The nanocomposite was obtained by using an ordered two-dimensional(2D) hexagonal mes...In this article, we report the preparation of a three-dimensional(3D) interconnected mesoporous anatase TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposite. The nanocomposite was obtained by using an ordered two-dimensional(2D) hexagonal mesoporous anatase 70 TiO2-30 SiO2-950 nanocomposite(crystallized at 950 °C for 2 h) as a precursor, NaO H as an etchant of SiO2 via a "creating mesopores in the pore walls" approach. Our strategy adopts mild conditions of creating pores such as diluted NaO H solution, appropriate temperature and solid/liquid ratio, etc. aiming at ensuring the integrities of mesopores architecture and anatase nanocrystals. XRD, TEM and N2 sorption techniques have been used to systematically investigate the physico-chemical properties of the nanocomposites. The results show that the intrawall mesopores are highly dense and uniform(average pore size 3.6 nm), and highly link the initial mesochannels in a 3D manner while retaining mesostructural integrity. There is no significant change to either crystallinity or size of the anatase nanocrystals before and after creating the intrawall mesopores. The photocatalytic degradation rates of rhodamine B(RhB, 0.303 min^–1) and methylene blue(MB, 0.757 min^–1) dyes on the resultant nanocomposite are very high, which are 5.1 and 5.3 times that of the precursor; even up to 16.5 and 24.1 times that of Degussa P25 photocatalyst, respectively. These results clearly demonstrate that the 3D interconnected mesopores structure plays an overwhelming role to the increments of activities. The 3D mesoporous anatase TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposite exhibits unexpected-high degradation activities to RhB and MB in the mesoporous metal oxide-based materials reported so far. Additionally, the nanocomposite is considerably stable and reusable. We believe that this method would pave the way for the preparation of other 3D highly interconnected mesoporous metal oxide-based materials with ultra-high performance.展开更多

The impacts of AMR codec modes and power control on traffic quality of service are taken into account in the strategy at the same time. By synthetically comparing the signal-to-interference ratio value with the switching threshold and comparing the transmission power with its threshold, radio resource management can always keep each link on its proper codec mode with the corresponding optimal power level to achieve both robust speech quality and link capacity enhancement. Based on the WCDMA FDD uplink link-level simulation platform, AMR link adaptation platform is constructed. Simulation results show that the algorithm can track the fast change of channel conditions and select the most robust codec mode, thus the synthetic speech quality of AMR is better than that of signal mode during a wide range of channel conditions. The result will provide a reference strategy for AMR link adaptation of 3G system.展开更多

Numerical simulations are performed ...The dynamic interaction between the maglev vehicle and the three-span rigid frame bridge is discussed. With the consideration of magnetic force, the interaction model is developed. Numerical simulations are performed to study the dynamic characteristics of the bridge during vehicle movement along the bridge. The results show that a reasonable value of the linear stiffness ratio of columns to beams is between 2. 0 and 3.0. The dynamic responses of the bridge are aggravated with the decrease in bending rigidity and the increase in vehicle speed and the span ratio of the bridge. It is suggested that a definite way is to control impact coefficients and acceleration in the dynamic design of the bridge. It is unsuitable to adopt the moving load model and the moving mass model in the design. The proposed results can serve in the design of high-speed maglev three-span rigid frame bridges.展开更多

The results as follows: during the raising leg stage and early raising leg stage, when the damping ratio increases, the overshoot of system decreases and the setting time reduces, and the dynamic response performance has a significant improvement. During the loading stage and the overflow stage, the pressure in plunger chamber of single hydraulic prop, the output flow and the displacement of the high-flow water three-way valve decrease with the decreasing of the external load. The spring stiffness of the safety valve directs the flow and the spool's displacement of the safety valve, and it can be used to control the high-flow three-way valve's sensitivity.展开更多

Numerical computation models of air cooling heat transfer and flow behaviors in triangular wavy fin channels(TWFC) were established with structural parameters of fins considered.The air side properties of heat transfe...Numerical computation models of air cooling heat transfer and flow behaviors in triangular wavy fin channels(TWFC) were established with structural parameters of fins considered.The air side properties of heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop are displayed with variable structural parameters of fins and inlet velocities of cooling air.Within the range of simulation,TWFC has the best comprehensive performance when inlet velocity vin=4-10 m/s.Compared with those of straight fins,the simulation results reveal that the triangular wavy fin channels are of higher heat transfer performances especially with the fin structural parameters of fin-height Fh=9.0 mm,fin-pitch Fp=2.5-3.0 mm,fin-wavelength λ=14.0-17.5 mm and fin-wave-amplitude A=1.0-1.2 mm.The correlations of both heat transfer factor and friction factor are presented,and the deviations from the experimental measurements are within 20%.展开更多

The geological backg...The water-inrush mechanism of strong water-guide collapse column in coal seam is studied based on the establishment of geological and mathematical models of "triangle" water-inrush mode. The geological background of Shuangliu mine is considered a prototype, similar simulation tests are adopted to analyze the water-inrush rules under this model, and the formation of water-guide channel and water-inrush process is investigated by examining the changes in rock resistivity. This work also uses the coupled cloud image derived from numerical simulation software to verify the results of simulation test. Results show that the numerical simulation of "triangle" water-inrush mode is consistent with the similar simulation. The "triangle" seepage area, which is located at the bottom of collapse columns and is connected to aquifer, is caused by the altered seepage direction and strengthened seepage actions after the overlapping of hydraulic transverse seepage in collapse column and hydraulic vertical seepage flow in aquifer. Under "triangle"water-inrush model, water-guide channel is formed by the communication between plastic failure zone of working face baseplate and"triangular" seepage area. Accordingly, the threatening water-inrush distance between working face and collapse column increases by 20 m compared with that of theoretical calculation.展开更多

Relationships between the maximum compressive stress and...Although commonly used, no design method is available for steel web tapered tee section cantilevers. This paper investigates the bending stresses of such beams. Relationships between the maximum compressive stress and the degree of taper were investigated. An analytical model is presented to determine the location of the maximum stress when subjected to a uniformly distributed load or a point load at the free end and was validated using finite element analysis and physical tests. It was found that the maximum stress always occurs at the support when subjected to a uniformly distributed load. When subjected to a point load at the free end and the degree of taper is up to seven, it was found that Miller's equation could be used to determine the location of the maximum stress. However, it is shown that when the degree of taper is greater than seven, Miller's equation does not accurately predict the location and the analytical model should be used. It was also found that the location of the maximum stress was solely dependent on the degree of taper, while a geometric ratio, fl was required to determine the magnitude of the maximum stress. A simple method that predicts the magnitude of the maximum stress is proposed. The average error in the prediction of the magnitude of the maximum stress is found to be less than 1.0%.展开更多

The MDSvarext method incorporates the objects' confidence regions in this analysis, allowing for statistical inference in the difference between objects, but the confidence regions that are generated are very large because of the inherent variability among the evaluators. One solution to this problem is cluster generation prior to the application of the MDSvarext method in order to obtain homogeneous subgroups and to achieve greater control of the variance. This work is relevant to studies of perception which usually evaluate the difference between objects or stimuli in the point of view of different people that judge this difference using several dimensions. This study investigated the possibility of using a K-means algorithm to generate subgroups before the MDSvarext method was applied, evaluating the process with two quality indicators, one Ex-Ante and one Ex-Post. The experiments were conducted based on simulation of judgment matrix of different objects in multiple dimensions being evaluated by several judges. In this experiment, the matrix used was a 10 objects, in 10 features, judged by 10 people. The results are promising as possible interpretations of the perceptual map and the indicators generated.展开更多

Various methods, including microwells in particular...Cellular spheroids serving as three-dimensional(3D) in vitro tissue models have attracted increasing interest for pathological study and drug-screening applications. Various methods, including microwells in particular, have been developed for engineering cellular spheroids. However, these methods usually suffer from either destructive molding operations or cell loss and non-uniform cell distribution among the wells due to two-step molding and cell seeding. We have developed a facile method that utilizes cellembedded hydrogel arrays as templates for concave well fabrication and in situ MCF-7 cellular spheroid formation on a chip. A custom-built bioprinting system was applied for the fabrication of sacrificial gelatin arrays and sequentially concave wells in a high-throughput, flexible, and controlled manner. The ability to achieve in situ cell seeding for cellular spheroid construction was demonstrated with the advantage of uniform cell seeding and the potential for programmed fabrication of tissue models on chips. The developed method holds great potential for applications in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and drug screening.展开更多

We first examined the expression of mRNAs for proteins constituting possible ATP- re...In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the pathways contributing to ATP release from mouse astrocytes during hypoosmotic stress. We first examined the expression of mRNAs for proteins constituting possible ATP- releasing pathways that have been suggested over the past several years. In RT-PCR analysis using both control and osmotically swollen astrocytes, amplification of cDNA fragments of expected size was seen for connexins (Cx32, Cx37, Cx43), pannexin 1 (Pxl), the P2X7 receptor, MRP1 and MDR1, but not CFTR. Inhibitors of exocytotic vesicular release, gap junction hemi-channels, CFTR, MRP1, MDR1, the P2X7 receptor, and volume-sensitive outwardly rectifying chloride channels had no significant effects on the massive ATP release from astrocytes. In contrast, the hypotonicity-induced ATP release from astrocytes was most effectively inhibited by gadolinium (50 μM), an inhibitor of the maxi-anion channel, which has recently been shown to serve as a pathway for ATP release from several other cell types. Thus, we propose that the maxi-anion channel constitutes a major pathway for swelling-induced ATP release from cultured mouse astrocytes as well.展开更多

The proposed receiver employs direct RF-to-baseband down-conversion, sampling at a rate equal to the bandwidth of the baseband multicarrier signal and complex-valued coefficient FIR filters. This receiver avoids the need for arrays of high Q analog bandpass filters, has a much lower sampling rate half of that of conventional receiver and offers significant savings in hardware implementation. Analytic and simulation results show that the presented receiver performs well for both the AWGN channel and Rayleigh fading channel.展开更多

Due to high packet loss rate in wireless envi- ronment, error resilience for 3G terminals is necessary. Moreover, because of the hardware restrictions, 3G mobile terminals support only part of H.264/AVC error resilience tool. This paper analyzes various error resilience tools and their functions, and presents 2 error resilience strategies for 3G mobile streaming video services and mobile conversational services. Performances of the proposed error resilience strategies were tested using off-line common test conditions. Experiments showed that the proposed error resilience strategies can yield reasonably satisfactory results.展开更多

文摘Numerical computation models of air cooling heat transfer and flow behaviors in triangular wavy fin channels(TWFC) were established with structural parameters of fins considered.The air side properties of heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop are displayed with variable structural parameters of fins and inlet velocities of cooling air.Within the range of simulation,TWFC has the best comprehensive performance when inlet velocity vin=4-10 m/s.Compared with those of straight fins,the simulation results reveal that the triangular wavy fin channels are of higher heat transfer performances especially with the fin structural parameters of fin-height Fh=9.0 mm,fin-pitch Fp=2.5-3.0 mm,fin-wavelength λ=14.0-17.5 mm and fin-wave-amplitude A=1.0-1.2 mm.The correlations of both heat transfer factor and friction factor are presented,and the deviations from the experimental measurements are within 20%.

文摘The water-inrush mechanism of strong water-guide collapse column in coal seam is studied based on the establishment of geological and mathematical models of "triangle" water-inrush mode. The geological background of Shuangliu mine is considered a prototype, similar simulation tests are adopted to analyze the water-inrush rules under this model, and the formation of water-guide channel and water-inrush process is investigated by examining the changes in rock resistivity. This work also uses the coupled cloud image derived from numerical simulation software to verify the results of simulation test. Results show that the numerical simulation of "triangle" water-inrush mode is consistent with the similar simulation. The "triangle" seepage area, which is located at the bottom of collapse columns and is connected to aquifer, is caused by the altered seepage direction and strengthened seepage actions after the overlapping of hydraulic transverse seepage in collapse column and hydraulic vertical seepage flow in aquifer. Under "triangle"water-inrush model, water-guide channel is formed by the communication between plastic failure zone of working face baseplate and"triangular" seepage area. Accordingly, the threatening water-inrush distance between working face and collapse column increases by 20 m compared with that of theoretical calculation.
文摘Although commonly used, no design method is available for steel web tapered tee section cantilevers. This paper investigates the bending stresses of such beams. Relationships between the maximum compressive stress and the degree of taper were investigated. An analytical model is presented to determine the location of the maximum stress when subjected to a uniformly distributed load or a point load at the free end and was validated using finite element analysis and physical tests. It was found that the maximum stress always occurs at the support when subjected to a uniformly distributed load. When subjected to a point load at the free end and the degree of taper is up to seven, it was found that Miller's equation could be used to determine the location of the maximum stress. However, it is shown that when the degree of taper is greater than seven, Miller's equation does not accurately predict the location and the analytical model should be used. It was also found that the location of the maximum stress was solely dependent on the degree of taper, while a geometric ratio, fl was required to determine the magnitude of the maximum stress. A simple method that predicts the magnitude of the maximum stress is proposed. The average error in the prediction of the magnitude of the maximum stress is found to be less than 1.0%.
文摘The generation of a perceptual map via three-way multidimensional scaling allows analysts to see the separation of objects in Euclidean space. The MDSvarext method incorporates the objects' confidence regions in this analysis, allowing for statistical inference in the difference between objects, but the confidence regions that are generated are very large because of the inherent variability among the evaluators. One solution to this problem is cluster generation prior to the application of the MDSvarext method in order to obtain homogeneous subgroups and to achieve greater control of the variance. This work is relevant to studies of perception which usually evaluate the difference between objects or stimuli in the point of view of different people that judge this difference using several dimensions. This study investigated the possibility of using a K-means algorithm to generate subgroups before the MDSvarext method was applied, evaluating the process with two quality indicators, one Ex-Ante and one Ex-Post. The experiments were conducted based on simulation of judgment matrix of different objects in multiple dimensions being evaluated by several judges. In this experiment, the matrix used was a 10 objects, in 10 features, judged by 10 people. The results are promising as possible interpretations of the perceptual map and the indicators generated.

文摘Cellular spheroids serving as three-dimensional(3D) in vitro tissue models have attracted increasing interest for pathological study and drug-screening applications. Various methods, including microwells in particular, have been developed for engineering cellular spheroids. However, these methods usually suffer from either destructive molding operations or cell loss and non-uniform cell distribution among the wells due to two-step molding and cell seeding. We have developed a facile method that utilizes cellembedded hydrogel arrays as templates for concave well fabrication and in situ MCF-7 cellular spheroid formation on a chip. A custom-built bioprinting system was applied for the fabrication of sacrificial gelatin arrays and sequentially concave wells in a high-throughput, flexible, and controlled manner. The ability to achieve in situ cell seeding for cellular spheroid construction was demonstrated with the advantage of uniform cell seeding and the potential for programmed fabrication of tissue models on chips. The developed method holds great potential for applications in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and drug screening.
文摘In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the pathways contributing to ATP release from mouse astrocytes during hypoosmotic stress. We first examined the expression of mRNAs for proteins constituting possible ATP- releasing pathways that have been suggested over the past several years. In RT-PCR analysis using both control and osmotically swollen astrocytes, amplification of cDNA fragments of expected size was seen for connexins (Cx32, Cx37, Cx43), pannexin 1 (Pxl), the P2X7 receptor, MRP1 and MDR1, but not CFTR. Inhibitors of exocytotic vesicular release, gap junction hemi-channels, CFTR, MRP1, MDR1, the P2X7 receptor, and volume-sensitive outwardly rectifying chloride channels had no significant effects on the massive ATP release from astrocytes. In contrast, the hypotonicity-induced ATP release from astrocytes was most effectively inhibited by gadolinium (50 μM), an inhibitor of the maxi-anion channel, which has recently been shown to serve as a pathway for ATP release from several other cell types. Thus, we propose that the maxi-anion channel constitutes a major pathway for swelling-induced ATP release from cultured mouse astrocytes as well.
文摘The configuration of the novel three-stage L-band erbium-doped fiber amplifier with very large and flat gain and very low noise figure presented in this paper uses the forward ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) from the first section of the EDF (erbium-doped fiber) and the backward ASE from the third section of the EDF (both serve as the secondary pump sources of energy) to pump the second EDF. To improve the pump efficiency, the power of the pump is split into two parts (with a ratio of e.g. 2:7). The characteristics of this L-band EDFA are studied on the basis of the Giles Model with ASE.

文摘Blind Adaptive Step-size Constant Modulus Algorithm (AS-CMA) for multiuser detection in DS-CDMA systems is presented. It combines the CMA and the concept of variable step-size, uses a second LMS algorithm for the step size. It adjusts the step-size according to the minimum output-energy principle within a specified range, thus overcomes the problems of bad effect of fixed step-size LMS algorithm. Compared with Adaptive Step-size LMS (AS-LMS) algoritilrn, through simulations, this algorithm can adapt the changes of the environment, suppress multiple access interference in the dynamic environment and the stability of Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR) is superior to that of AS-LMS.

文摘This paper proposes a novel zero Intermediate Frequency (IF) receiver for Multi-Carrier (MC) Direct-Sequence Code-Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) based on multicar-rier mode of cdma2000 system. The proposed receiver employs direct RF-to-baseband down-conversion, sampling at a rate equal to the bandwidth of the baseband multicarrier signal and complex-valued coefficient FIR filters. This receiver avoids the need for arrays of high Q analog bandpass filters, has a much lower sampling rate half of that of conventional receiver and offers significant savings in hardware implementation. Analytic and simulation results show that the presented receiver performs well for both the AWGN channel and Rayleigh fading channel.

文摘The emergence of third generation mobile system (3G) makes video transmission in wireless environment possible, and the latest 3GPP/3GPP2 standards require 3G terminals support H.264/AVC. Due to high packet loss rate in wireless envi- ronment, error resilience for 3G terminals is necessary. Moreover, because of the hardware restrictions, 3G mobile terminals support only part of H.264/AVC error resilience tool. This paper analyzes various error resilience tools and their functions, and presents 2 error resilience strategies for 3G mobile streaming video services and mobile conversational services. Performances of the proposed error resilience strategies were tested using off-line common test conditions. Experiments showed that the proposed error resilience strategies can yield reasonably satisfactory results.
