Based on Cognitive Style Theory,Oxford’s Speaking Learning Theory and Communicative Competence Theory,this paper adopts questionnaire method,uses Sternberg’s Thinking Style Inventory modified by Zhang Lifang,as well...Based on Cognitive Style Theory,Oxford’s Speaking Learning Theory and Communicative Competence Theory,this paper adopts questionnaire method,uses Sternberg’s Thinking Style Inventory modified by Zhang Lifang,as well as Oxford’s Learning Strategies Scale,and combines with the actual situation of junior high school students’oral learning to design the questionnaire of speaking learning strategies.Eighth graders of a junior middle school in Sichuan Province are randomly selected as the research object.The statistical tool SPSS23.0 is used to conduct the descriptive analysis and Pearson correlation analysis of the questionnaire results to explore the overall situation of junior high school students’thinking styles and the use of English-speaking learning strategies as well as their correlation.According to the research,junior high school students generally tend to executive style,liberal style,conservative style,legislative style,hierarchic style.The use of speaking learning strategies is at an average level.They tend to use memory speaking strategies,social speaking strategies,affective speaking strategies,and cognitive speaking strategies.As a whole,there is a relatively significant correlation between thinking styles and speaking learning strategies.Specifically,there is a partial correlation between thinking styles and speaking learning strategies.展开更多
Cities generate more than 60%of carbon emissions and are the main battleground for achieving the target.However,there is no unified and standardized measurement methods of carbon emissions in cities.In this paper,we t...Cities generate more than 60%of carbon emissions and are the main battleground for achieving the target.However,there is no unified and standardized measurement methods of carbon emissions in cities.In this paper,we took Xi’an as an example and started by measuring carbon emissions with the new standards.Then,the decoupling of economic development from carbon emissions was studied according to the Tapio decoupling theory.Based on the generalized Divisia index method,the decoupling effort model was proposed to study the impact of carbon emission factors contributing to carbon reduction.The results show:(i)During the period 1995–2021,the carbon emissions of Xi’an increased rapidly,with an average annual growth rate of 6.06%,due to the accelerating pace of urbanization and industrialization.(ii)The energy consumption sector accounted for the largest share of carbon emissions,ranging from 77.38%to 89.46%.Xi’an’s energy structure is primarily based on fossil fuels,especially coal,which holds a significant proportion.To achieve the“double carbon”goal,it is crucial to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels.(iii)The 10th Five-Year Plan was in the state of“expansive coupling”,while other periods were in the“weak decoupling”state from the 9th to 14th Five-Year Plan periods.After the carbon peak year in the 15th Five-Year Plan,it would be in a state of“strong decoupling”.The agricultural production account was the first to achieve a“strong decoupling”state.(iv)The government of Xi’an made efforts to decouple,but these were not enough.Technological innovation played a crucial role in the carbon reduction of Xi’an,and was a key factor in achieving the“double carbon”goal.展开更多

Does enrolling children aged 0-3 in early childhood education(ECE)classes continuously empower their learning and development after entering kindergarten?Based on the tracking survey data of 664 children aged 3-6 in 2...Does enrolling children aged 0-3 in early childhood education(ECE)classes continuously empower their learning and development after entering kindergarten?Based on the tracking survey data of 664 children aged 3-6 in 2017 and 367 children aged 3-6 in 2018,this study uses Propensity Score Matching to analyze this issue.The findings reveal that children’s family socioeconomic status is a key factor influencing their participation in ECE classes.The baseline data show that participation in ECE classes does not significantly improve children’s learning and development.However,the follow-up data show that participation in ECE classes plays a significant negative role in motor development for children moving to their second year of kindergarten,but subsequently plays a positive role in language development,health,and safety for those entering their third year of kindergarten.Overall,participation in ECE classes plays no continuous positive role in children’s learning and development after they enter kindergarten.Based on these findings,it is suggested that parents should respect the natural laws of child development instead of blindly following the trend of attending ECE classes,and high-quality parental companionship is crucial.The Chinese government is supposed to implement policies such as“double reduction”to regulate ECE institutions that fail to operate in good faith.展开更多
