The results showed that the interface between the solid Fe and Al formed by heat-treatment consisted of Fe2Al5 and FeAl3 intermetallic compound layers, which deteriorated the interfacial bonding strength. Fractures occurred in the intermetallic compound layer during the shear testing. The location of the fracture depended on the defects of microcracks or voids in the intermetallic compound layers. The microcracks in the intermetallic compound layer were caused by the mismatch of thermal expansion coefficients of materials during cooling, and the voids were consistent with the Kirkendall effect. The work will lay an important foundation for welding and joining of aluminum and steel, especially for fabrication of Al-Fe clad materials.展开更多

The La0.8Mg0.2Ni3.3Co0.2Six (x=0-0.2) electrode alloys were prepared by casting and annealing. The effects of adding Si on the structure and electrochemical hydrogen storage characteristics of the alloys were investigated systematically. The results indicate that the as-cast and annealed alloys hold multiple structures, involving two major phases of (La, Mg)2Ni7 with a Ce2Ni7-type hexagonal structure and LaNi5 with a CaCu5-type hexagonal structure as well as one residual phase LaNi3. The addition of Si results in a decrease in (La, Mg)2Ni7 phase and an increase in LaNi5 phase without changing the phase structure of the alloys. What is more, it brings on an obvious effect on electrochemical hydrogen storage characteristics of the alloys. The discharge capacities of the as-cast and annealed alloys decline with the increase of Si content, but their cycle stabilities clearly grow under the same condition. Furthermore, the measurements of the high rate discharge ability, the limiting current density, hydrogen diffusion coefficient as well as electrochemical impedance spectra all indicate that the electrochemical kinetic properties of the electrode alloys first increase and then decrease with the rising of Si content.展开更多

The results show that the depth of recrystallized layers increases with the increase of annealing temperature. Below 1200 °C, the recrystallization depth climbs slowly with temperature rising. Above 1200 °C, the recrystallization depth increases sharply with the rise of temperature. The morphology of recrystallized grains is significantly affected by annealing temperature. Below the γ′ solvus, cellular recrystallization may be observed. Above the γ′ solvus, recrystallization occurs through the growth of well developed recrystallized grains. In addition, the microstructure evolution of recrystallized grains at the homogenization annealing temperature was studied. It is found that recrystallized grains first nucleate in the dendritic core areas on the shot-peened surface and then grow inwards along the dendritic core areas. With the dissolution of the coarse γ′ precipitates and γ/γ′ eutectics in the interdendritic areas, the recrystallized grain boundaries move through the interdendritic areas. Finally, the fully developed grains nearly have a uniform depth. The dissolution of primary γ′ precipitates is a critical factor influencing the recrystallization behavior of SC superalloys.展开更多

The macrostructures, microstructures, temperature distribution, compositions distribution and the mechanical properties at the bonding interface were investigated in detail. The results show that the cladding billet with few defects could be obtained by semi-continuous casting process. At the interface, diffusion layer of about 10μm on average formed between the two alloys due to the diffusion of alloy elements in the temperature range from 596 to 632 °C. From the side of AA4045 to the side of AA3003, the Si content has a trend to decrease, while the Mn content has a trend to increase gradually. Tensile strength of the cladding billet reaches 103.7 MPa, the fractured position is located on the AA3003 side, and the shearing strength is 91.1 MPa, revealing that the two alloys were combined metallurgically by mutual diffusion of alloy elements.展开更多

All alloys consist of a single LaNi5 phase with CaCu5 structure, and the lattice constant a and the cell volume (V) of the LaNi5 phase increase with increasing x value. The maximum discharge capacity gradually decreases from 319.0 mA?h/g (x=0) to 291.9 mA?h/g (x=0.20) with the increase in x value. The high-rate dischargeability at the discharge current density of 1200 mA/g decreases monotonically from 53.1% (x=0) to 44.2% (x=0.20). The cycling stability increases with increasing x from 0 to 0.20, which is mainly ascribed to the improvement of the pulverization resistance.展开更多

The results show that the effects of minor Zr and Sc on the as-cast grain refinement in the ingots, the improvement in the strength of the as-extruded alloys and the restriction of high angle grain boundaries in the aged alloys can be sorted as Al3ScAl3 (Zr,Sc)Al3Zr. None of them could stop the nucleation of recrystallization, but Al3 (Zr,Sc) phase is a more effective inhibitor of dislocation movement compared to Al3 Sc in the aged alloys. Compared with the mechanical properties of the aged alloy added only 0.15% Sc, the joint addition of Zr and Sc to the alloy leads to a very slight decrease in strength with even no cost of ductility. Taking both the production cost and the little bad influence on mechanical properties into consideration, an optimal content of Zr and Sc in the Al-Mg-Si-Cu-Cr-V alloy to substitute 0.15% Sc is 0.13% Zr+0.03% Sc.展开更多

The recrystallization temperature and nucleation mechanism of the alloy were studied by means of hardness tests, observations of optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results show that the anti-crystallization ability can be significantly improved by adding minor Sc and Zr into Al-Mg-Mn alloy. This can be proved by a much higher recrystalliztion temperature (450 ~C) than Al-Mg-Mn alloy without Sc and Zr (150 ℃). The main reason of the great increase of recrystallization temperature can be attributed to the strong pinning effect of highly disperseded Al3(Sc,Zr) particles on dislocations and sub-grain boundaries. The recrystallizing process reveals itself the nucleation mechanism of the alloy involving not only the sub-grain coalescence but also the sub-grain growth.展开更多

The micro-nanostructured surface on the titanium alloy was prepared by laser treatment and multiple acid etching. The surface morphologies of different titanium alloy substrates were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effects of micro-nanostructured surfaces on the cellular responses were investigated in vitro by observing hydroxyapatite formation, cell morphology and cell adhesion. The results indicate that the micro-sized structure promoted the adhesion and proliferation of cultured osteoblasts. Furthermore, the micro-nanostructured surface was more conducive to cell adhension stretching compared with the micro-structured surface. All results suggest that the micro-nanostructured surface improved the biocompatibility and integration of tissue onto titanium alloy implants.展开更多

The reliability of simulation depended on the accuracy of the hardening parameter, the recovery parameter and the strain rate sensitivity in the LJ model. The hardening parameter was calculated in terms of the LJ model and the Kocks-Mecking model (KM model), and then the recovery parameter and the strain rate sensitivity were obtained by using the equation of steady state flow stress for DRX. The excellent agreement with the experiment observations shows that the present modeling and user routine are feasible for the reproduce of the hot rolling process. The multi-pass hot rolling contributes to the achievement of a uniformly recrystallized microstructure with fine grains in the rolled sheet. The sheet temperature before the finish rolling strongly affects the final grain size, but hardly affects the grain size distribution. This modeling and the user routine also have a potential to be applied in the researches of the other multi-pass hot deformation process.展开更多

The dissolution of primary γ′ precipitates is a critical factor influencing the recrystallization behavior of SC superalloys.

文摘AA4045/AA3003 cladding billet was prepared by direct chill semi-continuous casting process. Tensile strength of the cladding billet reaches 103.7 MPa, the fractured position is located on the AA3003 side, and the shearing strength is 91.1 MPa, revealing that the two alloys were combined metallurgically by mutual diffusion of alloy elements.

文摘La0.7Ce0.3Ni3.75Mn0.35Al0.15Cu0.75-xFex (x=0-0.20) hydrogen storage alloys were synthesized by induction melting and subsequent annealing treatment, and phase structure and electrochemical characteristics were investigated. The cycling stability increases with increasing x from 0 to 0.20, which is mainly ascribed to the improvement of the pulverization resistance.

文摘The effects of minor contents of Zr and Sc on the microstructures and mechanical properties of Al-Mg-Si-Cu-Cr-V alloy were studied. Taking both the production cost and the little bad influence on mechanical properties into consideration, an optimal content of Zr and Sc in the Al-Mg-Si-Cu-Cr-V alloy to substitute 0.15% Sc is 0.13% Zr+0.03% Sc.

文摘Al-5.8Mg-0.4Mn-0.25Sc-0.1Zr (mass fraction, %) alloys were prepared by water chilling copper mould ingot metallurgy processing which was protected by active flux. The recrystallizing process reveals itself the nucleation mechanism of the alloy involving not only the sub-grain coalescence but also the sub-grain growth.

文摘The influence of Zr and Y on the cast microstructure of a nickel-based superalloy was investigated by optical microscopy (OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron probe micro-analysis(EPMA)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Theγ+γ′eutectic volume in the superalloy rises notably with the increase of Zr or Y content.Meanwhile, the morphologies of primary MC carbides change from needle and platelet-like to blocky shape with increasing Zr and Y doped. The XRD results show that the primary MC carbide lattice constant increases with Zr and Y additions, and EPMA investigation shows that the platelet-like MC carbides contain primarily Nb and C,while those carbides in blocky shape have 39.2%Zr and 39.6%Nb in average,.These influences on the cast microstructure can be attributed to the atomic size effects of Zr and Y.

文摘Surface modification of medical implants was considered as an effective method to improve the cellular behaviors and the integration of tissue onto materials. All results suggest that the micro-nanostructured surface improved the biocompatibility and integration of tissue onto titanium alloy implants.

文摘The dynamic recrystallization (DRX) process of AZ31 magnesium alloy including microstructure and dislocation density evolution during hot compression was simulated by adopting the cellular automaton (CA) method coupling the Laasraoui-Jonas model (LJ model). Good agreements between the simulations and the experimental observations were achieved.

文摘The microstructure simulation during the multi-pass hot rolling of AM50 alloy was studied by DEFORM-3D. This modeling and the user routine also have a potential to be applied in the researches of the other multi-pass hot deformation process.
