STF samples were prepared with silica and additive dispersed in polyethylene glycol (PEG) 400, where three types of additives with different molecular chain lengths of PEG4000, PEG6000, and PEG10000 were used. For PEG10000, different concentrations, including 0, 1%, 3%, and 5%, were selected to study the influences of additive concentrations. Rheological properties of the samples were measured with a rheometer. The results show that the shear thickening effect was significantly enhanced with the increase of the concentration and the molecular chain length of additives. The mechanism of enhancement was quantitatively explained with the formation of large particles clusters.展开更多

Beck, which belong to Orobanchaceae family, include about twenty species, and there are four species and one variety are distributed in the northwest part of China. The dried fleshy stem of Cistanche genus plant known as 'Roucongrong' in Chinese traditional medicine, has long been used for kidney deficiency, female infertility, morbid leucorrhea, and neurasthenia. Studies on active components and pharmacological activities show that it possesses significant activities in enhancing potency, anti-fatigue, immuno-modulability, etc, and phenylethanoid glycosides are the major active components. Due to excessive exploitation, its natural resources are facing with exhaustion. In order to improve this situation, the plant has been cultivated on a large scale in the northwest part of China. Up to now, the chemical investigations of the cultivated Cistartcbe salsa have not been undertaken. In this paper we report seven phenylethanoid glycosides from the cultivated Cistanche salsa: echinacoside (1), cistanoside A (2), acteoside (3), isoacteoside (4), 2'-acetylacteoside (5), tubuloside B (6), and eutigoside A (7). Among them, compound 7 isolated fronl family Orobanchaceae was reported previously, and compounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 from the cultivated Cistanche salsa are reported for the first time.展开更多

Operation at 35℃, an initial biomass of 17.74 g·L^-1 and hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 6 h, the CSTR reactor presented a continuous hydrogen production ability of 5.9 L·d^-1 and the biogas was free of methane throughout the experiment. Dissolved fermehtation products were predominated by ethanol and acetate acid, with smaller quantities of propionic acid, butyric acid and valeric acid. It was found that GAC could make the immobilized system durable and stable in response to organic load impacting and low pH value. When the organic loading rate (OLR) ranged from 8 kgCOD/(m^3d) to 4 kgCOD/(m^3d), stable ethanol-type fermentation was formed, and the ethanol and acetate concentrations account for 89% of the total liquid products.展开更多

The viscosities of alumina slurries, pore structures, porosities and mechanical properties of the sintered ceramics were investigated by introducing both types of alcohols as water solidification modifier into the initial slurries, such as ethanol and 1-propanol. With the addition of ethanol or 1-propanol, the viscosities of slurries increased and porosities of sintered ceramics decreased. The compressive strengths of the sintered porous alumina ceramics were improved due to a good connectivity between lamellae with the addition of both types of alcohols. The lowest porosities of 68.52% and 73.72% and highest compressive strengths of 18.2 MPa and 15.0 MPa were obtained by the addition of 30% ethanol in mass fraction and 1-propanol, respectively.展开更多

Net photosynthetic rates (P-n) ...We investigated the osmotic stress and ion-specific effects on xylem abscisic acid (ABA), ion uptake and transport and gas exchange in one-year-old seedlings of Populus euphratica Oliv. Net photosynthetic rates (P-n) and unit transpiration rates (TRN) were both significantly decreased upon an osmotic shock caused by PEG 6000 solution (osmotic potential = -0.24 MPa) or a saline, which was applied by 50 mmol/L Na+-salts (NaNO3 : NaHCO3 : NaH2PO4 = 5 : 4 : 1, pH 6.8, osmotic potential = -0.24 MPa) or by 50 mmol/L Cl--salts (KCl : NH4Cl = 1:1, osmotic potential = -0.24 MPa). However, salt-treated P. euphratica plants maintained typically higher TRN than those exposed to PEG. Xylem ABA concentrations increased rapidly following the PEG treatment, exhibiting peaking values at 1 h, then returning to pre-stress levels, followed by a gradual increase. Similarly, both Na+-treated and Cl--treated trees exhibited a rapid rise of ABA after salt stress was initiated. Notably, salt-treated plants maintained a relatively higher ABA than PEG-treated plants in a longer term. Collectively, results suggest that osmotic stress and ion-specific effects were both responsible for salt-induced ABA in P. euphratica : the initial rapid increase of xylem ABA appears to be a consequence of an osmotic shock, whereas specific salt effects seem to be responsible for ABA accumulation later on. Compared with Cl--treated trees, a higher inhibitory effect on gas exchange (P-n and TRN) was observed in Na+-salt plants, resulting from its long-sustained ABA and higher salt concentrations in the xylem. Displacement of membrane-associated Ca2+ by Na+ and the lesser capacity in Na+ compartmentation in root vacuoles likely contribute to the high influx of Na+ and Cl- in Na+-treated plants. Xylem K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ concentrations were elevated by external Na+ -salts and Cl--salts, suggesting that P. euphratica maintained a higher capacity in nutrient uptake under saline conditions, which makes a contribution to its salinity tolerance.展开更多

文摘Pt/Ni catalysts modified with CeO2 nanoparticles were prepared by simple composite electrodeposition of Ni and CeO2,and spontaneous Ni partial replacement by Pt processes. The as-prepared CeO2-modified Pt/Ni catalysts showed enhanced catalytic performance for ethanol electro-oxidation compared with pure Pt/Ni,and acetate species were proposed to be the main products of the oxidation when using these catalysts. The content of CeO2 in the as-prepared catalysts influenced their catalytic activity, with Pt/NiCe2(obtained from an electrolyte containing 100 mg/L CeO2 nanoparticles) exhibiting higher activity and relatively better stability in ethanol electro-oxidation.This was mainly due to the oxygen storage capacity of CeO2,the interaction between Pt and CeO2/Ni,and the relatively small contact and charge transfer resistances. The results of this work thus suggest that electrocatalysts with low price and high activity can be rationally designed and produced by a simple route for use in direct ethanol fuel cells.

文摘The electrochemical behaviors of Ta in tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate(TBAHS) ethanol solutions were studied using potentiodynamic polarization, cyclic voltammetry, potentiostatic current time transient and impedance techniques. The results revealed that no active-passive transition is presented in the cyclic voltammogram, and the anodic current density increases with the increase of solution temperature,TBAHS concentration, potential scan rate and water content. The apparent activation energy is about 43.389 kJ/mol and the dissolution process is diffusion-controlled.Potentiostatic measurements showed that the current density gradually decays to a steady value when the potential is low;however, when the potential is higher than a certain value, the current density initially declines to a minimum value and then increases gradually. The resistance of passive film decreases with increasing potential, and inductive loops are presented when the potential is higher than 2.0 V.
文摘Shear thickening fluids (STFs) based on additives with different concentrations and molecular chain lengths were investigated. The mechanism of enhancement was quantitatively explained with the formation of large particles clusters.
文摘Introduction The plants of genus Cistanche G. Among them, compound 7 isolated fronl family Orobanchaceae was reported previously, and compounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 from the cultivated Cistanche salsa are reported for the first time.

文摘A continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) process with granular activated carbon (GAC) was developed for fermentation hydrogen production from molasses-containing wastewater by mixed microbial cultures. When the organic loading rate (OLR) ranged from 8 kgCOD/(m^3d) to 4 kgCOD/(m^3d), stable ethanol-type fermentation was formed, and the ethanol and acetate concentrations account for 89% of the total liquid products.

文摘We previously functionally characterized a novel marine microbial GDSL lipase MT6 and identified that the stereo-selectivity of MT6 was opposite to that of other common lipases in trans-esterification reactions.Herein,we have investigated the use of MT6 in stereo-selective biocatalysis through direct hydrolysis reactions.Notably, the stereo-selectivity of MT6 was also demonstrated to be opposite to that of other common lipases in hydrolysis reactions.Parameters, including temperature, organic co-solvents,pH,ionic strength, catalyst loading, substrate concentration, and reaction time, affecting the enzymatic resolution of racemic 1-phenylethyl acetate were further investigated, with the e.e.of the final(S)-l-Phenylethanol product and the conversion being 97%and 28.5%,respectively,after process optimization. The lengths of side chains of 1-phenylethyl esters greatly affected the stereo-selectivity and conversion during kinetic resolutions.MT6 is a novel marine microbial GDSL lipase exhibiting opposite stereo-selectivities than other common lipases in both trans-esterification reactions and hydrolysis reactions.

文摘KIT‐6 mesoporous silica aged at 40,100,and 150°C were used as hard templates to prepare different mesoporous MnO2 catalysts, marked as Mn‐40,Mn‐100,and Mn‐150,respectively.The catalytic activities of these catalysts and the effect of pore sizes on ethanol catalytic oxidation were investigated.Mn‐40,Mn‐100,and Mn‐150 have triple, double, and single pore systems, respectively. On decreasing the aging temperature of KIT‐6,the pore sizes of KIT‐6 decrease and that of mesoporous MnO2 catalysts increase. The pore sizes and catalytic activities increase in the order:Mn‐40>Mn‐100>Mn‐150.Mn‐40 catalyst has a higher TOF(0.11 s–1 at 120°C)and the best catalytic activity for ethanol oxidation because of a bigger pore size with three pore systems with maximum distribution at 1.9,3.4,and 6.6 nm,decrease in symmetry and degree of order, more surface lattice oxygen species, oxygen vacancies resulting from more Mn3+ions,and better low‐temperature reducibility.

文摘The electrodeposition behaviors of nickel on glassy carbon(GC) and carbon steel(CS) electrodes were investigated in the14.3%-85.7%(mole fraction) betaine.HCl ethylene glycol(EG) ionic liquid using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The results indicated that the reduction of Ni(Ⅱ) on CS electrode via a diffusion-controlled quasi-reversible process was much more facile and easier than that occurred on GC electrode, which followed a diffusion-controlled three-dimensional instantaneous nucleation and growth.Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe that the deposit was dense and contained fine crystallites with average size of(80±4) nm.Energy dispersive spectrometer analysis showed that the obtained deposit was metallic nickel.X-ray diffraction spectroscopy indicated that(111) plane was the most preferred crystal orientation. The nickel deposit was luminous and bright, and had good adhesion with the CS substrate.
文摘Triethanolamine monolaurate ester was synthesized by lauric acid and triethanolamine (TEA) with a molar ratio around 1:1 and the esterification process was investigated and optimized. The esterification product of lauric acid with TEA was characterized by infrared spectra and nuclear magnetic resonance. The surface tension (TCMC) at the critical micelle concentration (CMC) was determined, and the antifogging properties of triethanolamine laurate ester on low-density polyethylene (LDPE) films were also measured. The results indicated that the yield of triethanolamine monolaurate ester was more than 69% under optimized esterification condition, the CMC value and 7CMC of esterification product was 0.91 p.g/mL and 22.1 mN/m in aqueous solution at 25 ℃, respectively. The first-drop time and ten-drop time was 257 and 86 s, respectively, and the antifogging duration of triethanolamine laurate ester on the surface of LDPE film at 60 ℃ was more than 150 h.

文摘The porous alumina ceramics with lamellar structure were fabricated successfully by freeze casting. The lowest porosities of 68.52% and 73.72% and highest compressive strengths of 18.2 MPa and 15.0 MPa were obtained by the addition of 30% ethanol in mass fraction and 1-propanol, respectively.
文摘We investigated the osmotic stress and ion-specific effects on xylem abscisic acid (ABA), ion uptake and transport and gas exchange in one-year-old seedlings of Populus euphratica Oliv. Xylem K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ concentrations were elevated by external Na+ -salts and Cl--salts, suggesting that P. euphratica maintained a higher capacity in nutrient uptake under saline conditions, which makes a contribution to its salinity tolerance.
