口译课程思政中Mock Conference的作用

近年来,课程思政受到了越来越广泛的关注。本文从学生反馈的角度入手,探讨Mock Conference在口译课程思政中发挥的作用。本文通过对学生及任课教师的访谈,发现Mock Conference能够促进学生在语言能力、习惯态度、心理素质、职业素养、价值观塑造与意识培养等方面的提升,对于思政培养有积极作用。本研究为口译课堂中的思政建设提供了一定的借鉴,也为口译课程思政的实现提供了更多思路。

Shaping global health promotion:a comprehensive analysis of the 10 Global Conferences on Health Promotion Conferences(1986-2021)

Objective This study analyzed how the 10 Global Conferences on Health Promotion have played a significant role in shaping and promoting a worldwide consensus and actions on health promotion,effectively addressing diverse health challenges that evolved over different periods.Methods The textual analysis method was used in this study and text encoding was conducted to systematically examine the declarations and reports presented by the 10 Global Conferences on Health Promotion held during 1986-2021.We summarized the themes and key achievements,and key vocabulary in the conference declarations was extracted and analyzed to construct the global health promotion consensus and actions.Results The fundamental principles of the conferences are to foster consensus and initiate actions in the realm of health promotion on a global scale.The primary purpose and goal are to promote health from regional to global.Significantly,our findings highlight a transition in the primary actors driving health promotion.It underscores a shift in health promotion from being driven primarily by organizations like the World Health Organization,governments,and international bodies,to a more inclusive approach involving non-governmental organizations and the general public.This development implies that health promotion has evolved into a collective global endeavor,demanding the proactive involvement of various stakeholders,and forging new alliances in public health.Meanwhile,the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has further shaped the landscape of health promotion,underscoring the need for intensified focus on areas including disease prevention,health education,and the integration of digital health technologies,and emphasizing the importance of a multidimensional,responsive approach in public health initiatives.Conclusions Sustained collaboration and innovative strategies are pivotal to advancing health promotion globally.Countries,together with public and private entities,should intensify cooperation.Multisectoral collaboration among partners such as healthcare,education,social security,and the industry is vital for health promotion and achieving global health goals.

Simultaneous Interpreting Output Assessment of Earnings Conference Call: Case Analysis of Tencent 2022 Q3 Result Announcement

Quality in simultaneous interpreting is a frequently discussed concept. In the enterprise setting, earnings conference call remains a rarely explored field. This thesis offers a descriptive study on assessing interpreting quality from perspectives of fidelity, fluency, and appropriacy. As the corpus, Tencent 2022 Third Quarter Result Announcement provides an ideal transcript to the author to conduct its analysis. Interpreting is frequently done without bearing in mind the multitude of factors that can affect the quality of interpreting. Drawing a conclusion that the interpreter does make a lot of omissions, pauses and hesitations posing a negative effect on the fidelity, fluency and accuracy of the interpreting, the present author suggests that more preparation should be done for improving performance, such as terminologies, company background information, a reasonable speech rate, good image and acoustic quality, and so on.

Video Conference System in Mixed Reality Using a Hololens

The mixed reality conference system proposed in this paper is a robust,real-time video conference application software that makes up for the simple interaction and lack of immersion and realism of traditional video conference,which realizes the entire process of holographic video conference from client to cloud to the client.This paper mainly focuses on designing and implementing a video conference system based on AI segmentation technology and mixed reality.Several mixed reality conference system components are discussed,including data collection,data transmission,processing,and mixed reality presentation.The data layer is mainly used for data collection,integration,and video and audio codecs.The network layer uses Web-RTC to realize peer-to-peer data communication.The data processing layer is the core part of the system,mainly for human video matting and human-computer interaction,which is the key to realizing mixed reality conferences and improving the interactive experience.The presentation layer explicitly includes the login interface of the mixed reality conference system,the presentation of real-time matting of human subjects,and the presentation objects.With the mixed reality conference system,conference participants in different places can see each other in real-time in their mixed reality scene and share presentation content and 3D models based on mixed reality technology to have a more interactive and immersive experience.

Summary of the 10th Conference on Magnetically Confined Fusion Theory and Simulation(CMCFTS)

This paper gives a summary of the organization and the presentations delivered at the 10th Conference on Magnetically Confined Fusion Theory and Simulation(CMCFTS)held in Zhuhai,China,from 28th to 31st October 2022.The conference focused on the latest progress in the research of the magnetic confined fusion plasma theory and simulations,as well as the largescale numerical simulation techniques developed in recent years.This conference is held both online and offline,with about 110 domestic participants from 18 institutes participating in the live conference,and the statistical data from the live broadcast platform indicated that the online conference attracted over 20000 views per day.A summary of the conference is given,and the history of the CMCFTS is presented.A brief introduction to the poster section is also included in this paper.

Differences between journal and conference in computer science:a bibliometric view based on Bayesian network

Purpose:This paper aims to investigate the differences between conference papers and journal papers in the field of computer science based on Bayesian network.Design/methodology/approach:This paper investigated the differences between conference papers and journal papers in the field of computer science based on Bayesian network,a knowledge-representative framework that can model relationships among all variables in the network.We defined the variables required for Bayesian networks modeling,calculated the values of each variable based Aminer dataset(a literature data set in the field of computer science),learned the Bayesian network and derived some findings based on network inference.Findings:The study found that conferences are more attractive to senior scholars,the academic impact of conference papers is slightly higher than journal papers,and it is uncertain whether conference papers are more innovative than journal papers.Research limitations:The study was limited to the field of computer science and employed Aminer dataset as the sample.Further studies involving more diverse datasets and different fields could provide a more complete picture of the matter.Practical implications:By demonstrating that Bayesian networks can effectively analyze issues in Scientometrics,the study offers valuable insights that may enhance researchers’understanding of the differences between journal and conference in computer science.Originality/value:Academic conferences play a crucial role in facilitating scholarly exchange and knowledge dissemination within the field of computer science.Several studies have been conducted to examine the distinctions between conference papers and journal papers in terms of various factors,such as authors,citations,h-index and others.Those studies were carried out from different(independent)perspectives,lacking a systematic examination of the connections and interactions between multiple perspectives.This paper supplements this deficiency based on Bayesian network modeling.

基于正交设计的西洋梨‘Conference’愈伤组织诱导研究

以西洋梨‘Conference’为材料诱导愈伤组织,采用L9(34)正交设计法,探讨各因子对‘Conference’梨愈伤组织诱导效果的影响。结果表明,各因素对愈伤组织诱导率的影响表现为TDZ浓度>外植体类型>IBA浓度,TDZ、IBA浓度对试验结果的影响呈显著水平(P<0.05),不同水平间也差异显著。最优组合为A1B3C3,即以茎段为外植体,培养基和植物生长调节剂组合为MS+2.0 mg/L TDZ+0.5 mg/L IBA中暗培养35 d,诱导率可达100%。

China's response to climate change issues after Paris Climate Change Conference

The Paris Climate Change Conference was successfully concluded with the Paris Agreement, which is a milestone for the world in collectively combating climate change. By participating in IPCC assessments and conducting national climate change assessments, China has been increasing its understanding of the issue. For the first time, China's top leader attended the Conference of the Parties, which indicates the acknowledgement of the rationality and necessity of climate change response by China at different levels. Moreover, this participation reflects China's commitment to including climate change in its ecology improvement program and pursuing a low-carbon society and economy. In order to ensure the success of the Paris Conference, China has contributed significantly. China's constructive participation in global governance shows that China is a responsible power. These principles such as the creation of a future of winewin cooperation with each country contributing to the best of its ability; a future of the rule of law, fairness, and justice; and a future of inclusiveness, mutual learning, and common development will serve as China's guidelines in its efforts to facilitate the implementation of the Paris Agreement and participate in the design of international systems.

Multiparty quantum secret conference based on quantum encryption with pure entangled states

We present a scheme for multiparty quantum remote secret conference （MQRSC） with pure entangled states, not maximally entangled multipartite quantum systems. The conferees first share a private quantum key, a sequence of pure entangled states and then use them to encode and decode the secret messages. The conferees exploit the decoy-photon technique to ensure the security of the transmission of qubits. This MQRSC scheme is more feasible and efficient than others.

The 7^(th) National Gastric Cancer Academic Conference:focus on translational research in gastric cancer

Introduction Gastric cancer is a heterogeneous disease with large variations across geographical regions （1）. Although the global incidence of gastric cancer is declining, it remains highly prevalent in Asia as compared to the West （2,3）. China is one of the countries with the highest incidence of gastric cancer, and accounts for over 40% of all new gastric cancer cases in the world （4,5）. Gastric cancer is the third leading cause of cancer mortality in China （6,7）. The 7th National Gastric Cancer Academic Conference （NGCAC） was held in Beijing from June 22 to June 24 with approximately 1,200 attendees, which was organized by Gastric Cancer Committee, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association （CACA） （Figure I）. The theme of this conference was specification, integration, and transformation. Dr. Jiafu Ji, MD, FACS, the chairman of the conference, the president of Gastric Cancer Committee, CACA, pointed out that the conference was aimed at standardizing the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer, integrating the information platform, and transferring current research achievements （Figure 1）. It has been about thirteen years since last National gastric cancer academic conference, which was held in Nanjing in 1999. In this conference, nine pioneer experts （Drs Yan-Zhen Lin, Ji-Fu Wang, Guang-Wei Xu, Jun-Qing Chen, Wen-Fan Zhang, Yin-Chang Zhang, Mao-Lin Jin, Xiang-Fu Zhang, and Xi-Shan Hao） were awarded Lifetime Achievement Award by Gastric Cancer Committee, CACA. There were ten sessions and more than two hundred papers or abstracts submitted, the proceeding was published in Translational Gastrointestinal Cancer Vol 1, supplement 1, June 2 012.

A Transitivity Perspective to the Ideology under English News Reports——Copenhagen Climate Conference

Transitivity system is the core part of systemic-functional grammar,which aims to expose the relationship between language and ideology.This thesis uses comparative methods to analyze the news discourses of the Copenhagen Conference.The study notices that the coverage of news discourses in The New York Times is not as neutral as that in China Daily.Based on the theory of transitivity,on the one hand,it proves the applicability of transitivity to news discourse analysis.On the other hand,the present study tries to provide readers with a different perspective of understanding language and a critical reading method,which helps to raise readers' awareness of ideology.

国际交流的发展,使英文报刊中conference,symposium,seminar一类会议名词与日俱增。查询国内出版的诸大部头词典却译名各异。以conference一词为例,译成“讨论会”、“会议”、“正式会议”、“协商会议”的都有。就普通语文词典来说,同一名词有几个普通译名,是自然的,可取的。然而,从术语学和科技翻译要求译名统一和标准化角度来讲,就值得考虑了。因为不统一的译名出现在一本文件或论著中,便会使人莫衷一是;如若将其存储于计算机。

Biodiversity Conservation and the Poor: Practical Issues beyond Global Conferences

The paper focuses on biodiversity—an issue that easily?gets left out of consideration because it is hard to measure. While efforts to reduce over-fishing or conservation of water resources are relatively easy to discuss in quantitative terms, biodiversity in terms of plant species is usually covered by crude and even invalid figures. The paper begins by providing a brief historical overview of attempts to define biodiversity, going back to the early efforts in Africa to deal with conservation and showing how definitions have evolved overtime and how they have shaped conservation efforts. While the main focus of the paper is biodiversity conservation and the poor, the paper makes references to the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and other important global conferences including the World Conference on Environment and Development and Convention on Biological Diversity. The paper finds that international conferences by and large do not adequately address the issue of biodiversity and the poor. The limited commitment shown by political leaders at the conferences should be a reason for global and local authorities to create an environment that enables communities to meet their daily needs, foster development and conserve biodiversity.

The 1st International Conference on Data-driven Knowledge Discovery： When Data Science Meets Information Science took place at the National Science Library （NSL）, Chinese Academy of Sciences （CAS） in Beijing from June 19 till June 22, 2016. The Conference was opened by NSL Director Xiangyang Huang, who placed the event within the goals of the Library, and lauded the spirit of intemational collaboration in the area of data science and knowledge discovery. The whole event was an encouraging success with over 370 registered participants and highly enlightening presentations. The Conference was organized by the Journal of Data andlnformation Science （JDIS） to bring the Joumal to the attention of an international and local audience.

Ibsen’s Plays in China And Their Ethical Value:A Speech at the Closing Ceremony of the Third International Ibsen Conference in China

This is a speech delivered at the closing ceremony of The Third International Ibsen Conference in China, which introduces some people and their studies on Ibsen in China, and takes A Doll’s House as an example for an ethical analysis. The speech chooses Professor Wang Zhongxiang, Professor Kwok-kan Tam, Professor Knut Brynhildsvoll and others for an evaluation of their studies as the evidence of achievements in the Ibsen studies in the New Period in China. The speech, from the perspective of ethical literary criticism, also analyses A Doll’s House as a moral play to raise moral questions and concludes that Ibsen’s so-called social problem plays are ethical problem ones.
