This paper presents a new deep-reading logging-while-drilling electromagnetic(EM)logging method to detect bed boundaries ahead of bit.Unlike all existing EM logging approaches,the new method is based on the scattered ...This paper presents a new deep-reading logging-while-drilling electromagnetic(EM)logging method to detect bed boundaries ahead of bit.Unlike all existing EM logging approaches,the new method is based on the scattered electric field radiated by a magnetic dipole antenna.By analyzing the characteristics of electric tensor responses in layered formations,optimal look-ahead electric component is selected.The selected scattered field contributes to a large portion of the total field and is strongly sensitive to the boundary position.The measured voltage from the scattered electric component can be tens of times larger than that from the scattered magnetic fields and it attenuates slower.Thus,the detection capability improves significantly.A coaxial open-loop half-circle antenna is then proposed to measure the electric field in logging while drilling environment.A practical tool implementation equipped with two tilted close-loop antennas and two open-loop antennas is further developed for look-ahead application.Numerical results demonstrate that the detection depth of the new look-ahead tool can be up to 40 m under favorable conditions.Compared with current look-ahead logging tools,the new method not only significantly shortens the tool size,but also can recognize the boundary position and azimuth.展开更多

After done this, xu is not the coordinate system of flat space-time anymore, but is the coordinate system of the new Riemannian space-time. The inverse operation also can be done. According to these notions, the concepts of the absorption operation and the desorption operation are proposed. These notions are actually compatible with Einstein’s equivalence principle. By using these concepts, the relationships of the Riemannian space-time, the de Donder conditions and the gravitational field in flat space-time are analyzed and elaborated. The essential significance of the de Donder conditions (the harmonic conditions or gauge) is to desorb the tensor field of gravitation from the Riemannian space-time to the Minkowski space-time with the Cartesian coordinates. Einstein equations with de Donder conditions can be solved in flat space-time. Base on Fock’s works, the equations of gravitational field in flat space-time are obtained, and the tensor expression of the energy-momentum of gravitational field is found. An experimental determination of this value has been proposed. If it is zero, the metric is Minkowski’s. If it is non-zero, the metric is not Poincare invariant and local frequencies of electromagnetic waves change as they propagate. If the group parameter is positive, velocity-independent red-shifts develop and the group parameter play a role similar to that of Hubble’s constant in determining the relation of these red-shifts to propagation distance. In the resulting space-times, the velocity-dependence of red shifts is a function of propagation distance. If 2c times the group parameter and Hubble’s constant have approximately the same value, observed frequency shifts in radiation received from stellar sources can imply source velocities quite different from those implied in Minkowski space. Electromagnetic waves received from bodies in galactic Kepler orbits undergo frequency shifts which are indistinguishable from shifts currently attributed to dark matter and dark energy in Minkowski space, or to a non-Newtonian physics.展开更多
