Then an efficient identification algorithm is proposed for those fractional order systems. The basic idea of the algorithm is to compute fractional derivatives and the filter simultaneously, i.e., the filtered fractional derivatives can be obtained by computing them in one step, and then system identification can be fulfilled by the least square method. The instrumental variable method is also used in the identification of fractional order systems. In this way, even if there is colored noise in the systems, the unbiased estimation of the parameters can still be obtained. Finally an example of identifying a viscoelastic system is given to show the effectiveness of the aforementioned method.展开更多

The average depth of charcoal in the soil was related to the timing of the fire. According to the characteristic of fire-scarred trees, the dynamic map of the fire behavior was drawn onto the topographic map. It showed that the dimension and extent of the fire disturbance was closely related with site conditions. Fire disturbance only led to a significant difference in stand composition and diameter class structure for the stands at different locations, rather than completely destroying the forest. After fire disturbance, the horizontal community structure was a mosaic of different patches, which were made up of different deciduous species or different sizes of Korean pines, and the succession trend of each patch was also different. In the sites with the heavy fire disturbance, the intolerant hardwood species were dominant, and there were a large number of regenerative Korean pine saplings under the canopy. In the moderate -disturbed sites, the tolerant hardwood species were dominant, and a small number of large size Korean pines still survived. In the light-disturbed sites, large size Korean pines were dominant.展开更多

METHODS: A total of 40 male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 165-205 g, were used in this study. Group 1 (sham-control, n = 10) rats underwent laparotomy alone and the bile duct was just dissected from the surrounding tissue. Group 2 rats (untreated, n = 10) were subjected to bile duct ligation (BDL) and no drug was applied. Group 3 rats (low-dose dexa, n = 10) received a daily dose of dexamethasone by orogastric tube for 14 d after BDL. Group 4 rats (high-dose dexa, n = 10) received a daily dose of dexamethasone by orogastric tube for 14 d after BDL. At the end of the two-week period, biochemical and histological evaluations were processed. RESULTS: The mean serum bilirubin and liver enzyme levels signifi cantly decreased, and superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) values were significantly increased in low-dose dexa and high-dose dexa groups when compared to the untreated group. The histopathological score was significantly less in the low-dose and high-dose dexa groups compared to the untreated rats. In the low-dose dexa group, moderate liver damage was seen, while mild liver damage was observed in the high-dose dexa group. CONCLUSION: Corticosteroids reduced liver damage produced by bile duct obstruction. However, the histopathological score was not signifi cantly lower in the high-dose corticosteroid group as compared to the low-dose group. Thus, low-dose corticosteroid provides asignifi cant reduction of liver damage without increased side effects, while high dose is associated not with lower fi brosis but with increased side effects.展开更多

The lumbers were dried using an experimental drying schedule. Moisture content (MC) of the lumber was continuously recorded and final drying defects were examined. The drying curves showed that the drying rate was a constant in the early stage of intermittent heating drying and decreased evidently when the MC was about 18% (intermittent 2h) and 20% (intermittent 6h). The drying quality reached the second (intermittent 2h) and first grade (intermittent 6h) of the Chinese National Standard. The visual drying defects, especially the check extent along grains were reduced with intermittent heating. When the intermittent time increased, the effect was more obvious.展开更多

The experiment was laid down in the form of a complete block experimental design with four treatments and four replications for three years. Treatments included: (1) conventional tillage without using subsoiler which was control treatment (So); (2) using subsoiler with the shank space of 40 cm which was equal to the subsoiling depth (SO; (3) using subsoiler with the shank space of 60 cm which was 1.5 times of the subsoiling depth (S2); and (4) using subsoiler with the shank space of 80 cm which was 2 times of the subsoiling depth (S3). Subsoiling depth was set at 40 cm which was the lower limit of the hard pan depth in the soil. Soil cone index, soil bulk density, soil moisture content, wheat yield, and yield components were measured in this study and SAS software was used to analyze the collected data. Results showed that subsoiling decreased the soil bulk density and cone index, and increased water retention of the soil. Results also revealed that applying subsoiler increased wheat yield and yield components in our dry land conditions. Since subsoiling improved soil physical conditions and increases wheat yield, applying subsoiler in such a dry land conditions is therefore recommended. Results of this study also showed that subsoiling with the shank space of 40 cm and 60 cm had better performance compared to the shank space of 80 cm. On the other hand, shank space of 40 cm reduced the subsoiler effective working width and consequently effective field capacity. Therefore, subsoiler with a shank space of 60 cm is recommended for application in dry land soils of our type.展开更多

It is a new method of consolidating loose fine particles, which relies on the bacterially induced formation of a compatible carbonate precipitation around individual particles and at particle-particle contacts. Materials and cementation procedure are two major factors that influence the cementation performance of microbe-based cement. Besides, there are some other factors related to the performance, such as pH, temperature, metabolism activity, the flushed times of bacterial solution, concentration of substrate and calcium ion, etc., which affect consolidation function. The assessment methods for cementation process are carried out by various techniques. The performance of consolidation loose grains based on microbe-based cement is tested with the help of experiment. In this paper a review is presented on the cementation mechanism of microbe-based cement, techniques utilized to monitor cementation process, the consolidated performance by microbe-based cement and bond factors.展开更多

Methods: Eighty-four female SD rats of 4 months old were randomly divided into osteoporosis group and sham operation group, 42 in each. Rats in osteoporosis group were performed ovariectomy operation while those in sham operation group were given sham operation. A midshaft tibia fracture model was established 10 weeks after ovariectomy. Tibias were harvested 2, 4, 6, 12, 18 weeks after fracture for bone mineral density, histomorphological and biomechanical evaluation. Results: Compared with the sham operation group, callus bone mineral density was 12.8%, 18.0%, 17.0% lower in osteoporosis group 6, 12, 18 weeks after fracture, respectively (P< 0.05); callus failure load was 24.3%, 31.5%, 26.6%, 28.8% lower in osteoporosis group, and callus failure stress was 23.9%, 33.6%, 19.1%, 24.9% lower in osteoporosis group 4, 6, 12, 18 weeks after fracture, respectively (P< 0.05). In osteoporosis group, endochondral bone formation was delayed, more osteoclast cells could be seen around the trabecula, and the new bone trabecula arranged loosely and irregularly. Conclusions: Osteoporosis influences the middle and late periods of fracture healing in the rat osteoporotic model. The impairment is considered to be the result of combined effects of prolonged endochondral calcification, high activated osteoclast cell and the deceleration of the increase in bone mineral density.展开更多
