Three characteristic parameters, i.e., the correlation dimension, the largest Lyapunov exponent, and the Kolmogorov en- tropy, are estimated in the reconstructed phase space. The results indicate that the reverberation signals are nonlinear. The Volterra adaptive prediction method is introduced to model the oceanic reverberation signals. The reverberation time series can be predicted in short term with small prediction errors. A preliminary conclusion can be reached that the nonlinear low-dimensional dynamic sys- tem model is more suitable for modeling oceanic reverberation than the classical random AR model.展开更多

METHODS Double-phase enhancementscanning spiral CT and DSA were performed in...OBJECTIVE To investigate the significance of angiogenesis of lung cancer, in order to provide a scientific basis for interventional therapy. METHODS Double-phase enhancementscanning spiral CT and DSA were performed in 56 pathologically confi rmed lung cancer cases, in order to evaluate angiogenesis of the tumors. The patients included 36 males and 20 females, with ages ranging from 33 to 76 years (average of 53). Assessments and indexes for SCT and DSA examinations were as follows: a) Peak value (PV) of the cancerous focus was the difference between the maximum CT value after enhancement and the CT value of a plain scan; b) The abnormally distorted and expanded new vessels of the cancerous focus which could be macroscopically discriminated; c) DSA staining of the focus of cancer was sparse, grid-like and dense. Chemotherapy and embolotherapy via the bronchial artery (interventional therapy) were conducted. Radiotherapy was added for some of the solid tumors with a diameter exceeding 4 cm. RESULTS a) There were 25 cases with a central-type lesion, among which 4 were small cell lung cancers (SCLC) and 21 non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLC). The cases with a peripheral location accounted for 31 of the total, with a maximum diameter of 1.5 to 13.5 cm and a median of 4.2 cm, including 5 small cell lung cancers and 26 NSCLC cases. b) The reinforced PVs of the cancerous foci were as follows: The PV ranged from 45 to 70 Hu in 34 cases, 25 to 45 Hu in 19, and 10 to 25 Hu in 3. Sparse DSA staining occurred in 3 cases, there was uneven grid-like staining in 22 and dense staining in 31; c) The interventional therapy via the bronchial artery was con-ducted twice in 5 cases with the SCLC, and three times in 4 SCLC cases. For 3 of the latter cases, a dose of 5,000 to 7,000 cGy radiation therapy was added during the interventional treatment. Complete remissions (CR) were seen in 88.9% of the cases (8/9) and partial remission (PR) in 11.1% (1/9). Interventional therapy was conducted twice in 8 cases with NSCLC and three times in 30 with NSCLC and four times in 9 cases. Among the total cases, 13 received radiotherapy during interventional therapy, with a radiation dose of 5,000-7,000 cGy; The CR rate was 78.7% (37/47), PR was 14.9% (7/47) and the rate of non-remission was 6.4% (3/47). CONCLUSION Using imaging technology, analysis of angiogenesis of lung cancers was employed to accurately detect and quantify angiogenesis. This analysis was combined for interventional therapy, using embolizing agents and large doses of the anti-tumor drugs and angiogenesis inhibitors. The agents were selectively delivered into the tumor vessels to eliminate the primary tumor, in order to depress distant metastases and thus enhance the curative effect of the therapy.展开更多

The shielding values of trimethylsilyl chloride (A), t-butyldimethylsilyl chloride (B) and allyltrimethylsilane (C) are calculated by GIAO , CSGT and IGAIM methods, using HF/6-31G*, B3LYP/6-31G*, HF/6-311+G **, B3LYP/6-311+G ** and MPW1PW91/6-311+G ** models respectively. The 29Si chemical shifts calculated by GIAO method using HF/6-311+G ** model are highly in agreement with those obtained experimentally. All of the models above reproduce the trends of chemical shifts in all cases studied, suggesting that the models are of practical value.展开更多

The ultraviolet detector is of rapid response(≤10 μs) while the two infrared detectors usually have a response time of more than 5 ms. The ultraviolet detector is applied to deal with the flame of large scales. When facing the flame of mid or small scales, the three detectors cooperate. Employing the high-order derivatives of the sample data of the infrared circuits to improve the sensitivity, the response speed is greatly improved. The data of the temperature sensor is used to adjust circuit parameters in real time, thus reducing the effect of temperature drift. The flame detectors are tested at different distances and the response time is as rapid as 0.65 ms. The test results show that the new flame detector has the characteristics of high speed and a low rate of false alarms.展开更多

It is involved in the regulation of multiple functions, including the control of the gastroin-testinal (GI) system under physiological and pathophys-iological conditions. Since the gut contains at least 400times more melatonin than the pineal gland, a reviewof the functional importance of melatonin in the gutseems useful, especially in the context of recent clinicaltrials. Melatonin exerts its physiological effects throughspecific membrane receptors, named melatonin-1 re-ceptor (MT1), MT2 and MT3. These receptors can befound in the gut and their involvement in the regulationof GI motility, inflammation and pain has been reportedin numerous basic and clinical studies. Stable levels ofmelatonin in the lower gut that are unchanged follow-ing a pinealectomy suggest local synthesis and, further more, implicate physiological importance of endogenous melatonin in the GI tract. Presently, only a small number of human studies report possible beneficial and also possible harmful effects of melatonin in case reports and clinical trials. These human studies include patients with lower GI diseases, especially patients with irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. In this review, we summarize the presently available information on melatonin effects in the lower gut and discuss available in vitro and in vivo data. We furthermore aim to evaluate whether melatonin may be useful in future treatment of symptoms or diseases involving the lower gut.展开更多

The overall objective of the project is to demonstrate the environmental benefits and technical feasibility of the implementation of an elastomeric eco-friendly material made of end-of-life tires with resin for railway applications. Within the project, AV Ingenieros jointly with LEAM, carries out the study of the vibration behavior of the eco-friendly material, which will be applied as a mat for ballasted tracks as well as an isolated block system for slab tracks. Firstly, an analytical model capable to predict the efficiency of the eco-friendly material as a vibration mitigation measure has been developed. Subsequently, and after the implementation of the eco-friendly solutions in real railway infrastructures, its vibration behavior will be measured and validated through in situ measurements during regular service. First, the major factors of rockburst, such as the maximum tangential stress of the cavern wall σθ, uniaxial compressive strength σc, uniaxial tensile strength or, and the elastic energy index of rock Wet, were taken into account in the analysis. Three factors, Stress coefficient σθ/σc, rock brittleness coefficient σc/σt, and elastic energy index Wet, were defined as the criterion indices for rockburst prediction in the proposed model. After training and testing of 12 sets of measured data, the discriminant functions of FDA were solved, and the ratio of misdiscrimina- tion is zero. Moreover, the proposed model was used to predict rockbursts of Qinling tunnel along Xi'an-Ankang railway. The results show that three forecast results are identical with the actual situation. Therefore, the prediction accuracy of the FDA model is acceptable.展开更多

The paper discusses different pedagogical methods, learning materials, and learners' status. The most important mission of schools is to increase public awareness about their linguistic environment which helps reassert minority identity through language acquisition and linguistic maintenance. Implementing an educational language curriculum for regional languages constitutes a main step towards the preservation of linguistic minorities. According to the informants interviewed during the fieldwork, both groups express positive reactions towards the presence of Gallo at school (group 1--80%; group 2--92.9%). However, in follow-up discussions, a certain number of older speakers seem to be more reluctant, because the variety of Gallo taught at school is different from the one which was transmitted to them. In conclusion, bilingual and immersion programs are increasingly successful in Brittany and could lead to a wider recognition of Eastern Brittany's language and culture.展开更多

There have been ma...The Japanese Taxation Agency (JTA) introduced transfer pricing taxation (TPT) in order to suppress the outflow of profits and therefore taxes of Japanese companies, which are expanding overseas. There have been many press reports regarding the application of TPT, and so there is much public attention on this issue. TPT is applied to unnatural transfer prices (TP). If TPT is applied to a multinational company (MNC), the company will need to bear enormous documentation costs in its calculation of the ratable price. In addition, in the last few years, the target of TPT is shifting to the overseas transfer of intangible assets, such as trademarks, royalties, patents, and charges income. As a result, companies have become more careful about TPT and investors tend to pay attention to companies' TPT strategy. With regard to this point, this paper examines how the market evaluates news regarding TP by investigating the market reaction to an initial press report mentioning that a firm was involved in a TP manipulation and may be guilty of tax underpayment. We examine these events both because press reports are currently under intense scrutiny and because there has been very little research on firms that engage in tax sheltering (see, e.g., Graham & Tucker, 2006; Hanlon & Slemrod, 2009). Some view the fact that not all firms engage in tax sheltering as surprising because of the widespread view that shelters, at least in the 1990s, in expectation, offered a positive net present value position. The potential negative public relations effect is often cited as one reason for this "under-sheltering" phenomenon (Bankman, 2004). On the event study analysis, we find that the Japanese capital market has shown a statistically significant negative reaction to the press reports. This result is due to a strong distrust of corporate activity regarding TP strategies. Moreover, in order to clarify the reason why the market responds to reports of TPT being applied, we compute the cumulative abnormal returns (CARs) around the date of the press report and conduct two-stage least-squares estimation to examine where this result regarding the market reaction comes from. Our results indicate that the variables for intangible assets and effective tax rate and the variables which represent the extent of corporate governance (CG) are statistically significant with respect to these reactions.展开更多

While IFRS are supposed to improve international comparisons by harmonisation and definition of strong principles, Ball (2006) and Nobes (2006) were concerned about differences in the application of IFRS cross-countries and firms. Barth, Landsman & Lang (2008) stated that the flexibility of principles- based International Accounting Standards (IAS) could create incentives for firms to manage earnings. This paper contributes to analyse the impact of IFRS on accounting quality for European firms. The findings show that for firms in the European Union (EU) IFRS produce a negative effect on accounting quality that continues after 2005, when IFRS becomes mandatory. By contrast, for European firms which are not EU members the IFRS adoption increases accounting quality. These results support the concerns about IFRS application and flexibility and indicate that accounting quality does not improve just because the adoption of IFRS is mandatory.展开更多

The ultraviolet detector is applied to deal with the flame of large scales. When facing the flame of mid or small scales, the three detectors cooperate. Employing the high-order derivatives of the sample data of the infrared circuits to improve the sensitivity, the response speed is greatly improved. The data of the temperature sensor is used to adjust circuit parameters in real time, thus reducing the effect of temperature drift. The flame detectors are tested at different distances and the response time is as rapid as 0.65 ms. The test results show that the new flame detector has the characteristics of high speed and a low rate of false alarms.
文摘Current accounting development in Kosovo is estimated to be relatively good, which always constituted in terms of maintenance, improvement and facilitate of financial reporting system for all business entities within this system In recent years, Kosovo experienced rapid development in economic and social aspects, along with all effects and other changes, which has occurred in the development of accounting and financial reporting system. Accounting requirements are already addressed to the business community for keeping proper accounting in accordance with existing intemational and Kosovar standards. In recent years in Kosovo, we notice an increase of enterprises in the number, especially private enterprises, which have highlighted the great necessary to have such information, who had been a major help for their managers. With this, the accounting gets a new role, becoming the information that flows from that decisive leadership bodies. But the changing of role of accounting must be accompanied by measures to ensure its retention in accordance with the requirements and new conditions created
文摘Melatonin is a hormone with endocrine, paracrine andautocrine actions. It is involved in the regulation of multiple functions, including the control of the gastroin-testinal (GI) system under physiological and pathophys-iological conditions. Since the gut contains at least 400times more melatonin than the pineal gland, a reviewof the functional importance of melatonin in the gutseems useful, especially in the context of recent clinicaltrials. Melatonin exerts its physiological effects throughspecific membrane receptors, named melatonin-1 re-ceptor (MT1), MT2 and MT3. These receptors can befound in the gut and their involvement in the regulationof GI motility, inflammation and pain has been reportedin numerous basic and clinical studies. Stable levels ofmelatonin in the lower gut that are unchanged follow-ing a pinealectomy suggest local synthesis and, further more, implicate physiological importance of endogenous melatonin in the GI tract. Presently, only a small number of human studies report possible beneficial and also possible harmful effects of melatonin in case reports and clinical trials. These human studies include patients with lower GI diseases, especially patients with irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. In this review, we summarize the presently available information on melatonin effects in the lower gut and discuss available in vitro and in vivo data. We furthermore aim to evaluate whether melatonin may be useful in future treatment of symptoms or diseases involving the lower gut.

文摘Basically on the multi-body system dynamics,the virtual prototype of the hydraulic shock absorber for the bench test is developed in the ADAMS environment.Dynamic behaviors of the absorber are studied by both computer simulation and real test.Numerical predictions of dynamic responses are produced by the established virtual prototype of the absorber and compared with experimental results.It has been shown from the comparison that the vibration behaviors of the prototype with hysteretic damping characteristics are considered to be more identical with the bench test results than those of the same prototype with piecewise linear damping properties are.The current virtual prototype of the shock absorber is correct and can be a developing terrace for the optimizing design of the absorber and matching capability of the whole car.
文摘Purpose: This paper is a report about the concept analysis of continuity of care, to get further understanding of continuity of care. Methods: The Walker and Avant concept analysis approach was applied in this paper. Results: The three attributes include: seamless transfer, flexible reaction and effective interaction. The antecedents were changed needs and patient centred care. In addition, the continuity of care had a significant effect on patients’ outcome, satisfaction and costs. Conclusions: This analysis provides nurses an understanding about continuity of care in both patient’s and care provider’s perspective. Continuity of care is a tailored services provided by care givers, which is an essential element of healthcare system.
文摘RECYTRACK is a 3.5 year project granted by the European Commission through LIFE+ 2010 program. The overall objective of the project is to demonstrate the environmental benefits and technical feasibility of the implementation of an elastomeric eco-friendly material made of end-of-life tires with resin for railway applications. Within the project, AV Ingenieros jointly with LEAM, carries out the study of the vibration behavior of the eco-friendly material, which will be applied as a mat for ballasted tracks as well as an isolated block system for slab tracks. Firstly, an analytical model capable to predict the efficiency of the eco-friendly material as a vibration mitigation measure has been developed. Subsequently, and after the implementation of the eco-friendly solutions in real railway infrastructures, its vibration behavior will be measured and validated through in situ measurements during regular service. In this paper the analytical model is defined, the elastomeric material dynamic experimental characterization is described and the under ballast mat Insertion Loss is calculated for two different soil stiffness.

文摘A Fisher discriminant analysis (FDA) model for the prediction of classification of rockburst in deep-buried long tunnel was established based on the Fisher discriminant theory and the actual characteristics of the project. First, the major factors of rockburst, such as the maximum tangential stress of the cavern wall σθ, uniaxial compressive strength σc, uniaxial tensile strength or, and the elastic energy index of rock Wet, were taken into account in the analysis. Three factors, Stress coefficient σθ/σc, rock brittleness coefficient σc/σt, and elastic energy index Wet, were defined as the criterion indices for rockburst prediction in the proposed model. After training and testing of 12 sets of measured data, the discriminant functions of FDA were solved, and the ratio of misdiscrimina- tion is zero. Moreover, the proposed model was used to predict rockbursts of Qinling tunnel along Xi'an-Ankang railway. The results show that three forecast results are identical with the actual situation. Therefore, the prediction accuracy of the FDA model is acceptable.
文摘This study explores the origins and current status of the Gallo language at school--a minority language spoken in the eastern part of Brittany--among older speakers (group 1-41 informants) and students of Gallo (group 2-17 informants). The paper discusses different pedagogical methods, learning materials, and learners' status. The most important mission of schools is to increase public awareness about their linguistic environment which helps reassert minority identity through language acquisition and linguistic maintenance. Implementing an educational language curriculum for regional languages constitutes a main step towards the preservation of linguistic minorities. According to the informants interviewed during the fieldwork, both groups express positive reactions towards the presence of Gallo at school (group 1--80%; group 2--92.9%). However, in follow-up discussions, a certain number of older speakers seem to be more reluctant, because the variety of Gallo taught at school is different from the one which was transmitted to them. In conclusion, bilingual and immersion programs are increasingly successful in Brittany and could lead to a wider recognition of Eastern Brittany's language and culture.
文摘The Japanese Taxation Agency (JTA) introduced transfer pricing taxation (TPT) in order to suppress the outflow of profits and therefore taxes of Japanese companies, which are expanding overseas. There have been many press reports regarding the application of TPT, and so there is much public attention on this issue. TPT is applied to unnatural transfer prices (TP). If TPT is applied to a multinational company (MNC), the company will need to bear enormous documentation costs in its calculation of the ratable price. In addition, in the last few years, the target of TPT is shifting to the overseas transfer of intangible assets, such as trademarks, royalties, patents, and charges income. As a result, companies have become more careful about TPT and investors tend to pay attention to companies' TPT strategy. With regard to this point, this paper examines how the market evaluates news regarding TP by investigating the market reaction to an initial press report mentioning that a firm was involved in a TP manipulation and may be guilty of tax underpayment. We examine these events both because press reports are currently under intense scrutiny and because there has been very little research on firms that engage in tax sheltering (see, e.g., Graham & Tucker, 2006; Hanlon & Slemrod, 2009). Some view the fact that not all firms engage in tax sheltering as surprising because of the widespread view that shelters, at least in the 1990s, in expectation, offered a positive net present value position. The potential negative public relations effect is often cited as one reason for this "under-sheltering" phenomenon (Bankman, 2004). On the event study analysis, we find that the Japanese capital market has shown a statistically significant negative reaction to the press reports. This result is due to a strong distrust of corporate activity regarding TP strategies. Moreover, in order to clarify the reason why the market responds to reports of TPT being applied, we compute the cumulative abnormal returns (CARs) around the date of the press report and conduct two-stage least-squares estimation to examine where this result regarding the market reaction comes from. Our results indicate that the variables for intangible assets and effective tax rate and the variables which represent the extent of corporate governance (CG) are statistically significant with respect to these reactions.
文摘In this paper it is examined whether firms following International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) exhibit higher accounting quality. While IFRS are supposed to improve international comparisons by harmonisation and definition of strong principles, Ball (2006) and Nobes (2006) were concerned about differences in the application of IFRS cross-countries and firms. Barth, Landsman & Lang (2008) stated that the flexibility of principles- based International Accounting Standards (IAS) could create incentives for firms to manage earnings. This paper contributes to analyse the impact of IFRS on accounting quality for European firms. The findings show that for firms in the European Union (EU) IFRS produce a negative effect on accounting quality that continues after 2005, when IFRS becomes mandatory. By contrast, for European firms which are not EU members the IFRS adoption increases accounting quality. These results support the concerns about IFRS application and flexibility and indicate that accounting quality does not improve just because the adoption of IFRS is mandatory.
