However, at present islanders, there have been faced with the decline of industries, serious concerns of rapid aging and very low birthrate without children and water scarcity issues etc. It can be said that these situations are under the environment which shows a microcosm of Japanese and/or world survival society in the near future. In this paper, the experimental data on the reduction of the mixed water (seawater & rainwater) salinity by the sound wave when changing the volume ratio were first shown, taking into the characteristics of the Isolated Islands. Next, the main analysis result on the water qualities of mixed water with which sound wave was irradiated was shown and the consideration mainly based on the WHO drinking water quality standards was carried out. Finally, through a simple water quality improvement apparatus using small hydroelectric power, a consideration regarding a possibility of the purification of the water (to be a drinking water) based on the solar circulation energy (regenerative type’s natural energy) such as small hydropower utilization, natural sunlight utilization, natural gravity utilization, natural oscillation utilization has been described in the paper.展开更多
For circumstances of medium-embedding depth and medium-hard surroundings in Jining No.2 Colliery, Yanzhou Group, by using software RFPA2D to simulate the process of overburden fracture, studied the overburden separati...For circumstances of medium-embedding depth and medium-hard surroundings in Jining No.2 Colliery, Yanzhou Group, by using software RFPA2D to simulate the process of overburden fracture, studied the overburden separation which was caused by working face exploitation, its fracture characteristics and the isolated island coalface(IIC) formation systematically in comparison method. After the recovery of the IIC, the surrounding separation areas which lied above the working face and bilateral goaved respectively form a connected region, a region that is like a saddle with low middle (35 times) and high sides. The top boundary line of the separation area is an arc. Then the fracture rise rapidly to 28 times of working thickness; while it is smaller (only 8-17 times recovery height) when extracting bilaterally, though the fracture plane both are in shape of an unsymmetrical trapezium. As the recovery of IIC makes side recoveries change from insufficiency to sufficiency, the consequentially rapid change of characteristics of overburden separation and fracture would enhance the representation degree of mining pressure of IIC.展开更多

Two populations of Dacrydium pierrei were used as comparison materials. Both Podocarpus imbricatus and Dacrydium pierrei showed a low level of genetic diversity. However, Podocarpus imbricatus showed higher genetic diversity and higher population differentiation than Dacrydium pierrei. The geographic range may affect the genetic diversity of Podocarpus imbricatus and Dacrydium pierrei significantly. The UPGMA cluster tree showed that populations of Podocarpus imbricatus in Hainan Island and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were closer than those in Yunnan Province, indicating possible gene flow between Hainan Island and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The young geological history of Hainan Island and the three times of unification and separation between Hainan Island and the Mainland may give the two species more possibilities of gene flow.展开更多
Acid production with flue gas is a complex nonlinear process with multiple variables and strong coupling.The operation data is an important basis for state monitoring,optimal control,and fault diagnosis.However,the op...Acid production with flue gas is a complex nonlinear process with multiple variables and strong coupling.The operation data is an important basis for state monitoring,optimal control,and fault diagnosis.However,the operating environment of acid production with flue gas is complex and there is much equipment.The data obtained by the detection equipment is seriously polluted and prone to abnormal phenomena such as data loss and outliers.Therefore,to solve the problem of abnormal data in the process of acid production with flue gas,a data cleaning method based on improved random forest is proposed.Firstly,an outlier data recognition model based on isolation forest is designed to identify and eliminate the outliers in the dataset.Secondly,an improved random forest regression model is established.Genetic algorithm is used to optimize the hyperparameters of the random forest regression model.Then the optimal parameter combination is found in the search space and the trend of data is predicted.Finally,the improved random forest data cleaning method is used to compensate for the missing data after eliminating abnormal data and the data cleaning is realized.Results show that the proposed method can accurately eliminate and compensate for the abnormal data in the process of acid production with flue gas.The method improves the accuracy of compensation for missing data.With the data after cleaning,a more accurate model can be established,which is significant to the subsequent temperature control.The conversion rate of SO_(2) can be further improved,thereby improving the yield of sulfuric acid and economic benefits.展开更多
Wind measurements derived from QuikSCAT data were compared with those measured by anemometer on Yongxing Island in the South China Sea (SCS) for the period from April 2008 to November 2009. The comparison confirms tha...Wind measurements derived from QuikSCAT data were compared with those measured by anemometer on Yongxing Island in the South China Sea (SCS) for the period from April 2008 to November 2009. The comparison confirms that QuikSCAT estimates of wind speed and direction are generally accurate, except for the extremes of high wind speeds (>13.8m/s) and very low wind speeds (<1.5m/s) where direction is poorly predicted. In-situ observations show that the summer monsoon in the northern SCS starts between May 6 and June 1. From March 13, 2010 to August 31, 2010, comparisons of sea surface temperature (SST) and rainfall from AMSR-E with data from a buoy located at Xisha Islands, as well as wind measurements derived from ASCAT and observations from an automatic weather station show that QuikSCAT, ASCAT and AMSR-E data are good enough for research. It is feasible to optimize the usage of remote-sensing data if validated with in-situ measurements. Remarkable changes were observed in wind, barometric pressure, humidity, outgoing longwave radiation (OLR), air temperature, rainfall and SST during the monsoon onset. The eastward shift of western Pacific subtropical high and the southward movement of continental cold front preceded the monsoon onset in SCS. The starting dates of SCS summer monsoon indicated that the southwest monsoon starts in the Indochinese Peninsula and forms an eastward zonal belt, and then the belt bifurcates in the SCS, with one part moving northeastward into the tropical western North Pacific, and another southward into western Kalimantan. This largely determined the pattern of the SCS summer monsoon. Wavelet analysis of zonal wind and OLR at Xisha showed that intra-seasonal variability played an important role in the summer. This work improves the accuracy of the amplitude of intra-seasonal and synoptic variation obtained from remote-sensed data.展开更多

In this study we focused on the urban development of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Prov...With the ongoing development of economy and urbanization in China, the change of land use types has attracted more and more attention. In this study we focused on the urban development of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, analyzing Landsat 5 TM and Landsat 8 OLI data. We used an SVM based classification, a land transfer matrix approach, a directional growth analysis method and we calculated the inversion of land surface temperature to derive information of land cover changes that occurred in the time period between 1987 and 2017. The results are combined with Shenzhen’s economy, transportation policy and other aspects to find the driving forces of the urban development. The results show that during the observed 30 years, the area of construction land has increased significantly. Most of it is converted from other lands, and some of them are reclaimed. Most rapidly developing are areas west and northwest of the Bao’an, Nanshan and Longhua. The vegetated areas decreased slightly. Caused by the continuous increase of the construction land, the so-called heat island effect emerges slightly but continuously.展开更多

In the evolving situation of highly infectious coronavirus,the number of confirmed cases in India has largely increased,which has resulted in a shortage of health care resources.Thus,the Ministry of Health and Family ...In the evolving situation of highly infectious coronavirus,the number of confirmed cases in India has largely increased,which has resulted in a shortage of health care resources.Thus,the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare-Government of India issued guidelines for the‘Home isolation of COVID-19 positive patients’methodology for asymptomatic patients or with mild symptoms.During home isolation,the patients are required to monitor and record the pulse rate,body temperature,and oxygen saturation three times a day.This paper proposes a system that can request data from the required sensor to measure the pulse rate,body temperature,or oxygen saturation.The requested data is sensed by the respective sensor placed near the patients’body and sent to the CAN data logger over the CAN bus.The CAN data logger live streams the sensor values and stores the same to an excel sheet along with details like the patient’s name,patient’s age,and date.The physicians can then access this information.展开更多

The sampled data system is firstly discretized to obtain a discrete time model. Then a descriptor system is constructed to describe the discretized system with sensor faults. Based on the descriptor system representation a bank of observers are designed to isolate and estimate the sensor faults. These observers can be synthesized by the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique and sufficient conditions for the existence of these observers are derived. Finally the effectiveness is ascertained by an aircraft simulation example which is in the proposed method.展开更多
