[Method] Using orthogonal decomposition method, the diet most suitable for the normal and quick growth of Erigonidium graminicolum (sundevall), was developed by adding different species and different proportions of fresh insects to the artificial diet based on the formula of total nutrient solution proposed by Zhao Jing-zhao. [Result] The most suit- able formula for the development and growth of Erigonidium graminicolum (Sundevall) is 10 ml of egg white, 2 g of honey, 2 g of sucrose, 10 ml of water, 5 g of Ci- cadella viridis, moderate amount of cornmeal, compound vitamin B1 and vitamin C1. [Conclusion] The development of new type artificial diet can provide timely and nec- essary material premise for its large-scale indoor propagation.展开更多

[Method] Based on sampling methods, investigation in sampling spots was carried out according to the important indicator, the abundance index (N0), Simpson index (λ), Shannon-Weiner index (H') and homogeneity index (E1 and E5) were used for analysis. [Results] Species diversity index of Populus shanxiensis community was not only depended on the species compositions of communities, but also closely related to the important value of species. The order of abundance index and diversity index in each layer of Populus shanxiensis community was herb layershrub layertree layer, and the abundance index was positively related to the diversity index; while the variation trend of community homogeneity index was different from that of abundance index and diversity index, and the homogeneity had shown negative correlation with the dominance. [Conclusion] In this study, the growth status and conditions of Populus shanxiensis were further understood and researched, which had laid theoretical foundation for protecting the endangered species and provided basic information for the future studies of endangered species and related disciplines.展开更多

Results showed that the efficacy of DME in controlling black shank disease depended on both DME solution concentration and its' treatment methodology. Soil application of 1.5-5% DME 72 hr before inoculation with Phtophthora parasitica vat. nicotianae provided highly significant protection against black shank, relative to the control without DME treatment. Optimized tobacco plant treatment with 2.5% DME significantly increased peroxidase (POD) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) activity levels in the upper leaf sections of the tobacco plants. DME had no direct antifungal activity on the growth of Phtophthora parasitica var. nicotianae in vitro, suggesting that disease control with DME treatment resulted from the induced propagation of natural defense mechanisms in the tobacco plants.展开更多

Fluorescent marks were detected in otoliths (sagittae, asteriscus), scales, fin rays (dorsal, pectoral, ventral, anal, and caudal fin rays), and fin spines (dorsal, ventral, and anal fin spines) after a 60-d growth experiment. With the exception of 50-100 rng/L CAL, acceptable marks were produced in the otoliths and fin spines by all concentrations of CAL and ARS. In particular, marks were clearly visible under normal light in the sagittae, asteriscus, and fin spines offish immersed in 200 500 mg/L, 300-500 rag/L, and 200-500 mg/LARS, respectively. Scales and fin rays had acceptable marks at much higher concentrations (≥50 mg/L CAL, ≥300 mg/L ARS for scales and ≥50 mg/L CAL,≥200 mg/L ARS for fin rays). The mark quality was highest (i.e., acceptable marks were observed in all sampled structures after immersion marking) in fish immersed in 150-250 mg/L CAL or 300-500 mg/LARS. In addition, there was no significant difference in survival and growth of marked fish compared with controls 60 d post-marking (P〉0.05).展开更多

The aim of this article is trace of body fade by enzymatic analysis especially blacking key enzyme tyrosinase. A single scale was collected from a single specimen of this strain at the dorsal axis, and the supernatant fi-action developed from this sample served as a tyrosinase extract. The extract fraction showed low tyrosinase activity when L-tyrosine, L-dopa and L-dopamine were used as enzyme substrates. After addition of L-cysteine to the sample scale, surface color gradually faded as pheomelanin formed. Tyrosinase was believed to have been in the folded phase and especially active arotmd the catalytic site and copper was detected in the scale. In hereafter, molecular analysis can attain above purpose.展开更多

However, PAbiosynthesis in L. ruthenicum remains unclear. In this study, leucoanthocyanidin reductase (LAR) and anthocyanidin reductases(ANR) involved in PA biosynthesis were retrieved from L. ruthenicum EST database. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) resultsconfirmed that LrLAR and LrANR encoded a protein composed of 333 and 338 amino acids, respectively. Phylogenetic analysisshowed that LrLAR and LrANR were clustered with known LAR and ANR proteins of other plants, respectively. Quantitativereverse-transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) results indicated that both genes expressed in a sharp increase manner from unripe stage tocolor break stage and were down-regulated increasingly hereafter, and that both expression levels are extremely low in youngleaves, mature leaves, stems, and roots compared with fruits. Phytochemical assay revealed that the content of total PA in fruitwas higher than that in young leaves, mature leaves, stems, and roots, and that the total PA level was increased sharply andthen relatively stable hereafter during fruit ripening. Our results lay a foundation for uncovering the PA biosynthesis and furtherengineering manipulation in L. ruthenicum.展开更多
