failed because of coating subsidence. The drill with less Al content is failed due to peeling and breakage. The lubricated condition in dry drilling is improved by the high Al content coating. It helps to reduce the cutting deformation and benefits to improve the quality of machined holes. The AlTiN coating with higher Al content shows longer tool life and higher quality of machined holes in high efficiency dry drilling. Its tool life increases by 30% compared with that of the coating with less Al content.展开更多

The isothermal and cyclic oxidation tests were conducted at 900 °C for 1000 h and 120 cycles to check the oxidation resistance of the coating. The microstructure and phase transformation of the coating before and after the oxidation were studied by SEM, XRD and EPMA. The results indicate that the diffusion coating shows good oxidation resistance. The mass gain of the diffusion coating is only a quarter of that of bare alloy. After oxidation, the diffusion coating is degraded into three layers: an inner TiAl2 layer, a two-phase intermediate layer composed of a Ti(Al,Si)3 matrix and Si-rich precipitates, and a porous layer because of the inter-diffusion between the coating and substrate.展开更多

The dry frictional wear behaviors of the coatings at 500 ℃ in static air were investigated. The comparison was made with the coating without nano-particles. The results show that the wear mechanism of the NiCoCrAlY coatings with nano-particles, like the coating without nano-particles, is the delamination wear due to the strong plastic deformation and oxidative wear. However, the frictional coefficient of the coatings increases and presents the decrease trend with the increase of sliding distance after adding nano-particles. Moreover, the wear rate of the coatings with nano-particles is only 34.0%-64.5% of the coating without nano-particles. Among the three nano-particles, the improvement of nano-SiC on the high temperature wear resistance of the coating is the most significant.展开更多

The curve of surface roughness versus honing time showed a rapid improvement initially and thereafter became steady, manifesting a saturation effect. The optimal honing time related to surface roughness was determined to be approximately 20 s. As the surface roughness increased, the critical loads reduced. At an average surface roughness (Ra) of 0.028 p.m, the highest critical loads of TiN and TiAlN coating layers were 98 and 114 N, respectively. Tool performances of uncoated and coated tools were conducted under high speed machining (HSM) of AISI D2 cold-worked die steel (62 HRC). Consequently, the TiAlN coated end-mill using honing treatment showed excellent tool life under HSM conditions.展开更多

On the basis of boronnitride(BN) and aluminum nitride(AIN) used as thermal conductive fillers and by means of the testing system of hot disk and heat transfer experiment, researches on the varieties of thermal conductive fillers and the effects of the contents of high-thermal conductive coating have been done, which shows that the thermal conductivity of coating increases with the increase of the quality fraction and the coefficient of thermal conductivity of the thermal conductive fillers of coating. With guaranteeing better heat resistance, stronger corrosion resistance and adhesive force, the coefficient of coating can reach a level as high as 3 W·m-1·K-1.展开更多

Surface microstructures of the coatings were analyzed by opti...Three types of FeMnCrAl/Cr3C2 coatings with different AI content were deposited on 20# steel substrates by the high velocity arc spraying (HVAS) process. Surface microstructures of the coatings were analyzed by optical microscopy (OM) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). High temperature erosion (HTE) tests were performed in an erosion tester at different impact angles. The surface morphologies of the eroded coatings were observed on a field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM). The laminated structure is found on all the prepared coatings with the porosity and oxide fraction in the coatings decreasing with the Al content from 0 to 15% (mass fraction). Sample FA3 with 15% Al, possessing the lowest porosity and oxide fraction, has the best HTE resistance, which demonstrates that Al addition can improve the HTE resistance of the coatings. The erosion rate of sample FA1 exhibits a maximum value at 90° impact angle. The maximum erosion rates of both FA2 and FA3 samples appear in the range of 60°-90° impact angles. Erosion loss of the coatings occurs through brittle breaking, cutting and fatigue spalling.展开更多

The TGO growth during thermal exposure in air plays an important role in the spallation of the ceramic layer from the bond coat. High temperature oxidation resistance of four types of atmospheric plasma sprayed TBCs was investigated. These coatings were oxidized at 1000 °C for 24, 48 and 120 h in a normal electric furnace under air atmosphere. Microstructural characterization showed that the growth of the TGO layer in nano NiCrAlY/YSZ/nano Al2O3 coating is much lower than in other coatings. Moreover, EDS and XRD analyses revealed the formation of Ni(Cr,Al)2O4 mixed oxides (as spinel) and NiO onto the Al2O3 (TGO) layer. The formation of detrimental mixed oxides (spinels) on the Al2O3 (TGO) layer of nano NiCrAlY/YSZ/nano Al2O3 coating is much lower compared to that of other coatings after 120 h of high temperature oxidation at 1000 °C.展开更多

The microstructure was studie...Abstract: In order to improve the surface hardness and wear resistance of magnesium, Al-13%Si (mass fraction) alloy coating was deposited on pure magnesium by droplet spraying process. The microstructure was studied by electron probe microanalysis and X-ray diffraction. The micro-hardness and wear resistance of coating were investigated in comparison with those of the substrate. It is found that the coating layer is composed of a-Al cellular due to rapid solidification. Formation mechanism of the coating is due to the obstruction of diffusion by in-situ formed Mg2Si in interracial layer. The coating exhibits higher hardness compared to that of the Mg substrate. As result of its high hardness, the wear resistance of the coating layer is about ten times that of the substrate. The droplet spraying process demonstrates that the magnesium surface can be strengthened by using the existing Al-Si alloys.展开更多

The effects of nano-size nickel particles on the wear resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance of coating substrate system were investigated through oxidation kinetics experiment and wear resistance test. The morphologies of the specimens were examined by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The results show that the high temperature ultra fine ceramic coating has notable protection effect on industrially pure titanium TB1-0 from oxidation. The oxidation and wear resistance properties of the coating can be effectively improved by adding nano-size nickel particles. The oxidative mass gain of the specimen decreases from 11.33 mg·cm-2 to 5.25 mg·cm-2 and the friction coefficient decreases from 1.1 to 0.6 by adding nano-size nickel particles, and the coating containing 10% (mass fraction) nano-size nickel shows the optimum properties.展开更多
Failures due to high-cycle fatigue have led to a high cost in aerospace engineering over the past few decades.In this paper,the experimental results of the fatigue behavior of compressor blade specimen subjected to re...Failures due to high-cycle fatigue have led to a high cost in aerospace engineering over the past few decades.In this paper,the experimental results of the fatigue behavior of compressor blade specimen subjected to resonance and the effects of a damping hard coating on relieving the fatigue progress are presented.The crack initiation and propagation processes were observed under resonance of the first bending mode by using the resonant frequencies as the indicator.Significant nonlinear features were observed in the spectrum of the blade with a fatigue crack.The finite element model considering the breathing crack was established with nonlinear contact based on the crack localization and size,which was obtained by ultrasonic phased array technology.The simulation results of the vibration behavior of the cracked blade were obtained and consistent with the experimental results.A NiCrAlY coating was deposited on the blade,and increases in the fatigue life were observed under the same condition.The results of this paper can help to better understand the fatigue of a compressor blade subjected to resonance and provide a preference for the application of a damping hard coating on compressor blades.展开更多

And the factors of the initial thickness of coating and temperature of electrical furnace were considered. The high temperature response behavior of the intumescent coating was observed. And the expansion form of ultrathin intumescent coating and the temperature of the steel plate(TS) were obtained. Besides, the heat flux from expansion layer to steel plate versus time was analyzed in order to evaluate the heat transfer effect of intumescent coating on steel plate. The experimental results show that the response behaviors of the coating subjected to fire could be divided into four phases: stabilization phase, foaming expansion phase, carbonization-consumption phase and inorganic layer phase. And the net heat flux to the steel plate decreased observably in the foaming expansion phase, while the surplus white inorganic substance, which is the residue of the intumesced char layer in the inorganic layer phase under the condition of the temperature of the electrical furnace(TEF) beyond 700 °C over 1 h, has little effect on fire protection for the steel plate.展开更多

The results showed that CeO2 coating reduced effectively the oxidation rate of TP30...Oxidation behaviors of TP304H steel with electrophoresis deposited CeO2 coating in water vapor were studied at 610℃~770℃ for 65 h. The results showed that CeO2 coating reduced effectively the oxidation rate of TP304H. Analysis with SEM and EDS showed the structure of oxide scale turned from multi-layer to mono-layer and oxide scale with high Cr content formed on the surface of CeO2 coating while inner oxidation disappeared. Based on test results and CeO2characters that Ce ion can vary between Ce4+ and Ce3+ under oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor environment, it is concluded that CeO2 coating acts as a barrier to prevent oxygen inner diffusion and the partial oxygen pressure of CeO2 coating-substrate interface is limited. Cr first diffuses outward across CeO2 coating and forms oxide scale on the surface, which delays formation of Fe oxide.展开更多

Take Shanghai for example, where this design and heat transfer model are applied, the average efficiency of water heaters can achieve 68%, which has proven the feasibility of the design. 文摘The objective of this work is to compare the tool performance of TiN and TiA1N coated carbides end-mills deposited by an arc ion plating (ALP) method, using honing treatment to polish the cutting edge surface sleekly. The curve of surface roughness versus honing time showed a rapid improvement initially and thereafter became steady, manifesting a saturation effect. The optimal honing time related to surface roughness was determined to be approximately 20 s. As the surface roughness increased, the critical loads reduced. At an average surface roughness (Ra) of 0.028 p.m, the highest critical loads of TiN and TiAlN coating layers were 98 and 114 N, respectively. Tool performances of uncoated and coated tools were conducted under high speed machining (HSM) of AISI D2 cold-worked die steel (62 HRC). Consequently, the TiAlN coated end-mill using honing treatment showed excellent tool life under HSM conditions.

文摘Yttria-stablized zirconia(YSZ)/(Ni,Al)coatings were deposited on Inconel600alloy substrate by the electrophoreticdeposition combined with vacuum sintering technique.The effects of isothermal oxidation at1100°C on the composition of thecoatings and the crack healing were investigated,and the corrosion resistance of the coatings in3.5%NaCl(mass fraction)solutionwas also studied.The results showed that the cracks on the coating gradually healed up with the increase of the isothermal oxidationtime.During isothermal oxidation process,the coating composed of Ni3Al was transformed toα-Al2O3particulates.Theα-Al2O3particulates can seal the defects such as pores and cracks,and meanwhile prevent the oxygen diffusion into the coatings.Thepolarization curves and EIS results indicated that the coatings oxidized for40h had a more positive corrosion potential,higherbreakdown potential,higher impedance module at low frequency and much lower corrosion current density compared with YSZcoated and uncoated Inconel600alloys.

文摘Based on modified silicon polyester resin in addition to several functional fillers such as corrosion-resistant fillers, heat-resistant fillers and thermal conductive fillers, a high thermal conductive coating can be made. On the basis of boronnitride(BN) and aluminum nitride(AIN) used as thermal conductive fillers and by means of the testing system of hot disk and heat transfer experiment, researches on the varieties of thermal conductive fillers and the effects of the contents of high-thermal conductive coating have been done, which shows that the thermal conductivity of coating increases with the increase of the quality fraction and the coefficient of thermal conductivity of the thermal conductive fillers of coating. With guaranteeing better heat resistance, stronger corrosion resistance and adhesive force, the coefficient of coating can reach a level as high as 3 W·m-1·K-1.

文摘Three types of FeMnCrAl/Cr3C2 coatings with different AI content were deposited on 20# steel substrates by the high velocity arc spraying (HVAS) process. Surface microstructures of the coatings were analyzed by optical microscopy (OM) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). High temperature erosion (HTE) tests were performed in an erosion tester at different impact angles. The surface morphologies of the eroded coatings were observed on a field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM). The laminated structure is found on all the prepared coatings with the porosity and oxide fraction in the coatings decreasing with the Al content from 0 to 15% (mass fraction). Sample FA3 with 15% Al, possessing the lowest porosity and oxide fraction, has the best HTE resistance, which demonstrates that Al addition can improve the HTE resistance of the coatings. The erosion rate of sample FA1 exhibits a maximum value at 90° impact angle. The maximum erosion rates of both FA2 and FA3 samples appear in the range of 60°-90° impact angles. Erosion loss of the coatings occurs through brittle breaking, cutting and fatigue spalling.

文摘A thermally grown oxide (TGO) layer is formed at the interface of bond coat/top coat. The TGO growth during thermal exposure in air plays an important role in the spallation of the ceramic layer from the bond coat. High temperature oxidation resistance of four types of atmospheric plasma sprayed TBCs was investigated. These coatings were oxidized at 1000 °C for 24, 48 and 120 h in a normal electric furnace under air atmosphere. Microstructural characterization showed that the growth of the TGO layer in nano NiCrAlY/YSZ/nano Al2O3 coating is much lower than in other coatings. Moreover, EDS and XRD analyses revealed the formation of Ni(Cr,Al)2O4 mixed oxides (as spinel) and NiO onto the Al2O3 (TGO) layer. The formation of detrimental mixed oxides (spinels) on the Al2O3 (TGO) layer of nano NiCrAlY/YSZ/nano Al2O3 coating is much lower compared to that of other coatings after 120 h of high temperature oxidation at 1000 °C.

文摘Abstract: In order to improve the surface hardness and wear resistance of magnesium, Al-13%Si (mass fraction) alloy coating was deposited on pure magnesium by droplet spraying process. The microstructure was studied by electron probe microanalysis and X-ray diffraction. The micro-hardness and wear resistance of coating were investigated in comparison with those of the substrate. It is found that the coating layer is composed of a-Al cellular due to rapid solidification. Formation mechanism of the coating is due to the obstruction of diffusion by in-situ formed Mg2Si in interracial layer. The coating exhibits higher hardness compared to that of the Mg substrate. As result of its high hardness, the wear resistance of the coating layer is about ten times that of the substrate. The droplet spraying process demonstrates that the magnesium surface can be strengthened by using the existing Al-Si alloys.

文摘In order to improve the wear resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance of titanium and titanium alloy, the high temperature ultra fine ceramic coating containing nano-size nickel particles was prepared by flow coat method on the surface of industrially pure titanium TB1-0. The effects of nano-size nickel particles on the wear resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance of coating substrate system were investigated through oxidation kinetics experiment and wear resistance test. The morphologies of the specimens were examined by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The results show that the high temperature ultra fine ceramic coating has notable protection effect on industrially pure titanium TB1-0 from oxidation. The oxidation and wear resistance properties of the coating can be effectively improved by adding nano-size nickel particles. The oxidative mass gain of the specimen decreases from 11.33 mg·cm-2 to 5.25 mg·cm-2 and the friction coefficient decreases from 1.1 to 0.6 by adding nano-size nickel particles, and the coating containing 10% (mass fraction) nano-size nickel shows the optimum properties.

文摘Failures due to high-cycle fatigue have led to a high cost in aerospace engineering over the past few decades.In this paper,the experimental results of the fatigue behavior of compressor blade specimen subjected to resonance and the effects of a damping hard coating on relieving the fatigue progress are presented.The crack initiation and propagation processes were observed under resonance of the first bending mode by using the resonant frequencies as the indicator.Significant nonlinear features were observed in the spectrum of the blade with a fatigue crack.The finite element model considering the breathing crack was established with nonlinear contact based on the crack localization and size,which was obtained by ultrasonic phased array technology.The simulation results of the vibration behavior of the cracked blade were obtained and consistent with the experimental results.A NiCrAlY coating was deposited on the blade,and increases in the fatigue life were observed under the same condition.The results of this paper can help to better understand the fatigue of a compressor blade subjected to resonance and provide a preference for the application of a damping hard coating on compressor blades.

文摘Twenty tests were conducted to investigate the efficiency of the intumescent coating designed to protect steel plate at the elevated temperature, by means of electrical furnace. And the factors of the initial thickness of coating and temperature of electrical furnace were considered. The high temperature response behavior of the intumescent coating was observed. And the expansion form of ultrathin intumescent coating and the temperature of the steel plate(TS) were obtained. Besides, the heat flux from expansion layer to steel plate versus time was analyzed in order to evaluate the heat transfer effect of intumescent coating on steel plate. The experimental results show that the response behaviors of the coating subjected to fire could be divided into four phases: stabilization phase, foaming expansion phase, carbonization-consumption phase and inorganic layer phase. And the net heat flux to the steel plate decreased observably in the foaming expansion phase, while the surplus white inorganic substance, which is the residue of the intumesced char layer in the inorganic layer phase under the condition of the temperature of the electrical furnace(TEF) beyond 700 °C over 1 h, has little effect on fire protection for the steel plate.
文摘Oxidation behaviors of TP304H steel with electrophoresis deposited CeO2 coating in water vapor were studied at 610℃~770℃ for 65 h. The results showed that CeO2 coating reduced effectively the oxidation rate of TP304H. Analysis with SEM and EDS showed the structure of oxide scale turned from multi-layer to mono-layer and oxide scale with high Cr content formed on the surface of CeO2 coating while inner oxidation disappeared. Based on test results and CeO2characters that Ce ion can vary between Ce4+ and Ce3+ under oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor environment, it is concluded that CeO2 coating acts as a barrier to prevent oxygen inner diffusion and the partial oxygen pressure of CeO2 coating-substrate interface is limited. Cr first diffuses outward across CeO2 coating and forms oxide scale on the surface, which delays formation of Fe oxide.

The stability of motion and dynamic response of the gas painting automizor system are studied over a relatively wide range of rotating speed by numerical analytic method, the critical velocity under working condition is found, and rotate stability and critical condition are discussed in theory. Furthermore, the range of the critical parameter of the system when Hopf bifurcation occurs and the law between axis trace and bearing clearance are acquired, too.
文摘This is an improved design based on the existing plate type solar water heaters. It aims at making full use of solar energy. To fully absorb radiation, it absorbs coating selectively by adopting the magnetron sputtering technology AL-N/AL. this design conduct heat through aluminum material which can reduce the cost meanwhile conduct heat effectively. To ensure the quality of the water at the same time improve the utilization rate of solar energy, this design use phase change for second heat exchange. Take Shanghai for example, where this design and heat transfer model are applied, the average efficiency of water heaters can achieve 68%, which has proven the feasibility of the design. In a word, this design can achieve the goal of energy conservation and emissions reduction and has broad market prospects.
