Idioms are one of the important components of Chinese language, characterized by unique structure and rich content. As a classic work of ancient Chinese literature, “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” uses a large number of idioms, fully demonstrating the unique language characteristics and cultural connotations of the Chinese language. In the process of translating it into Uyghur language (Uyghur translation), how to accurately convey the meaning and charm of idioms is a major challenge faced by translators. This article, guided by Eugene Nida’s theory of functional equivalence, analyzes and summarizes examples of Uyghur language translation of Chinese idioms in “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”, and explores the translation methods adopted by translators in the process of translating idioms into Uyghur language.展开更多
