Changing the length of a chirp grating with piezotranslator(PZT), the variable delay is obtained. The scheme is applied to X-band phased array radar whose searching data rate is 56/s. It is simulated that the beam squinting is influenced by the error of real time delay. The relation between the beamforming mode and its modifying volt is discussed.展开更多

Quaternary CrA1CxN1-x coatings were deposited on Si wafers by a hybrid coating system combining an arc-ion plating technique and a DC reactive magnetron sputtering technique using Cr and AI targets in the Ar/N2/CH4 gaseous mixture. The effect of carbon content on microstructure of CrA1C^N~ x coatings was investigated with instrumental analyses of X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The results show that the carbon content of CrA1CxN1-x coatings linearly increases with increasing CH4/(CH4/N2) gas flow rate ratio. The surface roughness of the CrA1CxN1-x coating layer decreases with the increase of carbon content.展开更多

PB is made up of modular domains including six bromodomains that are known as acetyl-lysine binding domains. However, histone-binding specificity of the bromodomains of PB has remained elusive. In this study, we report biochemical characterization of all six PB bromodomains' binding to a suite of lysine-acetylated peptides derived from known acetylation sites on human core histones. We demonstrate that bromodomain 2 of PB preferentially recognizes acetylated lysine 14 of histone H3 (H3K14ac), a post-translational mark known for gene transcriptional activation. We further describe the molecular basis of the selective H3K14ac recognition of bromodomain 2 by solving the protein structures in both the free and bound forms using X-ray crystallography and NMR, respectively.展开更多

Values of magnetic susceptibility in this core drop sharply down-core from -3.85 m deep below sediment/water interface and are very low at -5.35 m. However, both XRD and grain-size distribution results show no sudden change in terrigenous input during sedimentation. Mineral magnetic results indicate that the depth of -3.85 m may be an oxic/anoxic boundary. Therefore, the sediments below -3.85 m have been subjected to intense reductive diagenesis, whereas the sediments above -3.85 m are seldom affected. The magnetic properties of the sediments shallower than 3.85 m are dominated by pseudo-single domain (PSD) magnetite, with little down-core variation in its content and grain size. Below -3.85 m, the magnetic mineral assemblages that have survived in the sediments may record different stages of the reductive diagenesis: (1) the sediments from the 3.85-5.35 m interval are at the stage of iron oxide reduction; t'SD magnetite is the major magnetic contributor, but it becomes less abundant and coarser down-core; (2) the sediments below -5.35 m are at the stage of sulphate reduction; ferrimagnetie minerals almost vanish and paramagnetic minerals contribute to down-core susceptibility variations, including pyrite as evidenced by high-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. However, the susceptibility variations below -5.35 m of Core MD98-2172 show obvious periodicity, despite the intense effect of reduetive diagenesis. Furthermore, the down-core susceptibility variations are coincident with fluctuations in the quantity of fine detrital particles (〈8 μm), which may come mainly from the advection of the Indonesia Throughflow (ITF) and/or river input from Timor. Therefore, for Core MD98-2172, susceptibility variation below -5.35 m, which potentially correspond to fluctuations in the quantity of fine particles, may record the histories of the development of the ITF and precipitation on Timor.展开更多

This causes a reduction in the amorphous silica content of residual RHA, which distinguishes them from the RHA produced according to controlled burning process, which is totally amorphous and considered a highly reactive pozzolan. In this paper, the hydration products and the porous structure of binders paste were studied by replacing, in weight of 5%, 10% and 20% of Portland cement OPC (ordinary Portland cement), by residual RHAs named A and B, which have high and low content of amorphous silica, respectively, using microstructure evaluation techniques as XRD (X-ray diffraction), TG (thermogravimetric) tests and MIP (mercury intrusion porosimetry). A reducing the size of the pores of the pastes was observed according to the increase of content replacement of RHA A and RHA B.展开更多

Either the shape or the size of the nanocrystals could be easily controlled. Both the phases and nanostructures have been characterized by powder X-ray diffraction patterns and electron microscopy. The magnetic and catalytic properties of these products were investigated and compared with each other. The obtained results clearly demonstrate that these iron oxide nanocrystals are soft ferromagnetic at room temperature and α-Fe2O3 has a more effective catalytic property on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate than Fe3O4. Based on the experimental data, it is proposed that the magnetic and catalytic properties of these nanocrystals are dependent not only on the size and shape, but also on the surface structure of the nanocrystals. The nanoplates with significant anisotropic nanostructure demonstrate a highly enhanced performance as compared to nanoparticles.展开更多

The as-prepared CuInS2 nanocrystals have been characterized by instrumental analyses such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM)/high-resolution TEM (HRTEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), UV-vis absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The particle sizes of the CuInS2 nanocrystals could be tuned from 2 to 10 nm by simply varying reaction conditions. Oleylamine, which acted as both a reductant and an effective capping agent, plays an important role in the size-controlled synthesis of CulnS2 nanocrystals. Based on a series of comparative experiments under different reaction conditions, the probable formation mechanism of CulnS2 nanocrystals has been proposed. Furthermore, the UV-vis absorption and PL emission spectra of the chalcopyrite CulnS2 nanocrystals have been found to be adjustable in the range of 527-815 nm and 625-800 rim, respectively, indicating their potential application in photovoltaic devices.展开更多
