The workload of the 3D magnetotelluric forward modeling algorithm is so large that the traditional serial algorithm costs an extremely large compute time. However, the 3D forward modeling algorithm can process the data in the frequency domain, which is very suitable for parallel computation. With the advantage of MPI and based on an analysis of the flow of the 3D magnetotelluric serial forward algorithm, we suggest the idea of parallel computation and apply it. Three theoretical models are tested and the execution efficiency is compared in different situations. The results indicate that the parallel 3D forward modeling computation is correct and the efficiency is greatly improved. This method is suitable for large size geophysical computations. 展开更多

In this paper, we present a novel Support Vector Machine active learning algorithm for effective 3D model retrieval using the concept of relevance feedback. The proposed method learns from the most informative objects which are marked by the user, and then creates a boundary separating the relevant models from irrelevant ones. What it needs is only a small number of 3D models labelled by the user. It can grasp the user's semantic knowledge rapidly and accurately. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the retrieval effectiveness. Compared with four state-of-the-art query refinement schemes for 3D model retrieval, it provides superior retrieval performance after no more than two rounds of relevance feedback. 展开更多

3D wavefield extrapolation with optimal separable approximation

An accurate and wide-angle one-way propagator for wavefield extrapolation is an important topic for research on wave-equation prestack depth migration in the presence of large and rapid velocity variations. Based on the optimal separable approximation presented in this paper, the mixed domain algorithm with forward and inverse Fourier transforms is used to construct the 3D one-way wavefield extrapolation operator. This operator separates variables in the wavenumber and spatial domains. The phase shift operation is implemented in the wavenumber domain while the time delay for lateral velocity variation is corrected in the spatial domain. The impulse responses of the one-way wave operator show that the numeric computation is consistent with the theoretical value for each velocity, revealing that the operator constructed with the optimal separable approximation can be applied to lateral velocity variations for the case of small steps. Imaging results of the SEG/EAGE model and field data indicate that the new method can be used to image complex structure. 展开更多

In virtue of a specially designed pattern, matching points in stereo images are extracted. And then sufficient 3D space points are obtained through pairs of images with the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of each camera estimated prior and consequently some lights are calibrated by means of multi point fitting. Finally, a mathematical model is applied to interpolate and approximate all dynamic scanning lights based on geometry. The process of calibration method is successfully used in the binocular 3D measurement system based on structured lights and the 3D reconstruction results are satisfying. 展开更多

The decomposition method was successfully used in solving of 3D problems with complex geometry shape in electron optics for the FDM (Finite Difference Method) and FEM (Finite Element Method) mostly to implement fast and robust parallel algorithms and computer codes. We suggest a new version of similar approach for the BEM (Boundary Element Method) based on the alternating method by Schwartz. This approach substantially reduce the dimension of dense global matrix of algebraic system produced by BEM algorithm to solve a complex problem on as single CPU (Central Processor Unit) desktop computer. New algorithm is iterative one, but exponential convergence for the Schwatlz's algorithm creates the fast numerical procedures. We describe the results of numerical simulation for a multi electrode ion transport system. The algorithms were implemented in the computer code "POISSON-3". 展开更多

Mobile anchors are widely used for localization in WSNs.However,special properties over 3D terrains limit the implementation of them.In this paper,a novel 3D localization algorithm is proposed,called 3 DT-PP,which utilizes path planning of mobile anchors over complex 3 D terrains,and simulations based upon the model of mountain surface network are conducted.The simulation results show that the algorithm decreases the position error by about 91%,8.7%and lowers calculation overhead by about 75%,1.3%,than the typical state-of-the-art localization algorithm(i.e.,'MDS-MAP','Landscape-3D').Thus,our algorithm is more potential in practical WSNs which are the characteristic of limited energy and 3D deployment. 展开更多

To improve the sense of reality on perception, an improved algorithm of 3D shape haptic rendering is put forward based on a finger mounted vibrotactile device. The principle is that the interactive information and the shape information are conveyed to users when they touch virtual objects at mobile terminals by attaching the vibrotactile feedback on a fingertip. The extraction of shape characteristics, the interactive information and the mapping of shape in formation of vibration stimulation are key parts of the proposed algorithm to realize the real tactile rendering. The contact status of the interaction process, the height information and local gradient of the touch point are regarded as shape information and used to control the vibration intension, rhythm and distribution of the vibrators. With different contact status and shape information, the vibration pattern can be adjusted in time to imitate the outlines of virtual objects. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by shape perception experiments. The results show that the improved algorithm is effective for 3D shape haptic rendering. 展开更多

Seismic imaging quality is critical to describing reservoirs. There are many methods that can improve imaging quality; some rely on advanced processing means, whereas others rely on changing the field acquisition methods. However, most of the acquisition methods focus on improving imaging by using infill shots without considering the target-layer illumination energy. Moreover, total infill shooting greatly increases the acquisition cost. In this paper, we present a new method for maximizing the contribution to the target shadow area illumination by automatic local infill shooting. Thus, we designed 2D and 3D models and obtained the depth migration section by forward modeling, infill shots, depth migration, etc. The model results also show that by choosing the most appropriate number of shot points, we can enhance the shadow area energy and improve the target-layer imaging quality at low cost. 展开更多

A technique for modelling of three-dimensional(3D)quasi-statically propagating cracks in elastic bodies by the displacement discontinuity method(DDM)was described.When the crack is closed,the Mohr-coulomb rule on the two contacted surfaces of the crack must be satisfied.A simple iterative method was adopted in order to consider three different states of cracks.Under the assumption that the advance of the point on the crack front would occur only in the normal plane which is through this edge point,the maximum energy release rate criterion is modified to be used as the criterion for the crack growth.With discretization,the process of crack propagation can be seen as the advance of the vertices of the crack front.The program MCP3D was developed based on these theories to simulate the 3D quasi-static crack propagation.A numerical example of a penny-shaped crack subject to tension and compression in an infinite elastic media was analyzed with MCP3D,and the results in comparison with others' show that the present method for 3D crack propagation is effective. 展开更多

Coal rock is a type of dual-porosity medium,which is composed of matrix pores and fracture-cutting matrix.They play different roles in the seepage and storage capacity of coal rock.Therefore,constructing the micropore structure of coal rock is very important in the exploration and development of coalbed methane.In this study,we use a coal rock digital core and three-dimensional modeling to study the pore structure of coal rock.First,the micropore structure of coal rock is quantitatively analyzed using a two-dimensional thin-section image,and the quantitative information of the pore and fracture(cleat)structure in the coal rock is extracted.The mean value and standard deviation of the face porosity and pore radius are obtained using statistical analysis.The number of pores is determined using dichotomy and spherical random-packing methods based on compression.By combining with the results of the petrophysical analysis,the single-porosity structure model of the coal rock is obtained using a nonequal-diameter sphere to represent the pores of the coal rock.Then,an ellipsoid with an aspect ratio that is very much lesser than one is used to represent the fracture(cleat)in the coal rock,and a dual-pore structure model of the coal rock is obtained.On this basis,the relationship between the different pore aspect ratios and porosity is explored,and a fitting relationship is obtained.The results show that a nonlinear relationship exists between them.The relationship model can provide a basis for the prediction of coal rock pore structure and the pore structure parameters and provide a reference for understanding the internal structure of coalbed methane reservoirs. 展开更多

In recent few years, significant improvement has been made in developing largescale 3 D printer to accommodate the need of industrial-scale 3 D printing. Cementitious materials that are compatible with 3 D printing promote rapid application of this innovative technique in the construction field with advantages of cost effective, high efficiency, design flexibility and environmental friendly. This paper firstly reviews existing 3 D printing techniques that are currently being used in commercial3 D printers. It then summarizes three latest development of largescale 3 D printing systems and identifies their relationships and limiting factors. Thereafter, critical factors that are used to evaluate the workability and printable performance of cementitious materials are specified. Easy-extrusive, easy-flowing, well-buildable, and proper setting time are significant for cementitious material to meet the critical requirements of a freeform construction process. Finally, main advantages, potential applications and the prospects of future research of 3 D printing in construction technology are suggested. The objective of this work is to review current design methodologies and operational constraints of largescale 3 D printing system and provide references for optimizing the performance of cementitious material and promote its responsible use with largescale 3 D printing technology. 展开更多

Light-weight and high-strength materials have attracted considerable attention owing to their outstanding properties, such as weight-reducing, acoustic absorption, thermal insulation, shock and vibration damping. Diamond possesses specific stiffness and strength arising from its special crystal structure. In this work, inspired by the diamond crystal structure, hollow-tube nickel materials with the diamond structure were fabricated using a diamond structured polymer template based on the Stereo Lithography Appearance technology. The diamond structured template was coated with Ni-P by electroless plating. Finally, the template was removed by high temperature calcinations. The density of the hollow tube nickel materials is about 20 mg/cm3. The morphology and composition of the resultant materials were characterized by scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive spectrometry, and X-ray diffraction. The results showed that the surface of the Ni film was uniform with the thickness of 4 gm. The mechanical property was also measured by stress and strain tester. The maximum compression stress can be reached to 40.6 KPa. 展开更多

To meet the urgent requirement of enterprises for three-dimensional (3D) process models, an approach based on subgraph isomorphism is proposed to solve the matching problem between precursory 3D process model and 2D working procedure drawings. First, the projection drawings of the precursory 3D process model are obtained, then the primitives are extracted and the attributed adjacency graph (AAG) is constructed. Finally, by taking the 2D working procedure drawing as the AAG, and the projection drawing as the whole AAG, the matching problem between precursory 3D process model and 2D working procedure drawings is translated into the problem of subgraph isomorphism. To raise the matching efficiency, the AAG is partitioned, and the vertexes of the graph are classified effectively using the vertex’s attributes. Experimental results show that this method is able to support exact match and the matching efficiency can meet the requirement of practical applications. 展开更多

The aim of this study was to prepare pulsatile release tablets which provide different drug delayed-release time and realize personalized administration according to the needs of patients.Fused deposition modeling(FDM)3D printing technology was introduced into the field of pharmaceutics in this study,and the feasibility to prepare core-shell pulsatile release tablets was explored by combing 3D printing technology with the traditional manufacturing technology.The core of the pulsatile tablets was a commercial tablet obtained from the traditional technology,and the drug-free shell was prepared by the FDM 3D printing technology.Three kinds of tablet shells were designed using different parameters.Furthermore,the morphology,size,weight,hardness,and in vitro drug release of the 3D printed famotidine pusatile tablets were characterized and evaluated.The results showed that the 3D printed tablets appeared intact without any defects.Different parameters of outer shell affected the size,weight,hardness,and in vitro drug release of the tablets.The tablets achieved a personalized delayed release time varying from 5 to 7 h in vitro.In this way,a new method for preparing pulsatile release tablets and a new way for the personalized administration of pulsatile tablets were explored in this study. 展开更多

The experimental results showes the segmentation based on 3D brain volume and 2D CT slices. The 3D geological modeling is the prerequisite and core foundation for Digital Mine.Although this new technology brings new opportunities and motivation for the mineral exploration industry,it still has many difficulties to be solved in this area.Based on the characteristics of mine data and the aim of Digital Mine construction,this paper introduces a theory including multi-source data coupling,multi-modeling methods integration,multi-resolution visualization and detection,and multidimensional data analysis and application.By analyzing problems such as the uncertainty in each step of the modeling process,we designed a novel modeling method that can be applied to the complex geological body modeling,mineral resource/reserve estimation,and the mining exploration engineering.Along with the process of mine exploration,development,and reclamation,3D modeling undergoes the process of"construction-simulation-revision"during which the 3D model is able to be dynamically updated and gradually improved.Based on the result of practical utilization,it is proven that the methodology introduced by this paper can be used to build an effective 3D model by fully using the mining data under the control of spatial information quality evaluation.Our experiments show that such a 3D model can be used to evaluate the mine resource and provide the scientific evidence to improve mining efficiency during the various stages of evolvement process in mine. 展开更多

In the 3D lattice calculation, the l2 divergence problem is avoided by introducing a damping function, and the(l2)N term in the non-spherical case is calculated by introducing an equivalent N-independent operator. The efficiency of these numerical techniques is demonstrated by solving the spherical Nilsson Hamiltonian in 3D lattice space. The evolution of the single-particle levels in a reflection-asvmmetric ootential is obtained and discussed bv the above two numerical methods, and their consistencv is shown in the obtained single-particle energies with the differences smaller than 10-4[hω0] 展开更多
