Bukhansan National Park is Korea's most heavily visited national park with annual visitation of six million visitors in 2015. Data used in this article were collected on-site in the park in 2007 and 2013 by the Korea National Park Service(KNPS).The study variables included socio-demographics,travel behavior, motivation, and satisfaction with park attributes, services and facilities. Data were analyzed by each study year for first-time and repeat visitors. Results showed significant differences for both firsttime and repeat visitors on several socio-demographic,travel behavior, and motivation variables within each study year. For satisfaction with park attributes, facilities and services, first-time visitors were significantly different from repeat visitors on seven variables for both years. Implications are given regarding programs and services to improve visitor satisfaction and sustain the natural, cultural and historical resources at Bukhansan National Park and other national parks in Korea. Future research suggestions are provided to learn more about visitor characteristics, standards of quality and preferences in the national parks.展开更多

We also perform multi fold robot session labeling to improve the performance of learner. We conduct a comparative study for various ensemble methods (Bagging, Boosting, and Voting) with simple classifiers in perspective of classification. We also evaluate the effectiveness of these classifiers (both ensemble and simple) on five different data sets of varying session length. Presently the results of web server log analyzers are not very much reliable because the input log files are highly inflated by sessions of automated web traverse software’s, known as web robots. Presence of web robots access traffic entries in web server log repositories imposes a great challenge to extract any actionable and usable knowledge about browsing behavior of actual visitors. So web robots sessions need accurate and fast detection from web server log repositories to extract knowledge about genuine visitors and to produce correct results of log analyzers.展开更多

The purpose of this study is to determine, from the perspective of culturally sensitive nursing support, the cultural practices that foreigners consider important when they visit a Japanese hospital for check-ups or hospitalization. Methods: A survey was completed by 110 foreign participants at a shrine in Kyoto City. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate the concerns of foreign visitors regarding Japanese medical providers, caused by cultural differences such as customs of daily life. The statistical analyses were performed using descriptive statistics as well as cross-tabulation, chi-square, and Fisher’s exact tests. Results: After grouping participants by continent, the top concerns observed in all groups about visiting a Japanese hospital were accessibility to and cost of medical care. First, as for medical facilities, participants from North and South America (North and South American) and Europe (Europeans) were significantly more concerned than those in Asia (Asians) (P P P P P Conclusion: Nurses need opportunities to learn and understand differences in cultures. If nurses have opportunities to learn cultural differences as well as to experience caring for foreign patients, their competencies in culturally sensitive nursing support will improve over time. It can be said that this is an issue not only in Japan but also in all other countries.展开更多

Soil was sampled twice yearly in wet and dry seasons. In each season soil was sampled from areas exposed to differing levels of visitors’ pressure (VP), and designated “no VP (Control)”, “High VP” and “Low VP”. The soil samples were taken from two depths. For each soil sample, moisture, organic matter and soluble-ion contents, pH, and electrical conductivity were determined. It was found that different properties were differently affected by VP, seasonal dynamics and soil depth: organic matter content, penetration depth and sodium concentration were the most sensitive to VP;Soil moisture did not respond to VP, but sharply reflected seasonal changes;Calcium and organic matter contents were significantly affected by the soil depth. The sensitivity of soil properties to VP increased from March to July, and the upper soil layer was more sensitive to seasonal dynamics and VP than the deeper layer. Some soil properties exhibited “spotty” patterns;others a “frontal” one. Organic matter content was completely controlled by VP at both depths and in both seasons, and could be used as an indicator of soil status in recreation areas. Visitors’ activities included trampling and other anthropogenic factors that enhanced the spatial changes and seasonal dynamics of soil properties. Based on these measurements the intensity of soil degradation and dynamics was evaluated and used to describe the soil status in an urban park.展开更多

To reach this goal, a survey was conducted by interview with 220 visitors randomly selected among those who realized a full tour of the Zoo. Respondents were predominantly (59.1%) men and 59.1% were aged between 21 and 40 years. A large part (48.2%) had a high school level. Nearly 31% (30.9%) have animals and 64.6% love animals. More than half (60%) believe that the animals are in a situation of well being and 24.1% believe that elephant, lions and monkeys are lean. On the hygiene of habitat, 49.5% of visitors think that the pen of chimpanzees is the least clean. More three quarters (79.1%) believe that the animals are well fed, 89.1% that they are safe and 29.9% believe that animals are sad. Finally, visitors have various opinions but many believe that the welfare of lions, elephant, chimpanzees and patas monkeys must be improved.展开更多

The study follows, in particular, a previous study conducted by Mariani and Mussini (2013) based on Fondazione di Venezia data, with a view to better contextualization level. Previous studies have examined the role of museums in enhancing the image of a destination and in attracting and conveying additional tourists' fluxes, arguing that although not all museums are a destination of choice for visitors, a great museum or a strong exhibition program still does represent a national and international attraction. This paper overturns this argument investigating whereas an appealing location (such as a tourist destination) can influence prospective visitors about the level of attractiveness of a pay cultural event taking place therein. A questionnaire was developed and data were collected at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice, Italy, in 2007, during the art exhibition "Venezia e l'Islam 829-1797", via 501 face-to-face visitors interviews. The research model analyzes data through the conjoint analysis and the descriptive statistics. Results show that the exhibition location has been a relevant factor in influencing the visitors' decision process linked to the attendance of the event. Data show that, for the majority of visitors, the exhibition had been located elsewhere, they would not have visited it. Thus, an appealing location or a structured tourist destination may function as an attractive platform that may contribute to enforce the overall visitor's satisfaction with regard to his or her attendance to a cultural event. Furthermore, such a fact depends on specific objective variables (e.g., level of education, age), although no significant differences were reported between segments based on other socio-demographic characteristics such as sex. To conclude, arts and cultural managers should market and position cultural events in locations that can function as attractive, thus as emotionally driven experience consumption sites. Furthermore, they should consider both the cognitive and the emotional aspects of visitor's experience when designing and planning their events, as well as when assessing visitor's satisfaction. Cognitive and emotional aspects should be considered simultaneously when measuring visitors' satisfaction. In shaping visitors' satisfaction, emotions, such as the pleasure to be in a particular location, are more significant than cognitive aspects, such as the theme of the exhibition.展开更多
