Assessment of China's Qualitative Demographic Dividend for Economic Growth during 2016-2020 被引量:10

Given the great strides that China's education sector has made in recent decades, it can be expected that the overall workforce quality of exiting China's labor market in coming one or two decades will be relatively low, while the overall quality of workforce newly entering into China's labor market will be high. As the new, bettereducated generation takes over, China's workforce quality will be vastly improved. This in turn will promote economic growth. We refer to economic growth arising from improved workforce quality as qualitative demographic dividend. Using the computable general equilibrium (CGE) model, this paper investigates the relationship between workforce quality improvements and economic growth. According to the model's results, an improvement in workforce quality will raise the economic growth rate by about two percentage points per annum between 2016 and 2020 and by 10 percentage points cumulatively by 2020. In other words, GDP will be 1.1 times the level of baseline GDP by 2020 due to the improved education levels. Given different production functions across sectors, the improvement of workforce quality will affect different sectors in different ways. On the whole, the improvement of workforce quality is more favorable to the development of capital-intensive sectors and sectors with rapid technology progress. According to this paper, considering the improvement of workforce quality, we cannot conclude that China's potential economic growth rate has already begun to decline. Despite diminishing conventional quantitative demographic dividends, China "s qualitative demographic dividends will keep rising. Qualitative demographic dividends will further push forward China's industrial restructuring and the strategic transition of industrial competitiveness from quantitative to qualitative and from an extensive to an intensive pattern of development. 展开更多

[Results] The resource constraints have a "squeeze" effect on the demographic dividend, and employment pressure is shown in terms of the population opportunity window; the labor market segmentation, the ir- rational industrial structure, the backward curriculum and employment concept are the main factors affecting employment and labor shortage. Infrared window in hypersonic missile usually suffers complex aerodynamic force/heat during high-speed flight.A finite element method was adopted to simulate the thermal and stress response of microscale functional film for infrared window under different aerodynamic heats/forces conditions.Temperature and stress distribution were obtained with different heat fluxes.There is almost constant stress distribution along the film thickness except a sudden decrease near the substrate.The maximum stresses are located at the points which are 0.3 mm away from the edges.Different film materials result in different stress values.The temperature and stress in ZrN are larger than those in Y2O3.Besides the numerical simulation,an oxygen propane flame jet impingement test was performed to investigate thermal shock failure of the infrared window.Some place of the window surface has spots damage and some place has line crack damage after thermal shock. 展开更多

AIM: To prepare a complex of hyaluronic acid (HA) and phospholipids (PL), and study the improvement effect of PL on the oral absorption of HA. METHODS: The complex of HA-PL (named Haplex) was prepared by film dispersion and sonication method, its physico-chemical properties were identified by infrared spectra and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The oral absorption of Haplex was studied. Thirty-two healthy rats were divided into 4 groups randomly: (1) a normal saline (NS) control group; (2) an HA group; (3) a mixture group and (4) a Haplex group. After intragastric administration, the concentration of HA in serum was determined. RESULTS: The physico-chemical properties of Haplex were different from HA or PL or their mixture. After Haplex was administered to rats orally, the serum concentration of HA was increased when compared with the mixture or HA control groups from 4 h to 10 h (P 〈 0.05). The AAUCo-12, of Haplex was also greater than that of the other three groups (P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION: The method of film dispersion and sonication can prepare HA and PL complex, and PL can enhance the oral absorption of exogenous HA. 展开更多

The surface and interface of heterojunction (HJ) formed with organic semiconductor (3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA)) and inorganic semiconductor p-Si were measured and analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).The results indicate that, in PTCDA molecule,the binding energy ( E b) of C is 284.6 eV and 288.3 eV, corresponding to C of the perylene and C of the anhydride, respectively, and the binding energy of O is 531.3 eV and 531.1 eV, corresponding to C of C=O in the anhydrides and C of C-O-C, respectively. However, they are seldom used in wound healing after severe bl... Recently, chitosan nanoparticles have been an attractive biomaterial for their unique properties. Chitosan nanoparticles are mainly used as drug delivers. However, they are seldom used in wound healing after severe bleeding. In the present paper, chitosan nanoparticles with an average size of 60.2 nm were prepared through ionic gelation and characterized by X-ray diffraction and FT-infrared spectrometry. A new animal model of severe bleeding was made to evaluate its effects on wound healing besides hemostasis. The results showed that it can achieve well hemostatic effects and also induce wound healing after severe bleeding. Blood cells can be absorbed by chitosan nanoparticles and the bleeding is treated. Furthermore, the chitosan nanoparticles sustains longer than other materials in wound healing. At the 15th day after operation, the chitosan nanoparticles with the size of 58.3 nm can still be seen in the new-regenerated hepatic tissue. It can induce the formation of a clear granulation around the wound site. Through histological observation, we find out that chitosan-TPP nanoparticles can induce wound healing through migration of the inflammatory cells and synthesis of collagen. So, chitosan nanoparticles show us both hemostasis and the ability of wound healing for parenchymal organs. 展开更多

A deformation magnifying substrate-free micro-cantilever unit with multi-fold interval metaUized legs is specially designed and modeled. A FPA with 160×160 pixels is fabricated and thermal images with noise equivalent temperature difference (NETD) of 400 mK are obtained by this imaging detector. 展开更多

A rice (Oryza sativa) T-DNA insertion population, which included more than 63 000 independent transgenic lines and 8 840 identified flanking sequence tags (FSTs) that were mapped onto the rice genome, was developed to systemi- cally study the rice seed quality control. Genome-wide analysis of the FST distribution showed that T-DNA insertions were positively correlated with expressed genes, but negatively with transposable elements and small RNAs. In addition, the recovered T-DNAs were preferentially located at the untranslated region of the expressed genes. More than 11 000 putative homozygous lines were obtained through multi-generations of planting and resistance screening, and measurement of seed quality of around half of them, including the contents of starch, amylose, protein and fat, with a nondestructive near-infrared spectroscopy method, identified 551 mutants with unique or multiple altered param- eters of seed quality. Analysis of the corresponding FSTs showed that genes participating in diverse functions, including metabolic processes and transcriptional regulation, were involved, indicating that seed quality is regulated by a complex network. 展开更多

This study aims to investigate the effects of region and three regional dominated mangrove species(Avicennia marina, Aegiceras corniculatum and Kandelia candel) on the distribution of inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus. Measurement of the inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus and enzymatic activities was carried out in soils covered by three mangrove species in the Quanzhou Bay estuarine wetlands, a typical coastal wetland in China.Species with a higher biomass in upstream and midstream absorb more nitrogen from soils, and the retention of the available phosphorus in the soils of different regions causes the regional variation of phosphorus. In areas dominated by A. marina, nitrate nitrogen is lower while available phosphorus is higher. Meanwhile, nitrate nitrogen and available phosphorus are higher in the soils covered by K. candel.Moreover, all three species affect the elemental and enzymic stoichiometry. The mangrove species influences the diversity of the elemental and enzymic stoichiometric relationship through differential microenvironments, which induce the biodiversity of wetland ecosystems. Thus, this study may facilitate a better understanding of the transformation ability of mangroves to nitrogen and phosphorus and will therefore be beneficial for providing a basis for the ecological restoration of estuarine wetlands. 展开更多

Gilg have been used in folk medicine for the treatment of diabetes in Guangdong Province,China.In this study,effects of ethanol extract of Aquilaria sinensis leaves on hyperglycemia were investigated in diabetic db/db mice.After 4 weeks of administration,the 95%ethanol(EtOH) extract of Aquilaria sinensis leaves (AE),especially at high dose level(600 mg/kg),activated AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK),resulting in reduced fasting blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels in db/db mice.In addition,the oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT test) showed that AE could remarkably improve insulin resistance.Compared to Thiazolinediones(TZDs),no weight gain was observed after AE administration,which is a severe side effect of TZDs.The data suggested that AE could act as an activator of AMPK,and might be used as an alternative to TZDs in the management of obesity-related diabetes. 展开更多

The intervention of public policy is th... Population aging will become the norm in the Chinese society. Its challenge derives mainly from the failure of the existing socio-economic system to cope with the aging process. The intervention of public policy is therefore inevitable. This paper argues that in order to comprehensively deal with the aging problem, it is not sufficient to merely readjust population policies, policy measures focusing on the aged or policies for one or another sector. Instead, we need to reconstruct the current public policy system from the perspective of social integration and a long-term development strategy. During the reconstruction process, efforts should be made not only to coordinate the population system with other social systems, but also to coordinate short-term goals with medium and longterm strategies. Accordingly, an authoritative permanent government coordinating agency should be established and, taking into account China's national conditions, should redefine the social role of senior citizens, solve practical problems related to support for the aged and support the sustainable development of an aging society. 展开更多
